WOW   -  I owe you guys   -   And PAT COLEMAN  -  I should give you a negative Karma !!  Why?  The D3hoops schedule has the game listed as at Webster - which was where I was going  until I read the last several posts and find it's at Fontbonne  -  I would have walked into Webster and said where is everyone!!!!    Pat -  better hire that proof reader!!!  (I retire in 2015 and will be available!)
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Tonite is the night!  I can't wait for a hard fought game!  Campus is stirring here at Fontbonne with talk about tonights match-up.  Good luck to both teams!  Go FU!

FU_Pride - I hope GRIFFIN NATION is in full force. Tuesday's crowd was good, but classes still hadn't started. No reason to be sitting in the dorms tonite. Bring everyone.

Hey fellas.  Don't count me out for tonight's game.  I may make the trip. Sounds like all the D3 posters will be there.  I may make an appearance!

As for the D3 schedules, the schools maintain them.  They put the scores and add the schedules.  I maintin ours.  Not sure Pat has much to do w/ that.

OH, and I am loving all the action on the board today!

Was hoping to make the WC vs MU game tonight but appearantly its my night to drop the kids off at the pool.  I think the Jays will pull it off but we will see...would be nice to see them bounce back from Tuesday.  Davis had a monster game against them last year in the Nest, look for the same tonight.

I think the disclaimer is fairly clear:

"Game times have not been verified and may have changed, or may not correspond to your time zone. Please verify with the school before making plans to attend a game based on these times."

FC, thanks for the update!!  I was a little off in my prediction that the score was going to be in the low 70s, but right about the Gorloks winning!!  If you can, please provide details!  It would be much appreciated!

Beaver_SID

So I see my prediction comes tru with webster. Also, I believe BC loses big time @ Mac 91-77. No perticulars yet

dynasty22

You gotta have faith Beaver_SID! It's time that we turn things around now. I'm taking BC in a close one against Mac. If we win the next two games, we will  be tied for 3rd in conference play I believe.....
COMMON BEAVERS, YA JUST GOTTA BELIEVE!!!
Go Beavers!

Bunchtime   -  Darren Hoggat vs horrendous post defense = 38 points !!!
That coupled with a very nice game from Scott Spinner and EVERYONE else playing for the Gorlocks willing to play their role led to the win.

Hoggat was allowed to go one on one for most of the game - only when Fontbonne opened the 2nd half in a zone did Hoggat quiet down, but Fontbonne got out of it when Webster started hitting 3's.  No diving down by other defenders at Hoggat to help the guy guarding him - I didn't get it.

Fontbonne still was in the game with 5 minutes left, but when only 6 guys play, the legs go, and everything from 3 point land was short for the Griffs.
Branch, who had been lighting it up with regularity, couldn't make anything  (my guess is he was about 4-20 from the field.)  Webster did a great job of holding down Fogarty in the 2nd half, White had a good game, McKoy scored but just doesn't blend with the offense at the point.

In this game, the depth and experience surely outdid the youthful talent but short bench.

The final stat sheet, which fcnews graciously showed me, had Hoggat with 36 points, including 14-16 from the line. If I remember correctly Branch was 3-16 from the field and 0-8 behind the arc. It was a well played, fast paced, energetic game. Even the officiating can't be criticized too heavily. All parties can be proud of their performance -- even the fans. All in all a great college basketball game.

Mac Attack

MacMurray dodged a bullet tonight. Sluggish start (again) really hurt. Blackburn did a nice job of packing it in and keeping Robertson away from the basket. MacMurray did the same thing with Allan. I think Mac led by a couple at the half, maybe a little more. Highlanders have been breaking from the gate fast to start the second half, but not tonight. Whalum and Coleman were cold. Greene hit several shots to hold the lead. Beavers hung in there and grabbed the lead midway through the second half - but then MacMurray took off like a rocket and led by close to 20 with about four minutes left. Blackburn hit a couple of threes late to make it a 14 point final score. Allan really played well in the second half, as did Hammond, but that was about it.

Smith and Howard had nice first halves for BC, but disappeared in the second half. Billy Long came off the bench for MacMurray and saved our bacon. He hit two big 3s, a bunch of free throws, and some nice drives. Probably the game of his career tonight, and it's a good thing. He's really a nice weapon - can score inside and out, great jumper, and good defender. He's REALLY helped MacMurray this past week and will be a big plus down the stretch.

This was a critical win for MacMurray. Blackburn had been hot and really needed this one. MacMurray held its home court again and remains unbeaten at home in conference play.  Travel to Maryville Saturday, who is coming off a huge win over Westminster. No rest for the weary. Can MacMurray hang on and finish the first half of SLIAC play at 7-2? Time will tell. Those of you who picked the Highlanders to be at or near the top of the SLUAC at the halfway point, raise your hands. What a nice story for their coach and players.

Other SLIAC scores:
Maryville d. Westminster  58-55
Webster d. Fontbonne  89-78
Principia d. Lincoln Christian   87-53
