C'mon, Redhead, are you going to ever contribute anything to this room besides constantly goading Dennis? It's really gotten old and tired.
You strike me as someone who has seen a lot of St. Louis basketball and could add a lot of perspective here. Too bad that instead you've chosen to waste your time and ours with these senseless and ridiculously repetitive attacks on Dennis and his father.
I'll see you at recess!! Bet my dad can beat up your dad!!

The point is... you've made your point.  Move on.  Get a different hobby.  How about adding something of substance to this board?

Agreed with the posters above, AARH. I've given you a lot of leeway in the thoughts you might come around but this is now an official notice that the Terms of Service do talk about ax-grinding.

ax grinding or speaking the truth no one else wants to hear? the fc admn. dropped the ball big time this year and that dysfunctional season that the players had to endure was not fair to them, especially the seniors.

do what you got to do. i lived a lot of years without this board and i am sure i can go on doing the same.

Pat Coleman

If you don't have anything to contribute, then the board will do just fine without you as well.

It's not a case of what you're saying being something that nobody else wants to hear. Dennis doesn't want to hear it, of course, but there's nothing wrong with someone raising an issue with the way that the Fontbonne program is run. Goodness knows that Hopefan has disagreed with Lee McKinney's decision-making more than once (and has paid the price for it with Dennis's ire).

But do you know what is wrong? Saying the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again ad nauseam. OK, so you don't like the way that Lee McKinney runs his program. Fine. We get it. Now, as Point Special said, move on and talk about something else. Because you have nothing new to say about Fontbonne, and we're all sick of reading your tiresome vendetta against the McKinneys.

Josh was there next to me and Yjak and I could tell he had a great time....  he didn't stay for second game, I think, in order to get home quicker to plead with his wife to be able to come back tonite ;D ;D ;D.........  which makes a good point,  if people would just COME, they'd realize what fun it is to watch SLIAC hoops... just gotta get them here.....

A good All Conference team, the same one I picked from the SLIAC Only stats a couple of weeks ago, never having seen any team play, although I had Trimble as POY.

McAfee  -  Best player by far on one of the tri-champions. Nuff said.

McClellan - Had a POY season but McAfee's team was better and that tipped the scale for me.

Zimmerman - His team was not good but he was among the leaders in almost every stat and led in many.

Trimble - Erratic, tailed off at the end, but he was the best player playing the most important position on one of the tri-champions.

Vislay - Did not have the season expected of him but was still the best player on one of the tri-champions.

Lott from Blackburn should have been #6 in place of one of the Greenville kids. He played on a bad team but when someone (Zimmerman), playing on a weak team, has such good numbers it's hard to overlook him.

This season the coaches did what I have always done. They rewarded the players on the best teams.

I'm sure this will spark some conversation.

Congratulations to the Webster players and coaching staff on their conference tournament championship. A spectacular second half, holding Westminster scoreless for a 10 minute stretch. A couple of excellent and timely defensive plays by Hollis Edwards while Cody Bradfisch was on the sidelines waiting to sub in for him. No dead ball situation occurred and Hollis made good use of his extra time on the court. Can't say enough about how hard this team played all season. They deserve this.

to further prognosticate on where the SLIAC winner might play.....

count on travelling!!!...   closest school with a chance is Illinois Wesleyan, and they would have to score a couple of major upsets..

Realistic opportunities would include trips to :  (distance from St Louis - it would be diff if Greenville Mac or Westmin win conference tourney)

Augustana   rock Island Ill   228 miles
Manchester Ind   257 mi
Hanover Ind  298
Wabash in Crawfordsville Ind   231 miles

There are 8 other solid possibilities Luther (Ia), Hope (Mi), St Norbert (Wisc), Wisc River Falls, Wisc Stevens Point, Concordia Wisc, Centre (Ky), Wittenburg (Ohio)....  all of them are between 350 and 500 miles away...

Not much has changed since I wrote this..
Augustana is in

Manchester and Hanover play today for HCAC championship... loser will be on the bubble

Wabash lost in NCAC semis to Wittenberg, on the bubble

Luther is in

Hope is in

St Norbert is in

Wisconsin Stevens Point is in

Wisconsin River Falls lost in final to Stevens Point, probably are in

Concordia Wisconsin lost in Nathcom Semis, probably is in

Benedictine in Lisle Ill is in  + 200 miles

DePauw and Centre play today for SCAC championship  winner is in, loser likely out

That's it as I see it.....   had Illinois Wesleyan beat Augie last night, that would have been another chance, but it didn't happen.. I don't think they'll get in....

Once I see who gets the remaining open automatic spots, I'll do a little geography, personal knowledge of the selection system and put out something to chew on this evening.... narrowing it down to 2 or 3 locations...... of course we'll all find out for sure tomorrow......  kind of like waiting for Christmas morning ehh???   I've been through this so many times, being associated or a supporter of teams all the way back to the first D3 tourney in 1975.. IT NEVER GETS STALE.....

I think the four teams who are going to host pods from the West/Midwest regions are the following:

Whitworth ("hosting" the three team pod... which means first round bye and winner of the SCIAC champ/Chapman will travel)
Augustana
St. Thomas
Concordia (WI)

I'm not sure about the Great Lakes... or the South, in terms of who is hosting... but I don't really see any other viable candidates in these regions.

Stevens Point won't/can't host because their women will.

Thanks Point, and I bow to Point's knowledge of who the prime candidates to host are given highest regional ratings..  with the thought that the NCAA will not fly Webster to the coast or Minnesota, that would narrow the list in the Midwest to Augustana and Concordia Wisc (400 miles)...   By not viable, I assume Point rules out Hope because they would likely have Ohio, Western Pa, Indians, No Illinois teams before having Webster travel 470 miles....  several others (Manchester/Hanover, Depauw/Centre) are probably ruled out as they will be in, but not seeded high enough to get a host's role  in fact, they could both end up at Hope.......

But it's interesting....in the upper midwest, there are 4 schools from Wisconsin (UWSP, UWRF, St Norbs, Concordia Wi)....  also Augie, Benedictine, St. Thomas, possibly Carleton (Minn), Northwestern (Minn), Luther (Ia)... Webster would make 10....  if 3 Minn schools and say UWRF is one pod, Luther St Norbs Wi SP, and Concordia wi make 4, Augie is left with Benedictine and need 2....  MAYBE Webster goes to Augie and Augie gets Manchester/ Hanover winner... if Hope hosts, they get the Ohio schools....

fun to play with it..  and there are lots of possibilites.....
