LOTG I dont understand why you would throw players under the bus like that.  I'm sure the kids from FU all work hard not just Branch.  Branch is a good player dont get me wrong but it takes a team to win and lose games not just one player.

As for the EC vs GC game. I will be there and will probably post a reply sometime after.  Eureka is pretty good about posting the scores quickly after the games so you'll probably see that before I post anything.

I have to say i disagree with you distant observer.  I think if Eureka can control tempo they will win the game.  If not it will be extremely close but since its at the Reagan Center i give the edge to EC.

Congrats to Bell for his week 1 player of the week and Zasada for player of the week this week.  Both of these guys are off to red hot starts lets hope they can continue to play at this level.  If they do Eureka will be very tough to beat.

Another good shooting nite for Branch 27 pts. Forrest begins to get going scoring 19. Still can't find range from the 3's. Nice game for Fleming with 11 and 7 boards. The next closet rebounder had 3.

In the end it was all Elmhurst.

Well said! I don't understand why all this talk about POY, especially this early in the season. Basketball is surely a team sport, with the game results first and foremost, and individual honors a distant second. Repeatedly, good players help other good players to look even better, for the sake of winning the game. I am not even in favor of giving out individual awards, which are often disputed anyway.

Well at least no one was killed in that train wreck. FU has a couple non - conf, games, but basically 3 weeks to get ready for the conference run. Positives out of Fleming and Hamilton tonite.

Three weeks is a long time to get the incoming comfortable. And, pick up the system. One thing you can bank, Sean won't take a shot outside the paint. An inside presense will make a huge improvement. Both offensively by making it easier to get more looks. Defensively it will put a guy in their who you have to go over or around.

Yes EC_Fan it's along season. And, all I really asked for was 1-1 first semester and the win being over GC helps. FU will make adjustments and be in the hunt for one of the four spots.

And to set the record straight for short turn memory. FU graduated The 2 time POTY and 2 time scoring leader (the leagues 4th in scoring in conf. history) and one of the top two rebounders. The best true big man in the conference rebounding champ, leading shot blocker and top of the list in steals. Along with the conferences best point guard and the best 3 pt shooter.

IF you can replace all that in a year. Congrats to you. Three of the conferences best the past 3 years.

Hope for a great game tomorrow nite.

Greenville loses to Lincoln Christian?   I REALLY don't get it....   What's wrong with these guys? Cocrane and Brooks gone yes, but Ellis, Hilliard, and others showed well last year......   Wonder if Coach Barber is really ok after last year's critical illness......
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Hopefan, FC, Sorry I haven't been able to get on lately, I've yet to get to any games thus far. I'll try to get a little more done on my part. I'm not pullin' my weight around here!!!

Hopefan - I can promise you Coach Barber is feeling fine. I haven't looked at the boxscore yet, but did Barber have a bad shooting nite or not rebounding well?

FU didn't make it back til 5am this morning. Weather and a 2hr wait for a flat just 8 miles from the Miss. River bridge. Can't be good for those with finals today.

hopefan

Division 3 athletes should not be put in the situation of having to travel during finals....   PERIOD.

Well Hope there is about 400 schools you need to send your memo out to.

Wow - what the heck... Lincoln over Greenville, MacMurry over Webster, Spalding 2-0...  ::)

FU's game elmhurst good to see that Hamilton had a good showing - I thought that on Sat .  Fleming would like to see him again.

EC - I am not sure what to expect tomorrow!!  I hope both teams bring it!

Another 3 wks alot can change on these teams.  We may see a new look for some teams!

Oh, please - these are young adults who were sleeping on the bus and can function after 8 hrs of parting and 1.5 hrs of sleep - don't you remember Hopefan  :D

Thank you Distantobserver. He is trying to live in the perfect world. On the women's board he's complaining because FU won't give up their home game against Wash U tonite. Just to make a nice little doubleheader with the Wash U men's game.

But, he does at least keeping attending the SLIAC games, faithfully. And, that gets him a pass every once in awhile. ;D

distantobserver

Maybe its too far back for him to remember  or  he just didn't run that schedule when he was in college... ;D

fcnews

I was on that schedule my first two years. And, it wasn't pretty. But, sure wouldn't of exchanged the experience.

;D  you know the saying - what happened in college stays at college - or was that Vegas!
