fcnews...  I have all the intentions in the world on coming down.  Barring something drastic happening, I should be there.

Thanks for the info on Mattingly Pride. Big loss for GC. The kid had sliac size and had a good game in December against FU. This may explain some of the latest results.

Hope - MU plays three games this week ( 2 at home ) against conference contenders. What is the chances MU can steal one of these?

Mac Attack

fcnews - Maryville will win one of those games, or I sure hope they do - hope they win all three!

Pending a Fontbonne win, I may have to have another promo night at HJ Long.  I'm really hoping my boys can pull out of this funk and get a win down at McKinney's Palace.  Sorry fcnews.  I need this one!  You can have the rest!  (Crosses fingers)

NO WAY PRIDE !!! You got yours in December. We both know 8-10 times that shot doesn't go in. Or, even get off. Come down. Enjoy the ride. Your not out if FU gets their turn.

Hey folks - Here is a line of conversation we haven't touched on lately. We're pass the half way point. Any thoughts on all - conference or POY. I'll get it started.

In no order:
WU - Hoggitt and Spinner
EC - Tarpley and McComb
MC - Whalen and Robertson
GC - Conquest and Simmons
WC - Davis and Kurz
FU - Fogerty and White
BC - Hammond
MU- McCoy

Maybe like this-
1st - Hoggitt, Tarpley, White, Spinner, Whalen, Fogerty (couldn't get to five)
2nd - Conquest, Hammond, Davis, McComb, Robertson

POY - Hoggitt, Tarpley, Fogerty ( all 3 are right there. Now it depends on getting their team there.)

Newcommer - White

Coach - Hettigia and McKinney (Both have got more of their team based on pre season poll)

Just a thought. With a little help from the WU men we could have both tourneys within 15 miles.

Will be difficult to leave the league's #2 rebounder and #7 scorer (Robertson) off the first team. My guess is when the league office gets all of MacMurray's stats, several Mac players will move up in the different stat categories. And if MacMurray wins the regular season, Jerel Robertson should be the POY. Mac was picked to finish 7th by the coaches in the pre-season poll. Based on his team's performance to date, Hettinga is the Coach of the Year.

Based on what I've seen:

1st Team: Spinner (WU), White (FU), Tarpley (EC), Robertson (MC), Fogerty (FU)
2nd Team: Whalum (MC), Conquest (GC), Richard (EC), Hammond (BC), Hoggett (WU)
Hon. Mention: Davis (WC), Simmons (GC), Everett (LCC), Kurz (WC), Greene (MC), Peiffer (EC), Ellis (GC)

OK , Mac. I'll take your word on Robertson. I've only seen Mac once. Whalen was the most impressive.

Mac Attack

Robertson and Whalum are both having terrific years. Don't forget that Coleman hit seven 3pt shots in the second half against Webster. And Greene averages in double figures, averages more rebounds per game (6.2) than Hoggatt, and is our best defensive player. Hettinga is getting a lot of these kids - but so are a lot of other coaches in the SLIAC.

For those not attending the WU @ MU game tommorrow night. Should be another fun night in Griffin Nation. FU is looking for a little revenge on GC. Last second heave by Ellis was one of five last second losses FU had in the first semester.

Hard for me to think WC sweeps WU so I had to pick the Gorloks at home but I hope the Jays prove me wrong.  I think Rogers pulls at least on upset this week so I picked them in two just to try to get one right.  Ive said it before I have no idea how these teams are going to perform against each other, I think BC, EC and GC are very tough teams to pick so I just went with who I thought of first.  Should be a fun week, cant wait til saturday night to see how the standings end up.  I should be at the Mac WC game saturday so hopefully the Jays will get revenge...

Great win at Greenvile by the Beavers, especially after losing a key starter. Hopefully with a win at home tomorrow against Eureka, BC will keep tournament hopes alive!
GO BEAVERS!!

I'm rooting for ya Dynasty. This thing is a cluster already. Might as well really throw the monkey wrench into it.

MacAttack: Im interested in where you get your stat information.  All my researching of conference-only stats (I assume this is what we are comparing since we are talking about conference related awards) show quite different numbers than you have posted.  It interesting you feel it. . . "will be difficult to leave the league's #2 rebounder and #7 scorer (Robertson) off the first team", yet you put Hoggatt on the second team when he is currently the conferences LEADING scorer (20.2 ppg) and 7th in rebounding (7.2 rpg). Perhaps you have access to stats outside of the SLIAC site, not sure, not that it really matters cause theres still alot of ball to play.

Heres something else: Look at the top 15 players in minutes played.  Youll notice Hoggatt is not on that list.  He is putting up monster numbers and avg. alot less minutes than others in the running.  If he keeps his play up or even elevates it (which I believe he is capable of), hes POY hands down, In my opinion.
