You are better than that comment juniormint.

Reread your post and let me know if you're better than yours.  To be honest I couldnt tell you and Im not going to tell you.  Ill judge myself, no one else.  Until you can objectively look at other peoples posts, which share their honest opinions and viewpoints at the time, I will not waste my time reading your posts.

To the rest of the forum.  I in no way meant to bash Greenville or Fontbonne today.  The word uninspired came to me as an adjactive to describe the way I read, heard and reasoned to believe they [Greenville] played Saturday.  The words "uninspired" and "let-down" were, from my viewpoint, meant to be post game analysis, predicted early.  Such as Maryville beats Greenville who has an
"uninspired" effort tonight.  Fontbonne has a "let-down" against rival Webster.

Sorry for the confusion but I will not back down from my posts and do not think I was being nonsensical, unfair, or even rude.  I do understand that the statements may have been construed by others in a different light, and if that is the case I apologize to the offended parties.

I will continue only to judge my own posts and not others, as tempting as it may be.  On the other hand, I would love to argue any point with any of you at any time, but I'll leave the name calling to the kids in my middle school classroom.

Thanks
JR MINT

You got to your original post before even allowing me to comment on it.  My, how easily a post written with emotion can be edited...

Do you think Greenville and Fontbonne were uninspired  or let-down going into tonight's games?  Do you think Coach Barber or Coach McKinney went into the games uninspired or let down about the games tonight?  That's what I'm getting at juniormint.  How can you say any student-athlete in the country goes into a game uninspired or even goes and doesn't give an inspired effort.  This isn't the NBA where you can take a night off.

These student-athletes don't play "uninspired."  They don't go into games with their heads hung and let-down about a game.

I'm fine with a post game assessment of "uninspired."  Although I cannot fathom any team playing uninspired.  Can you?  But to say that a team will play uninspired is again bogus.

And yes, I edited my post after posting it.  What of it?  I chose to use words that was inappropriate out of frustration.  Problem with that?

Webster took FU out back of the woodshed tonite. Great Game by Sr. Ryan Turk. Hot Hot Hot

hs_pg_qb

Prior to last night's game, I had overheard that the Griffins were going to change the outcome from the previous match up by "denying Turk."  Well, I hate to say it but, the Grifs failed...miserably.  I don't know if Turk had the game of his life or what, but he was on fire.

Sitting there watching the warm-ups and looking at the size difference, I thought to myself, Let Turk do whatever he wants, there is no way Webster can match up in the paint.

FC_news-  I feel you may take this personally but, even after the blow-out...because that is what it was, I STILL can't figure it out.  WHY doesn't McKinney just get the ball into Fogerty until they stop him???  ANY time he had it down there, he did whatever he wanted with it...

Unfortunately, with virtually no help from anyone else on the team, Fogerty and Forrest just couldn't do it by themselves.

Oh well...Hopefan...is there ANYWAY we don't have to travel for the Tournament?

Razor Back

According to the box score, Miller had 22 rebounds for Mac last night.

Looking at the SLIAC website, that ties the conference record for most rebounds in one game.

How big is Fontbonne's game at Greenville this Saturday?

The "March to March" may be on the line.

Webster may win out.

Eureka, Maryville and Greenville can do a lot of damage.

Parity reigns.

Are some teams "playing up?" Or are some teams "Playing down?"

Maybe both.

I've already addressed these issues in previous posts, Panther.  I did my best to clear up my intentions to the whole board.  I feel as though everything I post on this subject will be judged by you, based solely on the way you interpreted my initial post.

I dont have a problem with anything you say to me on a message board.  My only problem is figuring out how this discussion has digressed so far.

Please find in one of my posts where I said, "Greenville (or any team) will go into tonight's game with their heads hung and let-down."

I think Maryville gets a win over an uninspired Greenville team tonight.

And Fontbonne has a let down tonight and Webster handles them.

An uninspired Greenville team, lacking confidence and production.  I never questioned heart, concentration, or emotion.  I'm done explaining myself.  As I said before, I've already addressed these points, now for the second time.

Since you want to question and prove wrong everything I write, convince me Greenville was inspired last night.  Assure me Fontbonne didnt have a mental or physical let down last night.

Interesting post from that new guy regarding Fontbonne's game plan - I wondered something even a little different - why didn't they go to Storandt down low - he seemed to have Nick Jones on him much of the night - Storandt is totally stronger, and capable of powering to the basket against someone like that.

other thoughts -
Turk just ate up Branch, and pretty much whoever else guarded him

Forrest gets 8 shot attempts???   Guys, he's in the top 5 NCAA FG %...

Missing from the Fontbonne bench was Terrance Lovette - what did or didn't he do now....

