A few years ago, we would have played in that 4th place tie-breaker game.  I want to say the 4th place tie-breaker game was with Principia.  The game would have been played at Maryville.  It's played at a Neutral court. I do know that.  I think it's that central location deal.

Only five practice days remaining in the regular season. Say it ain't so!!

I think we need a visit from the sliaccommish to make sure we have all these tiebreakers understood. I really don't care who FU would play or where. I am just so suprised to be in this situation, after the way the season started out for us. I really can't beleive we are still in this thing. You always hope, but not one junior or senior in uniform. I didn't see it coming this year.

JV result from last nite : FU lost by 2 at Wash U. - Terrence Levette had 27 and 12

As they Stand:
WU 10-4
EC 10-4
MC 10-4
FU 9-4
GC 9-5
WC 7-6

GC @ MC - Must win for GC (you can't fall 2 back in a 6 horse race)
PC @ FU - FU must win to stay in title contention.
WU @ EC - EC must win for split

EC wins GC wins: or WU wins MC wins: or STL? - WU wins and GC wins
EC - 11-4                  WU- 11-4                             WU - 11-4
FU - 10-4                  MC- 11-4                              FU - 10-4
WU - 10-5                 FU-  10-4                             EC - 10-5
MC - 10-5                  EC- 10-5                              MC - 10-5
GC - 10-5                  GC - 9-6                               GC - 10-5
WC - 8-6                   WC - 8-6                              WC- 8-6

I Love this time of year!!!!!

Well, I've decided (with necessary permission from my wife), that I'll see both big games this weekend  -  up to Eureka for Friday night and Eureka-Webster, then on down to Jville for Mac and Font on Saturday aft.  The hot line will be open both games - I'm sure there will be lots of interest from the other locations!!!!  Eureka SID, I don't own any Hawaiian shirts - guess I'll have to pay full price for that pizza!!!!  Mac Attack, FC  see you both on Saturday!  Yjak, you'll hear from me Friday night....

both games could go either way -  I'm really excited to be able to see both games.

Hopefan...how many miles is your car going to log this season when it is all said and done?  I applaud your consistent allegiance to the SLIAC!  I wish we had more people like you (and your wife that allows it)!  It should be a fun weekend in the SLIAC!!

I'll try to post updates on here tomorrow for the Mac/Greenville game.  I will not be able to attend.  Not feasable for me to go.  I'll have someone calling me though.  It kills me not to be able to go!  ARGH!!

GO GREENVILLE!

hopefan, I may not have my cell phone with me at all times tonight, so please leave a voice mail. I'll call you when I can if you havent' been able to reach me.

Mac Attack

...or EC, BC, FU, WC, and MC wins:

MMacMurray 11-4
Eureka 11-4
Fontbonne 10-4
Webster 10-5
Greenville 9-6
Westminster 8-6
Blackburn 7-7

BIG game for MacMurray tonight on several levels. Highlanders could really zero in on the post-season and a high seed with a win tonight. A loss would put tremendous pressure on Mac to win two of its last three (Fontbonne, @ Blackburn, Maryville) and give Greenville a huge boost. Lots of marbles on the table tonight in Jacksonville. The game of the season as far as I'm concerned. Which team from MacMurray will show up tonight - the team that played the first half at Westminster or the team that stormed out of the gate against Eureka? For a team that was picked to finish 7th, hired a coach in June, has one recruit on its roster, starts one senior, and saw its tallest player quit three games into the season, MacMurray is in a remarkable position. A loss tonight wouldn't be lethal. But a win tonight would set the Highlanders up to make a legitimate run at the regular season league championship. Who'd a thunk it.....

Mac Attack - Are you trying to tell us that only one member of the MC team was recruited to Mac for basketball. Tough for me to beleive.

BunchTime

FC...I agree with you too...that is very hard to believe that the Mac roster has one guy who showed up on campus, that the coach recruited, to pay ball!  Perhaps Mac was referring to Hettinga (sp?) only able to obtain 1 recruit, while the previous coach left some of his personnel!

hopefan

I too believe that's what Mac was referring to  -  that after Coach Hettinga got the job, he was able to recruit one player - the roster includes 3 frosh; I think the player recruited by Hettinga was Farrid Coleman, whom came from Michigan as a JC transfer, same area as coach came from.

Now that I can beleive. Anybody heard any news on Hoggatt? WU needs a win tonite to keep STL's chances of hosting alive.

Mac Attack

Sorry for the lack of clarity. Hettinga, who came on board in June, only recruited one player, and that was Farrid Coleman. This spring, Seth Whalum, Nic Hipshur, Dawson Huff, Jimmy Michaels, and Adonis Fuller all graduate. Whalum is the only starter. Two replacements for next season are already enrolled and on campus, and the word is both are very, very athletic. I have a hunch that Hettinga will bring in others similar to Coleman who can step right in and contribute, including a post player. With starters Coleman, Compton, Robertson, and Greene all returning, along with key bench players Long and Schmidt, the Highlanders should be tough again.

BunchTime

Mac...Kudos to Coach Hettinga for getting these kids to perform to this level...Coach Bunch had to do essentially the same thing and it really limits recruiting and can have a big effect on the upcoming year...looks like Mac has a lot of promise in the future with Hettnga at the helm!
