y jak, I was aware of the Spalding game but I was mainly focusing on the remaining conference games. They could play the JV against Spalding and it wouldn't have any effect on their conference standing.  But I should have specified.

I thought twice about mentioning the milestone.  But then I thought, nothing on this board will ever directly effect an outcome on the court.  That's up to the players competing to decide.

As for the talk about the Newcomer of the year....gotta be Forrest.  Not saying that others wouldn't be deserving or shouldn't be mentioned in the discussion but I'm pretty sure that just by the numbers he will get the nod after the season.  Although he does have  a lot of help around him.

BLA, I may be a little more superstitious than you. I assume the players are aware of this, but my reason for being concerned about a jinx is if they weren't. Hopefully, now that it's out there for everyone to know, the team will go to war to get their coach that 100th win.

Sorry about my guess of Stacey Ross as NOY. He was MVP in '94, no NOY award that year. Good year for milestones. One I failed to mention about 4 games ago, Josh Branch became the 16th player in Fontbonne history to score 1000 pts. Also, the third of this group to do it in their junior year.

I don't like someone coming in and calling the SLIAC a joke  -  Every game I've seen this year with one exception (Font at Maryville) has been down to the wire - EXACTLY why I enjoy SLIAC Hoops so much.....

I am with Hopefan on this. What constructive purpose does a comment like this serve? These are all good student athletes playing for the sake of the game. There is good competition. I saw a terrific game last week between two of the bottom 6, and I saw one of the bottom 6 knock off one of the top 3 before that, and I hope to see that happen again this weekend. Please define "joke" for us, and then explain it to these athletes.

You guys got trolled by a drive-by poster. It happens occasionally on Posting Up. I wouldn't worry too much about it, because within a couple of days the poster will most likely have forgotten that he ever posted in here.

To those athletes from PC and BC (the only two teams I can think of that he's addressing), don't think this is the view of the majority of SLIAC followers.

It takes alot more for an athlete to take the field of competition in the down seasons, then for a person to take pot shots from behind the curtain of an anonymous name.

I for one admire these athletes.

what happened to my freedom of speech? now you want to throw me under the bus fcnews? ok that is fine. however i also am an avid sliac follower so dont be so quick to judge, i just think this year lacks some talent and if put up against OTHER CONFERENCES they would proabably get worked. so there is my OPINION lets see how much you two tear that apart. have fun.

Oneandonly- If you read my post I don't think I infringed on your freedom of speech one bit. It was just a statement directed to the athletes who read this site. Take a look at your Karma. No one has stepped on you for your comments.

I'm just defending the student athletes efforts and letting them know that this poster does not find them a JOKE.