Branch doesn't play the first 10 minutes of the second half after he fails to defend in the first half - let's hope it's a learning experience, and not a chance to pout - Fontbonne needs him in the lineup if they are to make another run at an NCAA slot - still, Branch's attitude has left much to be desired in the past.

Fogerty and Forrest -what a one two punch - how about co-MVPS

or, has Ryan Turk worked his way into the conversation after last night..

Nick Jones - not as much as he's capable of this year, but he sure feasts on Fontbonne

Steve Hrdlicka - unsung hero of the year  - no 2 on that list may be Luke Niebrugge..

CLASS ACT (in capital letters) Webster Doug Stiegemeier - here's a senior who had been starting, but didn't get a second of action last night - I don't know why - performance, illness, injury? - but what I noticed was excitement and a smile on his face anytime I looked at him on the bench or during timeouts.....  TOTAL support to his teammates, whether he was playing or not..

Coach of the year candidates - Bunch or Mitchell or Wilde - each has gotten much from  people who contributed far less last year.

Still many scenarios - we may all go to Fulton - the last night regular season game between Fontbonne and Westmin should be huge  - a Fontbonne win could earn them the host spot, but in another scenario, could earn Webster the host spot....a Westmin win likely sends us west.....  Westmin laying low, Greenville almost down and out, Fontbonne losing confidence, Webster on a high after a horrible week, Eureka still the dark horse, Maryville in contention......   A great race to the finish

Why can't Fontbonne and Webster fill that place up for a big game like last night - very disappointing....  I guess thy're all studying..... :-\ :-\
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Thanks for the write up Hope.  Is there a box anywhere yet for that game?

So not a big crowd?  Like you said, wonder why, especially for that game.

Good points by all, on last nites game.

HS_PG - The ball did go to Fogerty almost all nite. When he's doubled and tripled someone else needed to step up and hit a couple of shots to relieve the pressure. No one did.

FU got 12 points from the starting guards who are averaging 30 together. Won't win on those stats.

Storandt disappeared at times on the floor. Give Hrdlicka credit for doing a good on Forrest in the second half.

Hopefan - You got as good an explanation as your going to get last nite on the the Lovette situation. That saga is OVER.

Bright Spot - FU still controls it's own destiny.

pantherpride06

Since you won't hear this from the Greenville folk, I'll be sure to make you aware of this...

Last night in the loss to Maryville (Mo.), junior LaPhonso Ellis joined the Greenville College 1,000 point club with his 20 points.  Ellis, from East St. Louis, Ill., now sits with 1,013.  He is just 240 shy of joining the top 10 scorers list in Greenville College history.

Thanks Hope.  I didnt look under the statistics page, just at the standings page with the scores.

Good point FC.  It seems as FU's guards go, they go.  Fogerty and Forrest seem to be super consistent.  Storandt is kinda on and off but I dont think he has to have a great game for them to win, at least offensively.  McCoy or Branch or both are off, they struggle.

Another great achievement by two SLIAC players, from the SLIAC website:

WEBSTER'S TURK, WESTMINSTER'S WARNCKE EARN SECOND TEAM ESPN THE MAGAZINE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT

ST. LOUIS - Webster University's Ryan Turk and Westminster College's Jason Warncke have both been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII Second Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Warncke, a senior, 6-1 guard from St. Peters, Mo. (Francis Howell Central) carries a 4.00 cumulative grade point average in biochemistry and has been accepted to two medical schools. He is a three-time St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Academic All-Conference selection and earned Honorable Mention All-SLIAC last season. Warncke is currently third on the Blue Jays' squad with an average of 11.9 point per game, while also averaging 3.7 rebounds per game and shooting 41.7 percent (75-of-180) from the field, 37.3 percent (28-of-75) from three-point range and 76.6 percent (36-of-47) from the charity stripe.

Turk, a senior, 5-9 guard from Aurora, Colo. (Smoky Hill), has a 3.84 grade point average and is a sociology major. He was a First Team All-SLIAC honoree last season, was named to the 2008 SLIAC All-Tournament Team and has helped lead his squad to two consecutive regular season conference championships. Turk is currently leading the Gorloks and is ranked second in the SLIAC with an average of 17.5 point per game. He has also tallied 79 assists, 28 steals and is shooting 42.6 percent (121-of-284) from the field and 80.5 percent (66-of-82) from the free throw line.

In order to qualify for the honor team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or above and be a starter or important reserve.

Congrats to All three mentioned student athletes. Well deserved in all cases. Hope Ellis has all out of his system by Saturday.

FU had a preety good size student section. WU's not as large as at home games. Not a bad size crowd though.
