I hope I didn't start anything with the Matt Schmidt comment "undersized post player". They do list size and weight on all or most rosters. Matt is a solid built and stocky (6'4 ?). He will have big games against alot of teams. But, Saturday he was guarded by a 6'8 guy that was long and athletic and he wasn;t a factor.

Brian Fogerty is an undersized post player 6'3 1/2, 225. But, he has the footwork and strength to play some nights like 6'6. Ellis is bigger then Brian. Does he work as hard as Fogerty? Does he want it as bad as Fogerty? Does Ellis even consider himself a post? You get what you get. Corey Kuhn is a 6'7 three point killer against Fontbonne and is oversized at his position in the SLIAC.

I can only laugh that we are talking about this still.  I guess that is the world we live in, where the almighty self-esteem and sensitivity to others are paramount to anything else.  That said, imagine the endless "offense" that those of you who came to Ellis' defense (as if he needed it) would suffer if he were playing DI ball.  The comparisons would be endless, and made on a much larger medium then a message board, similar to what Michael Jordan's son at Illinois faces.

Or Patrick Ewings son, strickly size speaking. Talking about size. Any word on BC's two players? That would really hurt BC's chances.

Early season (over / under} prediction on wins needed to reach post season. - 10

Careful FC, we don't want to offend anyone by talking about height.

And if players heights are listed on a roster, hypothetically you could have a Greenville roster and a Denver Nuggets roster side-by-side and notice the height diffirence and say to the person next to you, "Hey, Ellis Sr. is 5 inches taller then his son.  Thats too bad."

Perhaps we should stop listing heights because a 5 foot-something player may be offended because he feels inferior to a 6-footer.

For those Basketball Fans out there. It should be a great atmosphere for a game. The Red Alert, The Bear and the Wash U. band. Hopefully will have our first appearance by the Griifin. What a costume!!! Any thing to increase the noice level. Alot of emotions between student bodies. A tighter enviroment then these two teams last meeting. Possible full house.

This game will let FU know were they stand, against a team they may see again this year.

Just heard who was on the game tonite. This could be a UFC Pay-Per-View!!!!!
Wow, I can;t believe that.

Speaking of rough. MU must be playing some physical basketball. Wash U. game Wallis, and then BC has two go down.

Let's Get Ready to Rumbleeeeee!!!!!!

FC  - what do you mean??  officials I'm guessing...  Should be fun

Can the lady's game be competiitive ?
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

fcnews

Bring your boxing gloves. Or, your peanuts. Cause if your not in the octagon, your just a spectator. This will be a rough and possibly exciting evening of basketball. The women's game could be fun to watch. Wash U's women would be considered down this year. On a Wash U standard. Can FU win?

Men's game? You've got three choices. 1. A close FU win. 2. A close Wash U win. 3. A Big Wash U. win. If both Nading and Ruths have good games, it will be a tough nite for the home team. This is still a Top 20 team.  I think you have to take the ball at the Bear's Big Man. Number One, key to keep this game winnable, try to limit Ruths minutes.

Let's have a good game and let the better team on the floor tonite, win!!!

After a quick check, this is the only game in town. SLU, SIU-E, UMSL, Lindenwood, Mobapt, McKendree, and all other DIII's are idle. And the Fontbonne v. Wash U. game is free. And, we should see the best crew of officials this area has to offer.

At least you'd hope so...  we know how our officials can be.  ::)

Halftime @ Eureka...Millikin 31, EC 30.

Michael Zasada, Eureka's #2 scorer and top rebounder is NOT playing in this game. Rugged first half...few calls, but consistently so and neither coach has been too upset...Eureka did not get to the line...Millikin was 2-6...EC shooting 42% and 4-10 on threes...MU at 39 % and 3-11 on threes...7 points each for Ogunleye and Rexroade for MU...8 points for McComb, 7 for McCoy and Wildenradt for EC...McCoy hit a circus shot just before half to get it back to a 1 point game...Millikin led most of the way, but never by more than 6...I'll be back late tonight with more.

Final Wash U. 73 FU 58
14-17 from 3's for Wash U.

BunchTime

Man, that is red hot from 3...  Say FU holds them to 7-17 (which is still very good), it is a different ballgame!

Marty Peretz

WU played its bench quite a bit. This game was never in doubt. Wash.U. had way more fans than FU, but still fewer than I anticipated. Nice try Griffins.
