Thanks Darryl.  Its all pretty mind boggling to me.  Ill just wait til after tomorrow night for someone to post on here and let me know who's in.

Tomorrows games for the BC men and women are definitely both highly anticipated. With a large student section that will be on hand, expect the Beaver Dome to be loud and crazy.
I'm expected a big night from 2 shooters in BC in that of Baro and Doehring.  Simmons will be looked to for controlling the offence while Sykes will need to continue his aggresive play with taking the ball strong to the basket.
With Simmons from Maryville hurt, look for BC's center Obie Farmer to take advantage of buckets in the paint.
Best of luck tomorrow to the men and women!

Dynasty, I hate to say it but Blackburns Center, Obie Farmer needs to get much better if he is to contribute positively in the middle for next year. Building up his arsenal of moves inside would definatly benefit his team as well as his scoring ability. I think that in the future Blackburn needs to get after recruiting more big men because one center on the team doesnt always cut it.

Looking forward to tomorrow's game there are a couple things I think WC needs to key on.

Fogerty is most likely going to get his average in points, hit some tough shots, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.  What WC can do is keep him off the line.  He shot 9 FT's in the first meeting making 6.

Branch and McCoy will likely hit a few threes but WC has to make them contested shots.  If they can contest all their shots it will be harder to let them get in a rhythm.  In the second half of the first matchup FU got too many uncontested looks at the basket, and a good team will hurt you for that.  WC needs to put pressure on the ball to try to force FU into hurried shots.

Finally WC needs to play bigger inside.  They need to try to get to the FT line more and rebound better.

They do those things I expect a W, but those things are not easy to accomplish against a team like FU.  Wish I could make it to the game!  Good luck to all the teams as they round out the regular season.

Good Overview Jr.Mint.

One player you didn't mention was Chris Forrest. He will be the best Griffin defender on the floor. He is also a deadly perimeter shooter and seems to find his shots around the rim. Could be a match up problem that the Blue Jay's didn't have to deal with in the first meeting.

Forrest is a force to be reckoned with and has been all season. Dont look for him to slow down in the playoffs. Hes going to be huuuuge in the playoffs is my prediction!

Let's remember, these are non-scholarship college kids ... and some of them read these boards
"Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience."

Furbug and Jada - This is an open board and I'm not against critiquing the play of individuals positively or negatively -  on the other hand there are more positive ways to get the message across than the manner one and only used - ie Obie Farmer needs to get much better if he is to contribute positively in the middle....

I agree that there is a place for constructively stated critiques, but JaDa is right that we ought to be sensitive to the players and parents who might read this stuff. I have no problem with the way you say what you say above. I also had no problem with your critique of Myrtie Reilly on the Women's Board (except that you spelled her first name wrong, but you never could get Hoggatt right either) ;D You pointed out some really good things about her play and talents, then ways in which she could improve. Both she and the coach can benefit from that. As far as this being an Open Board, why does everyone keep saying that? ??? No one says it is not, but that also means that anyone can also comment on another comment, and the poster needs to be responsible for it. I see in this case that oneandonly has recognized the comments made, apologized and amended it. Good for him! 8)

Since title hopes are still a live and before the outcome of the week transpires, I want to thank this group of Seniors.

Brian Fogerty, Patrick McCoy and Justin Storandt. Three players that didn't get cheated. Tonite will be game 102, 99 and 104 respectfully. Almost entirely as starters. Fogerty and McCoy have to be over 3000 minutes and Justin not to for behind.

They were not the most talented bunch coming in. But, they have taken every bit of the oppurtunity. Their tournament success has been unmatched. Now they have the chance to add the one last piece, a SLIAC Championship.

Guys it's been an exciting four years. Thanks for the ride. Have fun Senior Nite. Give 100% and the rest will take care of itself. That's all you can ask.

Good Luck Guy's

Throw Forrest in there with McCoy and Branch (I cant keep all those talented Griffins accounted for).  And WC will need someone to step up big if Forrest shuts down one of the Jays offensively.

I look forward to checking out the scores later tonight.  It's always bittersweet to see some teams go home after such an entertaining season but I guess that's the way sports go.  How awesome would it be to have an 8 team SLIAC tournament?  The 4 team setup definitely rewards those who have got it done all year though.  Good luck players and coaches!

juniormint

I would like to extend a congratulations to all of the SLIAC seniors on a great season.

The Westminster Blue Jay seniors are:  Ty Cochran #23, Mike Crawford #42, Kurt Kuschel #50, Buddy Sodemann #14, and Jason Warncke #4.

These seniors have a compiled record of 64-35 (44-19 SLIAC) and have never lost their final regular season home game.  Their record at THE NEST over 4 years: 33-8.

A win tonight would be huge for the Jays to host the tournament in THE NEST.  These seniors know how to win, unfortunately for the Jays, so do their opponents.

Freshmen want to make the team, Sophomores want to get playing time, Juniors want to start, Seniors want to WIN!  The seniors have a chance to do something special by bringing the SLIAC to THE NEST.  It's their team to lead.

Are there any scenarios that can take place to keep maryvilles men out of the tourney?????

one and   Maryville possibly out???  Absolutely

If they lose to BC (and without Simmons, that could happen) and Font beats Westmin (tossup), and Eureka beats Mac,      Maryville is out, Eureka is in.....
