fcnews:  By what I understand, Greenville started fouling near the end to stay close.  Personal fouls were 28-13.  No one really told me that the refs were calling fouls like crazy.  That may have been what the issue was there.

What didn't help us was going 9-28 from 3 pt range and 20 turnovers.  I think we have kind of got out of our game plan that won us 6 games.  We have lost our sit back & relax composure.  We have went back to our run & gun and that isn't what won 6 games for the Panthers.  I hope we can convert back to the hard-nosed basketball we played at Blackburn last month.

Panther, I'll call you tomorrow - will you be at BC, or will you be in touch with the team?

Hope - Kirkpatrick hasn't appeared in a game for Rend Lake C.C. since the begining of the year. I think his high this year was 8 pts 4 rebs against Lindenwood JV. Very nice young man. But, no burning desire to compete. Now it appears to be a trend.

What a shame  -  great solid basketball body, athletic, good shooter - but you remember how I complained about his attitude last year.....  unfortunately, it's probably better for the current kids that he's gone - one kid who doesn't want to work can cause alot of harm.

Hey I hope I'm not out of line by reporting to our readers that Coach McKinney is having Shoulder surgery next Friday  -  not serious, but when you get up in years, you can't take anything for granted  - let's all pray for his health  -  and Coach - I'm sure you have a good staff - don't push it rushing back - get healthy!

Hopefan - I'll pass your good wishes on to Coach. Don't expect to see him missing any games though. Two seperate battles against cancer and a serous 15 day stay in the hospital for an intestinal block and one shoulder surgery and the streak is still alive. 1283 straight games and counting.

Hope:  I will not be at the Blackburn / Greenville game.  However, I will have contact w/ what is going on.  So, you can call.  I will keep you informed on the game as it becomes available.

I think Fontbonne shoots it well enough to win tomorrow, Webster gets revenge and of course Westminster should be able to pull one off up in Elsah, but thats never an easy place to get your mindset right to go in and take care of business.  Sorry pride, but im still not sold on Greenville.  No I haven't seen them play, so Im basing this just on posts and stats but I dont see them making the tournament.  Anyway should be an interesting weekend for all the teams to see how the records end up when its all over.  Good luck to everyone!

Hopefan (and others),

You may have had this wrong (twice) just to see if anyone is paying attention but the Blackburn-Greenville game tomorrow is at Greenville.

We don't want anyone to make the trip to Carlinville to be greeted with an empty Beaverdome.

Hopefan's analysis is almost always right on the money but he missed this one.

Yikes  -  thanks commish  -  senility strikes again -  wondering if I'll see you up north this weekend or at Wash U on Sunday????

I'm still going to support my guys, so hope everybody starts believing soon because i have confidence that they will make it to the tournament. The Greenville-Blackburn game will be huge for both teams. Greenville needs the win for confidence and to get out of a 3 game losing streak. Its a home game so you can guarantee that they will be ready. Expect big games from Conquest, Simmons, and Ellis.
It will be interesting to see how Blackburn comes out without Leotis and being on the road.

I like this Panther2 guy! :)  Nice to have another cat on the Panther page.   It will be interesting.  Panther2, will you be at the game tomorrow?

There have been a couple of references recently to foul discrepancies in games. This relates to another conference, but it was still interesting to me that in tonight's Wash U-Brandeis game Brandeis was whistled for 27 fouls and Wash U hit 31 of 39 field goals. Wash U was whistled for 15 fouls and Brandeis went 8 of 12 from the line. Brandeis hit 25 of 60 field goals, Wash U only 17 of 43. Looks like Wash U was getting fouled a lot in the act of shooting and not making shots as a result. That's why refs call fouls. If playing physical was Brandeis' strategy, it worked in keeping Wash U from hitting field goals, but they suffered the cnsequencies at the charity stripe.

Unfortunately, I won't be at the game tomorrow. I am out of town for the time being, but wish I could be there. It's going to be a big turn around for the guys, and hopefully, a start to some much needed momentum heading into a big game at Fontbonne. I am sure I will get updates and a recap of the game afterwards though.
