Whoever that is, I agree that he (or she) has let us down.

All of this bad reffing talk is usually called being a sore loser.

i have no dog in this fight (no concern over who wins or loses) and will say it: the officiating on the men's side in the SLIAC sucks.

Denny McKinney

It would be better basketball if the Kids called their own fouls. Playground style. ;D

Also think that it was nice to see Denny and allamerican have a good conversation no matter what the subject was. ;)

don't worry. it will not last. i really like dennis and hope he gets his book published so i can read it. it's just more fun when i can make him mad and get a good arguement going. ;) my spouse (i didn't say husband) knows that when i quit picking fights its time to haul me off to the old folks home. saw a great hs game ar Mc North tonight!

random thought on the Blackburn Webster game

Obie Farmer, All American

Chris Williams   All Universe

more at lunchtime... but Webster didn't lose it... Blackburn won it!!!
WITHOUT their two best players, Madison Medley and Julian Lott
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Denny McKinney

Yes, WU did lose it. I saw it in the L collumn. But, I don't mind it. Get off that streak. Now 5 games to get ready.

Jorel Robertson (MC) is hobbled badly by a calf injury. Not very good mobility.

GC Panther 01

Taylor and Martin don't ring a bell.  Frosh year Srs. were Barry Payne, Shane Wells, Russell Witte,
Soph year Srs. were Chad Ambuehl, Jay Smith, ...??
Jr Year Srs Mark Giertz, Drew Marana, Lucas Smith
with underclassmen Justin Bennet, Mario Marshall, Demajo Clemens
Sr year the lone Sr was Chris Vogler  ;)

Denny  -  just to explain.. by my comment Webster didn't lose it, I meant it wasn't neccessarily the Negative quality of Webster's play that lost it, it was the positive aspects of Blackburn's play that resulted in the victory...  It is quite obvious in the loss column for Webster....

Misc thoughts on the Webster - BC game

The result of this game (Webster losing) changes the whole landscape of the standings..

Webster now has 2 losses, Westmin has 3.....   Regardless of the result of Webster's game with Spalding, next Wednesday's Webster at Westminster game is the big game of the year... Webster could come out ahead, tied with or behind Westmin for the league lead... and of course that ends up dictating who will host the conference tourney...

Webster missed Nick Jones in all facets of the game...  without his quickness and length, Webster's zone was ineffective....  BC's perimeter shooters got open looks every possession in the first half, yet Webster stayed in the zone.  And for gosh sake, Obie Farmer (you gotta see him to believe him) got the ball wide open in the middle.. bounce , bounce layup.. EMBARRASSING..  Medley might have had 30 if he played....
Give BC credit.. they stuck the open perimeter shots... chris williams had 21 at half, Brandon Adams, Dakota tucker were also hitting....

Webster's offense on the other hand was stagnent.... Willie Trimble started hot but fell cold, and BC's guards were quick enough that Willie rarely penetrated... With jones out, there was no full court game to speak of... best stuff was whwn the ball went into huskey and he looked for Moore... and little put back activity with Jones out... one of those nights for Restoff, who was invisible, and Meeh, who though he was active on the boards, could not put the ball in the basket... at all.  Cody Bradfisch was almost the savior... became the go to guy and almost pulled it out singlehandedly... hit a bunch of 3's, had a critical steal, made some big free throws... but when all of a sudden everything was going right, it went south for cody.. a missed FT that would have put Webster up 1 with a minute left, a missed baseline layup wide open that would have tied it with 20 seconds.. instead Webster down two, has to foul, BC makes one, Webster can tie, but misses two threes in the last 8 seconds....

Chris williams.. wow.. and this kid doesn't usually start???  Best performance by a guard I've seen ALL year... 3 pointers, jump shots off the moves, floaters through the middle.... absolutely a fantastic game....
HOW can this team, when they have Medley and Lott, not be winning?  Granted, they shot extremely well in the first half... but they played smart enough to get good shots!!!

Webster's depth is a SERIOUS problem  -  Bradfisch comes in after hardly playing in the last 3 weeks and does a great job.. but Hollis Edwards is now hardly playing... so without Jones, it's a 7 man rotation....

Lots of crying about the officials from BOTH sides last night, supporting Denny's and Red's comments of the last several days...  as a neutral fan, I didn't notice much except one critical situation when Robbie Meeh went up with an offensive rebound and appeared to get hammered, but no whistle... LOTS of crying about that one... also some 3 point shot fouls with limited contact that were called......

Nick Jones is expected to play Friday vs Spalding....  even if he is uncomfortable shooting the ball, he will be a tremendous help defensively, and with the running game.
Gotta get some offense from Restoff and Meeh.... and more minutes from Edwards....

and did this game EVER show... don't take anything for granted... anybody really can beat anybody, and for sure, with this game, I'd have never thought......

I was told about this board from a friend of mine who is a long time supporter of the SLIAC. I live in Louisville and enjoy both high school and college sports. I follow Bellarmine and Spalding pretty closely so I figured I could give some perspective to the board since after reading it didnt seem like people were able to get much information from out here.

I have no ties to either of those schools (former player, or relative of current player) just a fan in the stands most nights.

Gregory Sager

Yes! Another country heard from!

I'm one of North Park's broadcasters, metaljacket, so I had the pleasure of doing last season's Spalding @ NPU game. DeWhon McAfee is quite a player. He impressed everyone in the NPU gym that night.

he is a special player, 4 more inches with that talent and he would have gone to Spalding I am sure. moving him out of the PG spot has really helped in IMO, he cannot create some more shots for himself off screens instead of off the dribble.

metaljacket

I didnt grow up in the computer world so my typing is off...

***if he was taller he would have not gone to spalding

***he creates more shots off the screens now that he is not bringing up the ball
