Dang.  Another bad grade.  Shoot.

Pride - is that 3 pm CT or is Oakland City an hour ahead?

Oakland City is on Central Time.  I visited the facilites at OCU and it's great place.  The SID, Dave Terrell, has done alot of work getting stats and info togeather.  It should be fun.

Pride is correct. Very nice small college arena. I like the sky box with it's own hospitality room.

Pride - If you see men's Basketball Coach Sandifar tell him the McKinney's said hello. Very close friend. Great guy. Pride ask him the name of the roadside steak house he took us to in Novemeber. Great Food.

Pride - I'm listening and I'm taking notes. May have to give Matt Wiener a call at ESPN. It's nice having friends in "High" places.

I know this is the Men's board. But, good luck to the Lady Panther's. The Lady Oaks beat FU by 30.

Pride is the only announcer I've heard that openly complains about more ref calls then me.

Hey, thanks for listning those who did.  GC played well, just couldn't pull the win out.  Final game for SLIAC basketball is Saturday at 1pm.  Opponent either Emmanuel or N. Greenville.

Congrats to the Washington Univ. Bears. Two to Go !!!

to my SLIAC cohorts  -  went up to Stevens Point to see Wash U and Hope win on Friday, with Wash U winning the Sectional on Saturday  -  a great time  -  really wish our kids could experience crowds like that.   Great fan support from both the student body and the local community for both Stevens Point and Hope Hope brought probably 500-600- Carroll had maybe 150 to 200 - Wash U less than 100.  Had Hope and Stevens Point played Saturday, demand could have pushed 4000 for 2700 seats . would have been a MESS!

Bodes well that the competitive level I witnessed Stevens Point  and Hope give Wash U was not that much more than I saw from Fontbonne.  The maturity that Fontbonne gains as the youngsters turn into Sophs and Juniors next year will really help.    Wash U will serve as a great measuring stick next year  to see how Font and Webster play them  -  hey, only 9 months away.

Commish could you please get someone to correct the tournement attendance marks. If there was only 450 for the semi's, there couldn't of been 450 for the finals.

OK just for viewing and discussion. After a great SLIAC season, let's take a small look forword. These are in order of how they finished in '07.

WU – 3 seniors / returns 3 starters

Losses 21.2 ppg, 9 rpg and 137 assists.
Spinner will be very tough to replace. Best floor general in the conference.
Return – Hoggitt ( 2 time all-sliac ), Kuhn ('06 all-sliac) and an improving Herdlicka. Who will run this show.

MC – 5 seniors / returns 4 starters

Losses 23.0 ppg. And depth.
Whalum appeared to be the sole of the team.
Return – Coleman ( all-sliac ) and Robertson ( all – sliac ) and a lot of experience. Needs some size.

EC – 4 seniors / returners 2 starters

Losses 45.8 pts. And 14 rebs.
Tarpley, Richards and Peffer were the core to this team.
Return – McComb ( solid kid ), Darnell and Zasada ( who played very well down the stretch ). Who is going to score and need size bad.

FU – 0 seniors / returns entire team

Losses – opportunity !!!
Return – Fogerty (all – sliac), White (NOY), McCoy ('06 all-sliac), Storandt ('06 all-sliac) and Fournie, Dill, Lovette ( who played a great sliac tournament ) and and Cartez Parker (Hope's choice as best sliac pt., early).

GC – 2 seniors / return 4 starters

Loss – The leadership and defense of Bryson Taylor.
Return – Great core of Simmons (all-sliac), Conquest (all-sliac) and Ellis. Hope to see more out of Hensold next season. Needs big man.

WC – 3 seniors / return 4 starters
Loss – Scott Dygert, who thought was very under rated.
Return – Buxton (healthy all-sliac), Davis (all-sliac), Kurz (all-sliac) and a ton of talent.

MU - I put in the same category as last years FU squad. There is some talent there and they have got a year under their belt. Need to add some pieces and who knows.

Based on what's returning, I guess you gotta like WC's squad again next year. Can they stay healthy and cut down on bad losses. This is just my personal opinion. I think WU's loss of Scott Spinner will be hard to overcome early, but they still have Kuhn and Hoggatt so they can score points.

Just some thoughts

Good analysis, fc. You left out Blackburn and Prin. And is it true, what I've heard, that Lincoln Christian will not be joining th SLIAC after all? With a 9 team conference that means 16 conference games, leaving 9 non-conference. I actually like that breakdown, although I know scheduling can sometimes be a challenge.

I said at the beginning of this just completed season that you were underrating Fontbonne in your posts. You might be doing the same now by giving a nod to WC as possible team to beat next season. I think Fontbonne will be the team to beat next seasson. The newcomers at each school could change things, though.
