Mac Attack

fcnews - just sent you # via pm. Either you or hopefan can call at the half and when it's over. I didn't realize Maryville won earlier this season at Westminster, something MacMurray didn't do. And the Saints have lost a ton of close games - will be interesting to see what they bring to the floor tonight.

I know we could play the "what if" game all day long, but looking back at MacMurray's conference season. They lead by 20 with 8 minutes to play at Greenville - and lost at the buzzer on a stick back. The next day, they trail by 15 early at Fontbonne, then come back to lead by five with about ten minutes left - and lose by nine.  And go into overtime at Westminster, missed four point blank shots right after the tip, and wind up losing by seven. Three games MacMurray could have won, all tough ones on the road. To think this team could have been 17-1.... It's not like the Highlanders couldn't close the door on tough ones - they did it at Webster, they did it at Eureka, they did it at Blackburn (without Robertson), they did it at Maryville, they trailed by 15 at home against Greenville and got it done, and they pulled one out of the hat last Saturday against Maryville (without Robertson). And this doesn't even count the near death experience at LCC. The only game they were never really close was the home game against Webster. Guess all of the teams have similar stories, in terms of what might have been. That being said, the Highlanders are absolutely thrilled to be in the position they are in and will be well prepared Friday night, regardless of the opponent.

Your right Mac. This game v. MU would be meaningless if FU doesn't lose two first semester games at the buzzer on, wow how did that happen, shots. 14-4 would be much nicer. And then their were 3 more last second non conf. losses. What if?

FC -I'm a little torn tonight, but will really be rooting for Font, because they deserve to be in the final 4....  but i want to see a close game just to watch you sweat it out!!!!

Let's make sure we coordinate our calls tonight so we're not getting repetitive info...   The more communication with Panther, the better!!!!
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

FU only deserves to be in the "Battle on Big Bend" if they beat MU tonite. I beleive you will all notice tonite that FU's post - season starts with tonites play in game.

Mac Attack

Home base for the MacMurray Highlanders and fans will be the Courtyard St. Louis Westport Plaza. Not sure how far that is from Webster University but we'll find it one way or the other. I would think there's plenty of places to eat, etc. in that area.

furbug

While the rest of you are keeping track of everything tonight, furbug will be at Vianney for the Webster High School Boys tournament game. Tomorrow night he will be there for the Webster High School Girls tournament game. Now they are boys and girls. When they get to college they will be men and women. It is miraculous the difference the one year from high school senior to college freshman makes.

Anyway furbug does not care about tonight's outcomes. Whatever team comes in 4th will be a tough challenge for Webster.  ;D That statement is not made out of any semblance of objectivity, so nobly demonstrated by the rest of you. You will all find out soon enough that furbug (Junior Varsity) makes no pretense at being objective. Surely y_jack_lok (Second-stringer) can attest to that.

Webster opens its baseball season at Wash U. on Thursday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m.

Mac Attack - Very nice Hotel. Alittle ways from the action. I suggest, If I may, to do your dining and other activities down around the tourney site. Just to get the feel for the area the STL students and families live in. Great Dining. The Best Shopping ( for the ladies ). Great Pubs. Historic Forest Park area. Including "Dogtown". I'll post my list after tonites game.

furbug

Left out of furbug's last post for some reason was the statement just before that regarding objectivity or the lack thereof, "Webster will win the tournament." furbug tried to highlight it, but evidently lost it. He has to get used to doing this.

I noticed on MapQuest it was a pretty good walk from the hotel to the gym. At least the weather will be semi-nice, although it looks like we made need an umbrella, which is OK. Looking forward to your suggestions of local establishments, which are always my favorite places. Should have a nice crowd of the Highlander faithful coming into town. Looking forward to having a good time.

Furbug - Homer's are more then welcome on here. I like the purple color of your printing.

Mac Attack - Walking is definately OUT of the question.

FU_Pride

Huge game for the Griffins tonight.  FU hasn't won at Maryville for awhile now....it is time to end that streak tonight!!!  Let's not worry about any game but ours....win we are in!!!!!! Go Griffins!!!!

fcnews

FU_Pride - Will the Purple Rain be in full force tonight? Coach and staff including Bob have been through a long three years to get here.

Mac Attack

OK - walking is out. Looks like a massive car-pool. We'll have to drop breadcrumbs on the way so we can find our way back...

I didn't realize that Fontbonne has had trouble winning at Maryville in the past. I know that Maryville was very good last year, but I would think that the Griffins have brought some pretty good teams over there in the past few years, but I really have no way of knowing the strength of the teams in recent times or how the games went. And of course none of that matters tonight. Almost as big a game tonight in Greenville. Westminster has to win and hope the Saints can get it done.
