I've heard other rumblings of conferences trying to work out ways to play all three sports seasons in Spring - not full seasons, obviously, but competition for every sport.

I did not realize that the prior assistant left Webster, but it looks like Bunch opened up opportunities for three former players to join the coaching staff.

Wondering if it was a mandated cost cutting situation... the loss of Landon Kurz who had been on the staff for 8 years is a mystery... wondering if he is pursuing other Basketball jobs or is getting out.....

it is a great opportunity for the trio of Johnson, Clay and Hopp...

I was curious about that too.

I did walk by the new fitness facility and it looks great.  I was told it was for athletes-only, but I am not sure if that is the case.  I think the coaches are going to love walking prospective student-athletes over to the space.  But, I would hate to see them replace staff with facilities.

That is an interesting idea to go for more games overall in lieu of a tournament berth, but if the teams want to have the best chance of retaining the athletes in 2021-2022, this makes sense.

Would an athletes only fitness center be allowed under d3 regulations?  It seems like there would be good arguments either way.

Very interesting.  I'll ask another colleague who will know for sure if it is limited to athletes.

A change from what I originally heard.... the idea of a consolation game for 1st round losers in the SLIAC tourney was scrapped... it will be a 9 team tourney, necessitating an 8-9 matchup the first night, leading then to a normal 8 team tourney to determine the SLIAC champ...

This looks fun.

Be careful... and I don't understand for sure....
BUT

going to Samford U site, then to men's basketball, a game with Greenville does not show... in fact, Samford shows a game with Martin Methodist on 11/25, the same date as the other sked shows Greenville....  also no mention of that game on Greenville site... my thought is that the schedule mentioned here was original sked and has since drastically changed....

Sorry if I'm wrong, sorry if I'm right.....

Also based on SLIAC Covid response put out in the past, I don't think SLIAC teams can play until after January 1....
