Greenville / Lincoln Christian:  From what I understand, Lincoln Christian didn't have any stats, video, or anything following the game.  Not sure what the situation is but I think that when we schedule games (not just Greenville, everyone...), we need to hold the host institutions responsible for these things.  Most of the issues come when we are playing an opponent outside NCAA/NAIA.  But, there has to be accountability from these schools... and being a former member of the NCAA (for a year...), they should know game protocol.

As for the score being posted... as I have said before that's nothing new from Greenville.  It's now been 15 hrs since the game and nothing posted on the Greenville website.  Few reasons why (I am guessing) but just lack luster efforts to celebrate and publicize the student-athlete...  (fc, yjak, hope...  that's my admin side coming out!)

Greenville / Lincoln Christian JV? : No, the game wasn't a JV game.  Panthers had a few players sick and didnt see much playing time.  Its one of those games that got away from Greenville.  Nothing to be super concerned about.  SLIAC games is all that matters.

Greenville v. SIUE : Yes FC, I've need where both the SIUE folks as well as the Greenville station is covering the game.  It'll be exciting listening to my boys on the radio! :)  Second time this season.  YES!

Could Greenville of changed this game to a JV game?

fc, I believe you were referring to last night's game against Lincoln Christian in the quote above, taken from your most recent post, right?

I doubt that last night's game was anything but a regular varsity game with the regular players on the floor. The players want to win and if a coach intentionally compromises their chances of victory that would not be right.

Go to this link for the game results of all SLIAC teams' games from last season: http://www.sliac.org/mens3/mbasketball/2007-08/default.htm
Then go to the "Edit" menu and click "Find (on this page)" and type in Lincoln Christian (or just "Linc") and you will see that LC had home wins against Prin, BC, and EC. And almost all their home games were closer than their away games against SLIAC teams. I think we may be underestimating LC. If not, that doens't mean they can't put it all together once in a season to register an upset.

pantherpride got his post in there ahead of me. The illness of some of the GC players could have been a factor in the outcome. Still, I expect LC, like most teams, is tougher to beat at home.

Zoelner looked good - more comfortable in this situation playing with a lead than the games I've seen him in that were tight.   One nice looking 15 foot j in particular  -  he could be the next Chris Forrest.......

Hopefan - Thanks for your opinion. 3-5 and 1-1 from 3's in his 12 mins. is much more like the kid I saw awarded the MVP of last years All-Star game. But, the next Chris Forrest? I'd take that. Chris has two more years at FU and will help the rebuilding process FU will go through next year.

"Mac at Fontbonne - Mac, show me  -  they need to beat a good team..."

Not sure what that quote says about Webster, who lost at home to Mac by 14 earlier in the season. Same Webster team that turned around and defeated everyone's #1 pick, Fontbonne. Ouch.

Most of these kinds of statements really don't mean anything. They play the games for a reason -- to make all of us who think we know what we're talking about look bad.

fcnews

PC up by 1 with 5 minutes to go in 1st half against WC. Now that would be a big "WOW".

WC up by 12 with 2 minutes to go. When my contact left the building.

Razor - a good point regarding Webster - but the Webster that played Mac in early December was a team still searching for any kind of identity - one only need look at the minutes distribution in those early games to see Coach Bunch was still trying to figure out his lineups.  Now that the player juggling has settled down, My feeling is that Webster is a much better team than they were back then... as I said, they seem to have 'reentered' the conference race, and I expect them to have a great game with Maryville tonight - with a win, the conference race gets even tighter.

Funny though Razor ....  a similar note of optimism was sounded for Mac prior to the Westminster game - that one didn't go too well....

I'd also point out that Mac's four wins have come against Robert Morris springfield (2-11),  Webster (5-7), Blackburn (2-10), and Principia (1-10).  Eight of Mac's nine losses have been by double digits.   Players' names have been falling off the lineup with alarming regularity- FC noted they substantially used only 6 players vs BC

I think my statement regarding show me is realistic....

hopefan - you said Mac needed to beat a "good team." The Webster team that Mac defeated on December 6 - at Webster and by 14 points - had earlier defeated a solid University of the Ozarks team, and after losing to Mac, turned around the next night and beat a good Rust College team. Plus, Webster lost by only three at Westminster, who we now know is one of the top teams in the SLIAC. If this team was searching for its identity during this stretch, they were doing a pretty good job of finding it.

This has nothing at all to do with Mac's loss at home to Westminster, similar notes of optimism, the records of the teams that Mac has defeated, or the loss of some key players from Mac's roster. Completely different issues, in my opinion, that have absolutely nothing to do with your assertion that Webster wasn't a good team on December 6 - but they are now.

My view is Mac's conference win on the road at Webster on December 6 - based on Webster's record at that time against quality competition constitutes a MacMurray victory over a "good team." You disagree. We'll leave it at that.

Glad you're feeling better hopefan. Hopefully this was your only trip to the DL. Need your unbiased analysis of games and players.

Glad to see fcnews back in full swing. Near-midnight post on the Westminster-Principia final. I'm impressed!

Yes, the Ozarks team is very solid.

Their road losses this season are by 1 in OT, by 3, by 4, by 14, by 4 and by 3.

They are fighting for the 4th playoff slot in a very strong ASC-East.

Razor - I'm always more than happy to end a discussion with an 'agree to disagree' -  thanks for finishing up with that...
yep feeling better, but these drugs just knock me out!!!!
