Elmhurst has a 10 am shoot around scheduled. Don't know if they came down tonite or are leaving that early tomorrow. So for weather holding.

Fontbonne received first Top 25 votes in school history. Hope we can show the voter(s) it was deserved.

It's plural.  I had the Griffins #25.  That means either 2 more voters had them there, or one more had them #24.

Great opportunity for Fontbonne's seniors tonight  -  this could be THE game that they will always remember....

Congrats to FU's Patrick McCoy for being named SLIAC Player of the Week. 33 pts against Rust and 18 pts against Wash U. Good Job Patrick.

Here is to hoping that Mac can play well tonight and keep it close with 5 minutes to go to give themselves a chance at a upset.  I am sure Coach Creal with have his men fired up for this one in the Highlanders house.

Yes good Luck to Mac tonite. Good showing for the SLIAC.

Bummer for Fontbonne. Hard to know if this is an emotional letdown after getting up for consecutive games against the #1 and #10 ranked teams. Probably won't be seeing anymore Top 25 votes this season. But knowing the mindset as has been repeatedly articulated by fcnews, FU will now be preparing for the march to March.

To reiterate what Yjak said, I can't imagine any SLIAC team, with the exception of Westminster, can be pleased with their current nonconference record, but in reality in January the season is starting all over - 4 teams are going to the SLIAC conference tourney, an event that has been tremendously exciting for the SLIAC faithful year after year, and the winner will have the thrill of going to the NCAA.  Fontbonne showed a vulnerability against Elmhurst (little answer to getting the offense started against wing pressure), and suffered a huge letdown and a bad loss to Rose Hulman.  Yes, it's disappointing, as I has high hopes for some national attention for the Griffs, especially after their performance at Wash U, but in a way it invigorates my outlook for the SLIAC conference competition - There are SLIAC teams that can compete with Fontbonne.  It could be a real horse race!

The room will likely slow down this next two weeks with FC away and virtually no games until January - Just wanted to say Happy Holidays to the regular writers, as well as to the coaches and players who read these pages.  Stay focused, prepare yourselves for a great January, February!!!

WOW !!! ONLY positive is no Fatalities to report from that "Train wreck of a Week".

I couldn't express my thoughts any better then the two previous posters have. So, I will agree entirely. I like that phrase Yjak, "The march to March".

Thanks for the comments guys. Happy Holidays to All my "D3Hoops" friends.

Maryville gets another lesson in D2 hoops, losing at So Indiana by 40.... Now Ben Koopman finally gets a chance to play and does well - good to see

Of more interest are strong performances by westminster and Eureka  -  Westmin wins at Central by 10, and eureka loses close to a solid Benedictine team   --   more ammo to show that both these teams will compete for a SLIAC playoff spot.......
