Yes, I heard that they should have won the first game. Branch really shot 23 shots? And what happened to Forrest? Did he not get shots or was he just off? Look at all of these posts, its a great time for basketball fans. Good report FC News ;D

Hey Buncheriffic - Yes the score could of been worse. Haven't really had a chance to look at boxscore. FU played 12 guys. I expect a rotation of probably 9-10 the rest of the year. Moody had their two designated good 3 pt shooters. The facilities (rims and balls) are as tough a shooting enviroment as you'll find. FU is a shooting team and rebounds were long.

FU after the loss of Riva is making adjustments. Nolan Zeollner showed he is capable of playing big defensively. Long wing span and a lot of hustle in that 6'5 (and still growing) frame. Had a tough shooting weekend. Scheetz was a huge bright spot. Played great against a big and athletic HLG. Is a #4 right now that will give match up problems. Showed this weekend that he can score inside. Fleming came in Friday and gave a defensive spark and went 4-7 from the field. Saturday Lisch came off the bench and put a stop to the 3pt bombs Moody was hitting.

Forrest was not on form. Trying to do to much, is what the common thoughts were. Not in shots forced. Just maybe an extra pass to get someone involved, when he had the shot. Putting to much responsibilty on himself for how the offense is running. He will get back to just being the best shooter in the league.

Coach McKinney characterized Rapp's performance saturday as " Super ". Ben knows the game as well as any player on the floor. He will handle his share of the point load. And do a good job defensively.

This team is a team that is still searching, very hard, for a flow. But, it's there.

FU was two bad passes away from being 2-0. And, yes 23 attempts. Josh Branch was selected All Tourney.

Tough night in Charleston for my Red Devils.  I listened to the game online and i must say first half sounded really competitive.  The lead was traded back and forth until a run by Eastern seperated the to 2 teams and it never got any closer.

Zasada led the way with 22 follwed by Bell with 14 and Leppard with 13.  All of Leppards points came in the first half.  I'm excited to see what this kid can do at 6'1 he is extremely athletic and is a lock down defender.   From that game it shows that he can put the ball in the hoop as well which well help take some pressure of Eureka's big 3.

Next games at Monmouth.  Definitely a winnable game for EC if they show up focused and intense

Short turn around time for FU. Will be leaving at some silly hour on Tueday for Cali. First match up will be with Whittier, out of the SCIAC. I expect this team to be an upper SLIAC type of oponent. Not a Webster or Westminster, but close. They did have a graduating class last year similar to the Griff's.

We'll see. ??? ;D

just noticed Blackburn lost to Robert Morris Springfield 85-72 last night.

Webster @ Millikin live stats...

Millikin was picked 6th, out of 8, in the CCIW preseason poll.  This is a game Webster can win.

Webster leads Millikin at half 26-24, in what must be a 'defensive battle'. ::)

Drew Moore and Scott Restoff have 22 of 26 points....

In one of the worst live stats reads ever seen by this or any other reader, Webster wins the battle of missed shots and turnovers, when Millikin misses two free throws with 4 seconds left.....   Webster 46-44...  Seriously, if it stays up, read the last several minutes of the game  .. you can't help but chuckle.... Webster had 2 points in the last 6 and a half minutes, fortunately held Millikin to 8 in the same time span.....

On the other hand, what a GREAT win for Webster and the SLIAC  -  Congrats to Coach Bunch and the players

I'm not sure beating Millikin can be called a great win by any D3 team, hope.

Having followed the live stats for the last nine minutes, there are no doubt lot of adjectives that could be used to modify "win" in this instance, but I'd have to agree that "great" is not one of them. Still, a win is a win, and I'm sure Millikin would rather have the W no matter what the game was like.

I don't care if the SLIAC beats a CCIW member in washers, that's a win.

FU arrived safely to Cali. A bunch of the guys managed to get online tickets to see the Lakers tonite. Morning practice and then off to Venice beach. West Virginia and Butler are down at the Hilton. The group will also have a chance to see some good bball, just down the street.

WU's Drew Moore was on the same JuCo All Conference team with FU's incoming post Sean Gibson. Last years Newcomer of the Year Chris Forrest was also once All Conf. in the same.

Right.  But if the CCIW team is really bad at washers, and has been for a long time, then it's not a "great win."

hopefan

ahhh but if a CCIW team beats a lower level D1 team, no matter that they are a sub 500 team such as , for example, EIU or WIU, CCIW fans would likely term it as a great win..... well the CCIW looking up at low level D1 is akin to a conference like the SLIAC looking up to ANY team in the CCIW  (and quite frankly, there may be a bigger talent difference step SLIAC to CCIW than there is CCIW to low level D1)   -  Once again, you have to understand - the SLIAC probably has a winning % of less than .400, maybe even .333 against ALL other D3 teams in the last xx years.  We are very happy to beat the Rhodes and Knox's and Alma's of the D3 world, much less a CCIW team....

It will help Webster's OOWP. After, Millikin plays the other CCIW oponents. ;D
