On the Mac call. That is the correct call. Having said that, you can watch a 100 games where that takes place and you won't see it called again.

Two years ago, when EC beat FU on a last second shot, The inbounder thru the ball the lenght of the floor to Tarpley who hit a fade away to win. The ref on the inbound end of the floor was at the 4 count when the EC player released the ball. The fifth count was easily while the ball was in the air.

This call is never called and I'm schocked to hear it was called yesterday. But, this is the SLIAC.

Yes, I see now that it is clearly redundant. No need for both #2 and #3. :-[

Of course I trust your knowledge of the rules, hopefan. ;) But it's always nice to have confirmation from another source.  ;D Thanks, fc.  :)

And on that last second play in the EC-FU game two years ago, I was there and I think it was AJ Richard who made the winning shot.

Your correct Yjak. It was Tarpley who inbounded the ball. Great Arm. :)

I see that Ryan Turk's name now appears on the Milesontes link on d3hoops as having reached the 1,000 point plateau for his career. Thanks to whoever made that happen.

Guess I made the wrong choice yesterday. Hadn't seen Greenville of Prin yet, so made the trip across the river. Very uneventful. Sounds like all the excitement was at FU.

Looking into my crystal ball, I no longer see FU as the lock for the regular season or the AQ. I now see Maryville with a late season charge finishing at 12-4, with a log jam of a four way tie at second with FU, Webster, Greenville and Westminister.  Who stays home from the tournament? This could be a very fun month!

Even rockputter Justin Storandt hit his first 4.

Hopefan - Brief explanation of the term "rockputter" please. Not familar with this term. Thanks

Hotshot - 12-4 would be quite a run for the Saints. Thats 6-1 over the last 7 games. With the following games left. Westminster @ home, @ FU, GC @ home, @ EC and WU @ home. Heck of a run. If they go 6-1 they will justly deserve a high seed in the tourney.

Rockputter  -  a hopefan takeoff on the term shotputter, with the implication of a somewhat 'non soft' shot - ie his fourth hoop from  10 feet that hit the rim hard enough to crack it, deadening the ball so it still bounced in.  Meant for humorous purposes only, as you know I love Storandt's game for his physicality and enthusiasm...
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

I was surprised too by the prediction of Maryville being the survivor to finish first....  I will say that Maryville gets Webster, Greenville and Westmin at home, which in some years would be a big advantage - but this year, the SLIAC is so topsy turvy that there sems to be NO home court advantage.  In fact, I'd hate to be the Saints if they need a final night win to clinch a spot, because they will be at the worst place in the conference to go to - Blackburn.

My main downside thought on Maryville is the continued reliance on the 3 point shot....  yes it's great when the shooters are hitting, but there are nights when they aren't, and that can lose a game even easier than winning one....  Still, Matt Rogers gets the guys playing hard......

No problem Hopefan. I just had never heard that term. I knew didn't regard his accuracy, since he's now shooting like 68% from the field in conference play. Just wish the kid looked for his own shot more often.

Rockputter - Is what I would call some of the tourist at Murder Rock that hold up play with their horrible performances on the green.  ;D

hopefan

Incidently  Storandts dunk on the offensive rebound putback was far and away the most awesome of the year.......

Not quite as good as the one he had against MH-B last year in the tourney. Over a 6'10 opponent.

I dont know if you were at blakkburn when sykes dunked over a prin player from about 10 ft. out. That is definatly in contention for #1.
