EC_SID and WU_SID - Also anyone who has contact to their schools SID. D3Hoops All Region voting ends next Monday. As a conference in the Midwest we need to cast our votes. Like they say about the presidential elections,"If you don't vote you can't complain."

FC brings out a good point - it's tough for a SLIAC player to make all Region, and it's even tougher if ALL SLIAC SIDs don't vote.

In 6 years of All Region voting, the SLIAC has produced only 3 All Region performers:

Drew Logan  Blackburn  2001-2002 3rd Team

Derek Suttles  Mac  2003-2004  2nd Team

Chris Tarpley  Eureka  2006-2007  2nd Team

(lest Eureka SID protest, I do not include Eureka's  Craig Negangard, 2003-4, third team, when Eureka was not a member of the SLIAC.)

That's 3 spots of 90 awarded

I remember being very disappointed when Maryville's Steve Bash, winner of the SLIAC MOP in 2003-4 didn't make it that year

Distribution of those 90 spots are:

CCIW  :  33
MWC   :  20
NATHC :  18
UAA  (Wash U and Chicago) : 8
HCAC   :   8
SLIAC   :   3

This year's SLIAC MOP, Brian Fogerty,  should be a solid candidate  - will be interesting to see......
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Jeff Reis was not All-Region when he played for Webster?  Wow!  He put up guady numbers!

I agree Hopefan. Brian was a Pre Season DIII News All American selection and he sure didn't dissappoint us in the SLIAC this year. His possible place on the D3Hoops All Region Team will require votes from a lot of coaches and SID's who have never seen him play. I have posted on all the other midwest conferences for info about their players. I've had no response. Will our conferences POY garnish any respect?

Having played against Suttles i can tell you that he was a VERY confident player and he needed something like 60 points to break some scoring record (i dont remember details about it) going into the last game against Webster and Coach Bunch was talking before the game and was like "im sure i dont need to go over Suttles too much because you all know what's at stake with him". Come halftime he had 32. Lets just say that we definately went over what we needed to change! The only reason he did not get it was because he got benched because he went after his coach and was close to physically hitting him. Needless to say it was quite a night!

That's an interesting way of ending your career. Derek was a heck of a scorer.

There ya go Hopefan, back to +70 K, the rest you'll have to earn the old fashion way. ;D

Millsaps is #1 in the current Massey Rankings, Maryville (TN) and Mary Hardin - Baylor were #14 & 15. I guess Fontbonne was in good company down in Jackson.

There are four SLIAC schools represented on the regional ballot (WU, WC, MU and FU). Let's hope one of these players gets a look.

Scoreboard Update from Tacoma, Wash. (Women's Lacrosse)

Puget Sound 22, Fontbonne 7 (2nd Half / 12:34)

Thought everyone would want to know what's happening in the world of lacrosse.

It's good to see FU's first team has at least scored. ???

Final Score, for those who care, was...

Puget Sound 24, Fontbonne 10

Fontbonne's Radeackar had 5 of the Griffins 10 goals.

In the end Massey has Webster (320) and Fontbonne (340) in strength of schedule. Go figure. When it all shakes out the bottom of the SLIAC really destroys the numbers.

Seven SLIAC schools have yet to vote for All-Region. Deadline in less than 11 hours.

Just an assumption that Greenville probably hasn't voted...

Well the SLIAC Room will be represented at the D3 Final Four in Salem this weekend - I'll be picking up Yjak at 3:00 AM Friday morn - the 11 additional hours with limited stops and hopefully no tickets shoud get us to Salem Va in plenty of time for the opening tip....   If I can't watch a SLIAC team in the final 4, there's no one I'd rather watch than Wash U and Hope.

Quite seriously, if any other reader/poster is interested in coming along, PM me  -  the more the merrier  -  haven't been able to talk FC into coming along yet!!!    Eureka SID, how about it????
