Yjak, any thoughts on Spalding's roster for next year? They have lost twice to Westminster and now once to Webster. Just curious on what they could have coming back for next year when they enter the conference.

Spalding's best player, #24 DeWhon McAfee is a 6' 1" freshman guard. I think any school in the conference would love to have him on their team. He scored 22 and I think could have scored more but for the fact that he was trying to keep his teammates involved. He penetrates well and makes some great quick spin moves to get an open shot. He was 10-18 and a couple of free throws. He did not take any 3-pointers. The other two players who scored in double figures last night are both seniors. Looking at the season stats on the Spalding website, one of those three guys has been their high scorer in each of their 15 games this year, and McAfee has been the high scorer in 10 of those game and tied for high in another. So this raises the question about who they have that will step up next year. Unless they get in some good new players it could be a lean year for them next year, even in the SLIAC.

Westminster up on Greenville 35-27 at half.  Jake Vislay leads WC with around 10 pts including alley-oop dunk from Ty Cochran.  Cochran started hot for GC but WC's defense slowed him down.  Not much from Laphonso thus far.  WC could have played better in first half.

Just read post, looks confusing.  Ty Cochran for WC threw alley oop.  Ben Cochran for GC started hot in game.

Juniormint, where are you finding this?  Are you at the game?

WC up 8, 4 mins to play.  Vislay is showing his athleticism with 3 dunks on the afternoon, most likely leading WC in scoring.

GC is getting baskets to keep it close and rebounding well.

Only news so far from WC:

WC wins by three, Ellis has a good look at a 3 at buzzer to tie, misses.

I know there has been some chatter in regards to SID's and all on the board in the past few days...  But I want to send a shout out to those SID's in our conference who do a great job of posting stats and game stories following the games.  There are only a hand full of them... and not even that. (EC_SID, you fall in the category of doing a great job.)

It's super helpful for those who are looking for scores and such.  Thanks again for those of you who do a great job at your job.

Folks - Stats were up pretty quick on SLIAC website. You just have to go to stats and then team of interest.

Congrats on bounce back for Purple and Gold. Heard it was a great team effort. Shame Storandt didn't get credit for 3 blks., he's chasing down school record.

Look forword to any comments from posters in attendance. Heard Rogers and Steinke are at odds. Shame, kids meant alot to MU. But, who knows the inside story.

I guess Hope or Yjak didn't want to pay the gate.

Even in all the past years when there was no charge at Maryville I seldom, if ever, have driven out there for a game unless it was Webster playing. I love hoops, but it was also nice to have a Saturday afternoon to do something else.
