Hopefan - please don't take my comments concerning the coaches as ripping on them.  Maybe I should rephrase the comments.  I do respect everyone involved in SLIAC from the coaches to the fans and all that support them!

And why should the newbees be nice to FC?  Does he get mean?  ;D

fcnews

No. He's afraid someone may upset me. He's just watching out for me. My banned days are long gone.

Love of the game - Melloway and Reese saw important game minutes last year. Buford saw some late season minutes. It is a tough time of year to say who will be getting minutes.

me thinks the wiley veterans of the room are either playing it very coy not giving out all they know, or letting the newbies dig themselves into a hole by not commenting  ;D ;D

I agree with this. Not a word from fc on the previously highly touted Daniel Lisch, for example.

fcnews

The poster was not discussing newcomers. 8) I was just trying to stay within the discussion of those returning. Lisch still has to earn his minutes, like all freshmen and transfers. The players will start practicing in two weeks. Pictures will get a lot brighter for many teams.

It doesn't sound like the coaches know who will be trying out. ???

fc, I totally understand what you were doing and why you were doing it. That's why I'm sure you are the first one hopfan had in mind in his refernce to "wiley veterans". :D

So what is word on the new team in SLIAC? Spalding?  Whats the travel time?

Just a note - was on the FU website and looks like the cross country teams are doing well setting some records?

I want to know how good Daniel L. is looking. I forgot all about him coming to Fontbonne. Should help a lot with his experience in Div. 1. He will be good starting with Josh B. and Chris F., might be the best set of gaurds in the conf. Does anyone know if BC has anyone that will make a diff. They could be a team to upset some teams, maybe not win a lot of games.

Eureka is the only team in the Midwest Region that does not yet have their schedule posted on their site (Believe me - I know for a fact) - I emailed and was told that their schedule is not yet finalized???
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Looks like a pretty good team for SLIAC. Lets see how they do

hopefan

I looked up a number of the incoming frosh for webster

Bradfisch had good numbers at Jerseyville, averaging 15.4  ppg, 47% from 2's, 38% from 3s

Kapic hardly played at Mehville

dont know if Maichael played - he's defined as homeschooled

Martinez averaged 11 at Herculeneum  -  unimpressive shooting stats

Rama averaged 7 ppg at Mehville

I hope the out of staters are decent, or this would appear to be a class that will offer little help at least as Freshmen.

Key for Webster - Can Kevin Miller recover from being out all last year and man the middle, splitting time with Ortwerth.   And will Ogunsalu mature into a college player - he came to Webster with gaudy hs stats but contributed little or nothing last year.  Nucleus of Restoff, Jones, Whitcomb should be tough....

WOW :o No one is really talking about anything! It is getting close to the season and everyone is speechless so far. Well I was going to wait but I guess I am going to bring this information out now. I heard from a GOOD source that Fontbonnes Coach Lee Mckiney will coach his last year. This will be his last year coach and working for Fontbonne. It was a great and long run and hopefully he can go out in a bang.

Luv of the Game - I wouldn't consider your source GOOD. Who ever it might be is dead wrong. Making an annoucement that big, you should consult more then just one source. A man who has been coaching as long as Coach, deserves to at least know about his decisions. ??? Sorry SLIAC, you'll have to battle the "Iron Horse" for at least a few more years. And, this comes from as reliable source as they get. Truth!!!

Sounds like Mizzou's club team might be a good place for some local D3 schools to go recruiting.
