Also meant to mention I really like Eureka's freshman point-guard, Jordan Kindred.  I remember his name from last year - I believe he was on most of the small school all-state teams.  Didn't know he ended up at Eureka.

I'm not sure how well he shoots it (he didn't shoot much today), but just a really solid ball-handler.  He will be very good as he gets older.

Titan Q - Tuesday nite 8 pm @ FU.

I would, but going to watch a kid IWU is recruiting in the St. Louis area that night.  Should be a great matchup.

Wow. Something looks funny about MU v. Mac boxscore. Simmons 6 minutes?

FC   Eureka would not necessarily have the tiebreaker over Maryville if Maryville loses at Blackburn.....   Maryville and Eureka have split..... If Westmin wins vs Font and takes first, Maryville split with them, Eureka lost twice  -  Maryville would be in.  If Font beats Westmin, Eureka split with Font, Maryville lost twice, Eureka would be in....

Well the match up Tuesday nite will give us the following possibilies:

FU wins:

Friday

Webster vs. Westminister @ 6pm
EC / MU vs. Fontbonne @ 8pm

At the DSAC on the Fontbonne campus and a very good chance to see a big crowd. Maryville in - Would probably result in as big a crowd as you could expect. EC in - Would give us a balance of a West and East school. Friday nite would still be interesting cause I've seen the way EC's Fans travel.

Westminster Win:

Fontbonne vs. Webster @ 6pm
Maryville vs. Westminster @ 8pm

And we all head west. Could be a very tough seat for friday nite. Outcomes would effect Saturday. After seeing the crowd when FU played @ WC earlier this year. The Semi's should fill the house.

Great conversation with Coach Barber that would have fit in wonderfully with a writeup about a Greenville victory over Webster, but.... thud... went Greenville ... and Eureka....Both are to be congratulated for being in contention this long, but both got beaten - Eureka likely by better Westmin personnel, Greenville more by a style of play that they weren't up to competing with.  Let Greenville run and shoot and crash the boards and they will be competitive- (ie Fontbonne style) - play tough ball possession offense, banging defense like Webster does, And Greenville (as Fontbonne) doesn't have an answer......

Different styles are what should make the conference tournament so interesting....

For those who enjoy this sort of thing ... Here are all the possible scenarios (winners in CAPS), and the resulting seeds (in bold, as found by my program).  Note this includes all possible upsets by the three bottom teams, however unlikely those might be. MacMurray and Blackburn have shown recently that they are not going to roll over and play dead, but Principia has lost by double digits to everyone in the conference, so Webster seems the safest in that regard.

Feel free to check this and correct me if you find any mistakes; there is always the possibility of undiscovered bugs in my program, or that the tiebreaker rules I used do not apply correctly to the SLIAC.

I wonder what day Bunchtime will be heading back for the Tourney.

Jason Simmons (MU) has been avg. about 25 mins. Saturday 6 minutes, 6 points, 5 rebounds and 0 fouls. In a 1 pt game. No technicals. .............. Huh!

Tueday's game will be the Forrest / Crawford match up we missed earlier in the year.

Again. It comes down to the last game in February. Looks like it will be the same four as last year.

Does Eureka need Fontbonne to win and Maryville to lose no matter what to get in?

Westminster played a good game Saturday at home against a team that had been playing well as of late and was playing to control their own destiny.

Warncke had 24 points and 7 rebs in 30 mins.  Vislay continues to impress off the bench with 18 points in 18 minutes.  Mitchell should have played him for 40.   :)

The rest of WC's attack was balanced 5 guys hovering just under the 10 point mark.  WC out rebounded EC 44-25.

Wildenradt and Bell had 19 and 17 respectively for EC.  Zasada had 9 rebs but held to 7 pts.

Looking forward to tomorrow's game there are a couple things I think WC needs to key on.

Fogerty is most likely going to get his average in points, hit some tough shots, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.  What WC can do is keep him off the line.  He shot 9 FT's in the first meeting making 6.

Branch and McCoy will likely hit a few threes but WC has to make them contested shots.  If they can contest all their shots it will be harder to let them get in a rhythm.  In the second half of the first matchup FU got too many uncontested looks at the basket, and a good team will hurt you for that.  WC needs to put pressure on the ball to try to force FU into hurried shots.

Finally WC needs to play bigger inside.  They need to try to get to the FT line more and rebound better.

They do those things I expect a W, but those things are not easy to accomplish against a team like FU.  Wish I could make it to the game!  Good luck to all the teams as they round out the regular season.

I don't think so ... note the three highlighted scenarios below.  But observe that they also require Principia to win.

Two possible Blackburn upsets tomorrow would be an amazing night!

Official word from MU-Mac  -   Simmons injured - questionable for BC and playoffs - medical review ongoing......

personal thought - they can't win without him - you think you saw 3 point attempts before - wait til they play without him ......  though note, Dulle and another big frosh, Menard were 10-12, 4-5, 11 rebounds between them vs Mac....
