Eureka_SID -  I was pretty ticked off when you made comments about the Blackburn women's player in regard to the event that occured in last years season but after you realized the mistake and gave an apology, I am no longer mad.  Way to admit mistakes and now we can move on...
Go Beavers!

According to the SLIAC website Westminster beats Fontbonne 70-69 in OT.

WC down 3 with 3 seconds in regulation, inbound play to Warncke who was fouled shooting a 3 with .3 seconds left , made all three free throws to send it to overtime.

Fontbonne technical put WC up 2 at start of overtime.  Back and forth until Branch had a convention three point play to put FC up 1 with about 20 seconds.  WC came down, had about 4 shots and tips go up with Cade House finally tipping one in at the buzzer for the final margin.

Have not seen exact stats but Branch and Buxton were the main scorers with Buxton having around 30, probably more.

Proabably a good foul by Fontbonne on that 3 pointer by Warncke. Pressure situation having to make all 3 FTs. Kudos to Warncke.

Results tonight are leading to a coin toss for 4th between Greenville and Maryville...

I received a sympathy card from a number of posters today - thank you to the person responsible, and thanks to all who 'signed'.  I will be sharing it with my wife tomorrow, and will 'introduce' each of you to her -    thanks so very much.......

Final from Greenville, Illinois
Greenville 60, Eureka 57

A big pat on the back to the Greenville edition of the Orange Crush.  Big night and big win for the Panthers.

Greenville looks to have played very, very well.  They had a season tying low, seven turnovers.  They improved on their SLIAC leading field goal shooting percentage, shooting .500.  Individually, LaPhonso Ellis led the Panthers with 14 points and six rebounds, shooting 7-9 from the FT line.  The Ben Connection had decent nights with Hensold scoring 11 and Cochran at 13.  Christopher Simmons and Stephen Groves each had five assist and six and eight points respectively.

Bench play saw Andy Traeger and Chris "Take Me" Hohm score 4 each.

Eureka's Mark Darnall and Chris Beecher lead the way for the Red Devils.  Darnall had 19 while Beecher had 16.  Michael Zasada had nine rebounds to go with his eight points.  EC_SID will hopefully have more insight from this game.  I'm assuming he made the trip, but not sure.

Greenville looks to keep in the race as they send of four seniors on Saturday.

I see that Brian Fogerty did not play for Fontbonne last night, although I understand he was cleared to play by the doctor. Good decision by the coaching staff since regardless of the outcomes of the reamining few games of the season, Fontbonne and Westminster will be playing each other in he first round of the conference tournament.

Quote from Coach Rodger's Maryville Basketball Blog

"There is not much to say. In the last 2 minutes, we got out-coached and out-played."

Maryville chose to give it away, Webster accepted with open arms

This is the first game in awhile that I went into really rooting for one team over another - I really wanted to see the upset, see Maryville make the playoffs - it was VERY disappointing, no matter how close I feel to the Webster program...

Hopefan, c'mon, you don't want to see a perfect season by Webster?

Are there a few privileged few out there who do an evaluation of comments and decide that their disagreement with someone is cause for giving that person a negative rating?

It's anyone with 200 posts, not a privileged few. A privileged many, more like.

FU Fan

25 minutes is defininitely a appropriate punishment.
The FU bunch played awfully hard last night against a good WC team.
Some were asked to do things not normally asked of them and came through.
Walks were not called at all in the first half and we had more than them.
Can you spell goaltending ?
Get these guys some belts so they don't have to fool with their pants and can watch the players.
Buxton ---  awesome player from any part of the court.
McCoy-- he made it.
Panther I heard it was the kick that did the eye in, not the floor as was first thought, after the film was reviewed.
Now do you think the conference should be handling this ?
Can't wait for this tournament. I think it will be a good one.
