Panther    Contact Randy Albrecht at Merrimac Community College (Basketball office)- he's on top of everything in the area......

Panther - Hopefan gave you the correct contact. Coach has been the league director for years.

In the past couple of years the quality of the league has slipped. This is mainly do to the fact that alot of the teams have players that spend the summer out of the area. ie Chris Forrest lives in Springfield, MO.

But hey, it's better then not playing at all. Will be nice to see the orange in the league

In today's Post Dispatch a very nice article about Theresa Lisch foregoing her final year of elgibility to marry Illiniois guard Trent Meacham.

The last paragraph of the article is relevent to this board.

The number of Lisches playing basketball at SLU will drop from three to zero. Her older brother Kevin finished his fourth season with the men's team and her younger brother Daniel, who was on the men's squad as a practice player, is expected to transfer to Fontbonne.

Congrats to Fontbonne's Brian Fogerty on being named to the D3hoops.com All-American team (Honorable Mention).

Thank you for posting that Titan Q.  I would also like to thank you for the coverage and the interest shown towards our conference this season. Brian deserves alot of credit.

As I said earlier, a shame that, particularly this year, Fontbonne is geographicly in the midst of all of the D3 power - a veteran squad couldn't compete with Wheaton, and likely wouldn't have been competitive with some of the others of the death squad , but in any of the other three brackets, might have been a real threat.

The above was posted by the SLIAC's biggest fan (Hopefan) on the CCIW board.

Watching the margin of victories by #1 over #16 in the DI Tourney, eases the disappointment of the FU showing a little. With the system that we have to work with, it will take a very special SLIAC team to post our first NCAA Tourney victory

If FU could of got a couple of early shots to fall and gained some confidence, maybe we could of had a better showing. Very disappointing considering we had the number 10 ranked UMH-B team beat till the final 40 seconds last year.

Very good run. Now we look forward to next year.

Brian Fogerty gets Second Team All Midwest Regional on the NABC All Regional teams.   He joins Aaron Thompson (First Team) and Sean Wallis and Tyler Nading  (three guys from a block down  ;D) on the 2 Midwest All Regional Teams.  What a great representation for St Louis D3 hoops - it's a great place to be if you are a D3hoops fan.....

I actually thought Ryan Turk might get alittle love from one of the many ALL Region teams. Considering the success his team had during his tenure.

hopefan

Even with All Region Teams, especially if they try to hold to two guards, two forwards and a middleman, there is not much room... perhaps if They had won a conference tourney and gotten that first round NCAA exposure.......  But it never happened.

Of some interest is to speculate how Chris Forest might do next year..... His rebounding stats will get better with Fogerty and Storandt gone - and I think his offense will become more diverse - he's going to have to be more of a to the basket kind of guy adding to his great 3 point shooting - I think there is a possibility he could be considered for an All Region as he diversifies his game  ( if that's what coach has in mind)....

Another award for FU's Brian Fogerty. DIII News All American Honorable Mention. I guess Brian has garnered more awards then any SLIAC player, since the legendary Henry Shannon from Maryville. Shannon was a 1st Team All American by D3Hoops.com.

Will do Hope. I'm sure McKinney would trade his for a seed this year back east. Both coaches have constructed their programs from scratch (or resurected). Both currently sit at 505. Should be a Big Night for these two. It's always good to get recognized by your peers.

5 wins till 800.

Of interest. Three of the four teams in the Women's Final Four, will be using the Fontbonne facility for closed practices. Says alot about what these D1 schools think of our little gym. In the past Coach Calhoun UConn and Coach Izzo MSU have used the DSAC, on the road for practice.

FC I bet one of those teams has a single lady on the staff, let's say over 35 years old, who would love to be shown a night or two on the town by a handsome rich bachelor as yourself  -  GO FOR IT!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Hopefan - Thanks for thinking about me. But won't be in town. Now if Tenn. had made it, I be there in a heart beat. Coach Summit is the one Coach still on my list of those to meet.
