I read all these posts about Coach Siener and the request from y_jack_lok for some poetry.
And so I present:

A Haiku, Inspired by Coach Siener

Motion - to the hoop
Better take a "30", coach
Webster scored again

y_jack_lok

Very nice, buncherrific. Keep on doing that. I really apreciate the creativity. Perhaps a limerick next time???

Mr. Ypsi

Yeah, I think the MWC has a copyright on haikus! ;D

Looking at the schedule FU returns from Chi Town for 5 straight home games. Two of which are conference games against WU and Mac.

FU's new roster is now up on FU's site. Remember these kids are list by elgibility status.

Bunchtime - I have free texting this year. That means more game updates.
Pride- How does Puget look this year?
Hope - Could be alot of free Pizza at the Dunham Center.
Yjak - You and the Mrs. can call ahead for seating. I'll get you a seat near    Mr. Storandt for the FU v. WU throw down.

Good Luck to all the schools. It's a great time of year. Hopes are high and everybody is undefeated.

Bunchtime you must come home this year if we get to FU v. WU "2" in late feb.

BunchTime

FC, I will be in town to see Webster's opening 2 games this year in the opening tourney... Also, I will make my way back to STL if Webster-Fontbonne shapes up to be the top 2 teams battling in February!

furbug

OK, the recent requests for poetry have brought furbug back to listing.
I loved buncherrific's Haiku. On a lesser intellectual plain, however, I submit the following:

Fontbonne, Fontbonne, Fontbonne,
All we hear is Fontbonne,
Do not take this to heart.
Wait for the games to start!

Webster's squad's a "Bunch".
With 25 they say.
A little play there on the name,
"Siener" is tough to fit this game.

But both these guys know what to do
To mold this team to number one.
We have to wait another month,
Before we see the real fun!

Their hands are really full,
To make charades of Fontbonne bull.
From 25 to pick the best,
So Gorloks are the SLIAC pest.

Corey, Darin come up big,
The Griffins' grave to dig.
Newcomers will emerge.
To sound the funeral dirge.

Then when all is said and done
We will see who really won.
The grand results will be uncanny,
And then we say,
"Fontbonne, my fanny!"

Boy it is obvious we need the season to start.  ???

Hopefan, I don't think I was taking you to task. Actually it was Pat Coleman who made the initial jibes, and he is the Site Administrator. In his position that seems uncalled for. I just don't understand why, if we want posters for whatever information they wish to share, that we attack the messenger, even though Attack is part of his name.  (author Furbug)

We haven't heard from good ol' Fuzbugger since June and this is the best he can muster for his first post of the season. Someone Hates way to much and needs to find a hobby. ;D

furbug

It was just meant to be funny, fcnews – just a joke, nothing more – a little levity. I did not mean to upset you at all, certainly not enough to go back and research the past. Talk about needing a hobby?

buncheriffic

Here is an original short screenplay I am working on about the SLIAC. I thought I would share it here for some feedback.

HOPEFAN
I don't like this Conference! It's - it's dark and creepy!

HOPEFAN
Do - do you suppose we'll meet any wild animals?

FCNEWS
Some - but mostly GRIFFINS and GORLOKS and SAINTS.

HOPEFAN, Y-JACK-LOK, FCNEWS
GRIFFINS and GORLOKS and SAINTS! Oh My!

HOPEFAN
Oh My! The GRIFFIN!

GRIFFIN
Hah! Put 'em up! Put 'em - up! Which one of you first? I'll fight you both together, if you want.

HOPEFAN
You're nothing but a great big coward!

GRIFFIN
You're right, I am a coward! I haven't any courage at all. I even scare myself.

Y-JACK-LOK
Oh, that's too bad. Don't you think COACH BUNCH could help him, too?

HOPEFAN
I don't see why not. Why don't you come along with us? We're on our way to see COACH BUNCH now.

GRIFFIN
Well, wouldn't you feel degraded to be seen in the company of a cowardly GRIFFIN? I would.

HOPEFAN
No, of course not! It's all right now. COACH BUNCH'll fix everything.

GRIFFIN
It - it's been in me so long I just gotta tell you how I feel

PANTHERS and BEAVERS and BLUE JAYS! Oh my!

What are we coming to?

Long Distance Traveler

Hello, I have been a visitor to this site for the last 3 years and I finally decided to join in with the conversation.  I have very close ties with Webster (player) and have only missed 3 of the Gorlok games in the last two years.  The last couple pages confirm the earlier observation that we need to get the basketball season started soon!!!  My source at Webster says that the practices so far have been very productive.  I would like to thanks D3SPORTS.COM for maintaining this website.

y_jack_lok

Great to have you, Long Distance Traveler. Looking forward to seeing you at games.

Yes, we are desparate for some basketball, resorting to all kinds of unusual methods to keep conversation going and the board interesting.

Pat Coleman

Long Distance Traveler -- don't forget to dribble before lifting your pivot foot.

OK, yeah, it's late. Welcome aboard. :)

Fontbonne, Webster...Webster, Fontbonne...

Blah, blah, blah, blah...  ;)

Heck, Hopefan. Why have them play only 3 times? Why doesn't the SLIAC just schedule Webster and Fontbonne to play 18 times and have all the other teams play for 3rd? Maybe by the 17th or 18th match up you'd get your fill?

Welcome, L.D.T. Good advice, Pat. Then again, Patrick Ewing made a career out of long distance traveling, so maybe it's not so bad if you can find the right refs. Come to think of it, maybe Ewing possessed some compromising photos of the right mob bosses  ;D.

Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all year.

hopefan

Long Distance Traveller - may it be a relatively snow free winter!!!!
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!
