He uses an RPI-style system similar to what the new OWP/OOWP is supposed to be like.  Right now, his Midwest region looks like this:----------

Reg Conf Rank Prior School                    Natl Status      Reg Overall

MW  74   01   02   Lawrence                  011  A w C       12-2 14-2
MW  90   02   01   Washington U.             015  C 3         11-3 14-4
MW  71   03   03   Augustana                 019  A w C       14-4 15-4
MW  90   04   06   Chicago                      058  C third     11-6 12-6
MW  71   05   04   Wheaton (Ill.)             061  C third     11-5 14-5
MW  71   06   08   Illinois Wesleyan         064  C third     10-6 11-8
MW  71   07   07   Elmhurst                      071                 13-5 14-5
MW  74   08   13   Carroll                         082                  10-5 11-5
MW  73   09   10   Aurora                         084  B 5           14-4 16-4
MW  76   10   14   Webster                           090                    11-5 13-5
MW  72   11   09   Defiance                      092  A other     12-6 14-6

Reg        Region
Conf       Conference number
Rank      Regional ranking
Prior       Prior regional ranking
School
Natl     National ranking based on regional results
Status
B + number: Pool B ranking (top 4 in tournament)
C + number: Pool C ranking of 17 teams in tournament
C second: second tier Pool C (spots 18-27)
C third: third tier Pool C (spots 28-37)
    A w C: Pool A, in likely Pool C range
A second: Pool A, in second tier Pool C
A third: Pool A, in third tier Pool C
    blank: lower level Pool C

One week out from the real rankings. Again, I've ranked three more teams per region than will be in the actual rankings, just to indicate the teams that are close.
----------

This was posted on the CCIW page early yesterday. With two wins this week Webster could move to 13-5 in region. With two Fontbonne wins they could move to 14-2 in region. Strength of schedule has already been dicussed. Next weeks first NCAA regional rankings could be interesting.

Other then good 'ol Pride. Is there anyone on my text mail list that needs in-game updates tonight. Speak up.

One of the very crucial measuring points for the SLIAC champ, whoever it might be, is that they need to be rated higher than single teams from other lower conferences  -   If we are the lowest rated conference winner in the midwest, we will almost certainly be the lowest rated team in whatever pod we are sent to.  That means playing the highly rated host team, on their floor on the first night of the tourney    -   which means little chance of our first  NCAA win

However, if we finish ahead of other qualifiers from, let's say the HCAC or NATHC, we could conceivably get a 3 seed in that 4 team pod - not playing the host team, and theoretically not playing a team as highly rated

The ratings FC shows are interesting in that our current leader is ranked AHEAD of the HCAC leader, Defiance, and just slightly behind the NATHC leader Aurora.

I would think that if either Webster or Fontbonne could win out  -  particularly Webster with a better stregth of schedule, that they would move to a spot ahead of those other two conferences, and have a good shot at not being relegated to a 4 seed.....  which would mean a better shot at legitimate opportunity for a win in the first round....

This little analysis also implies that I don't think there is any chance a SLIAC team will be in contention to host....
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Absolutley right Hopefan - One of our two teams really need to win out. Hosting a pod will have to wait for future teams.

Some good news today for Griffin fan's - The McCoy injury situation has improved. It appears that the cast will come off next monday. Which means he might see some game clock by next Saturday @ Principia. This gives Patrick plenty of time to get ready for conference tourney time. And, will allow Abozen to get alot more needed experience before.

Big night for the two teams seniors. Webster's Hoggatt, Robinson and Kuhn have a chance to repeat as Sliac Champs. For FU, it is the last chance for Fournie and Dressler to get a chance at a ring.

This should be fun.

WUHOOPS

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldnt that be three conference titles in four years for those three?  If my memory serves me correctly....Thats a pretty impressive run!!!

fcnews

Very impressive run, WUHOOPS. Would they trade three titles for a chance to go to the National Tournament?

WUHOOPS

Thats a very good question....  I would be willing to bet that they wouldnt trade their 3 conf titles and a potential chance at the National Tourny this year, to one of the FU seniors for their one trip to the tournament.

hopefan

Yes impressive work by that class  -  refresh my memory though..

Last year Webster won conference , Fontbonne the tourney
2 years ago, Maryville won conference and tourney  -  is that right?
3 years ago  -  help me out....

Point well taken, WUHOOPS.

Hopefan - Again, no host has won since 1994. Third year you asked about Webster hosted and Blackburn went to the tourney.

Only the NAIA folks call it the national tournament. Here we call it the NCAA Tournament.

Comments on Webster's Galaxy station::.

Do you think you can fix it where it doesn't take 10 minutes to load the site.  And maybe it's just on my end.  But it goes through six stages of loading before the site opens.  Not sure what the case is for others.  Maybe, again, its on my end.

I don't see any reference there to "national tournament," however.
