Maybe FC is posing as loveforthegame and trying to start a leave the board revolution?

Will you guys show back up when FU makes the conference tourney?

Just razzin, I know there is a deeper story behind all this but with that said I'm only worried about who does post and looking forward to what promises to be an exciting race to the Sliac tourney.

Didn't they expand the NCAA tourney field this year?  Any chance the sliac tourny champ wins it's first NCAA tourney game?

Yes, by one team.

There is ALWAYS a chance.  Otherwise there would be no point in playing the games.  Is it a good chance?  Check the region you live in! :P

[Though the CCIW seems quite down this year - if not now, when? ::)]

Good point.  what I meant was normally the SLIAC is thought of as a bye game when they get into the tourney, was wondering if the addition of team(s) into the tourney would give the SLIAC a better first round matchup.

since they only added one team though it may not be as promising....although any given night......

I don't know if fcnews actually created this room or was simply the first one to post in it when Pat changed software and the new format came into place.

Basically -- he had the oldest post on the board when we switched formats back in 2005 and merged the boards from D3hoops.com and D3football.com.

LIVE from Vegas  !!!!   It's SLIAC room notes!!!

Guys, let me tell you.. this place is VERY disappointing  -  it is not for the you and me  -   EVERYTHING is ridiculously expensive  RIDICULOUSLY

Wife and I went to a Chinese restaurant at the Bellagio to do our one big night out - a wonderful view of the fountains...  I had beef and broccoli (with a fancy name), she had lemon Chicken (again with a fancy name), I had a cocktail, she a glass of wine   no appetizer, no desert (though I credit the restaurant - they gave me a wonderfull little birthday cake concoction)   Anyway $115 please, thank you   -  and this was one of the less expensive places that was with atmosphere....  First night we went to eat at the rainforest... jungle atmosphere, robotic animals etc fun...  a burger for each of us, chips, I had a cocktail, she had water,  $46 please.....   wanna see the white tigers at the mirage?  no longer free, $17.50 per head...   a show? shoot... no less than $80 a head, some, $150-$175 a head.    The crowds are way down, over half the tables not in use, and when the action used to step up in the wee hours, heck, it's dead.   Our timing is a problem (January), but I didn't expect this... and all the sleaze is still on the streets....

Enjoyd the posts in my absence - FC, well, don't know what it will take to bring him back - especially with Fontbonne down - I'm going to keep away from requesting him back, it only would aggravate the situation.

In the blue.. the addition of 50 teams wouldn't change the SLIAC situation in the tourney  -  until our champ gets better (as with the recent Fontbonne teams), that first rounder is always going to be low level SLIAC vs top regional seed, and an expected slaughter.  The SLIAC has to work their way to the MID Level... competitive with the SCAC, HCAC, MWC, NathC in order to get 456 seed rather than 8 seed... When we can play one of those type schools in the tourney rather than the Wash U/CCIW level we may be more competitive....  it surely won't be this year.....  even if Westmin were to run the tables, likely a bottom seed...

Will be calling tonite from the table to get Fontbonne Webster news!!!!

So you wont be going back to Vegas?

Id think Mid march would be a good time to go...ncaa tourney games to watch if youre struggling at the tables....

so is there nowhere cheap to have fun there?

go to Lotus of Siam if you like Thai food...

Have fun Hope

Good win for Westminster last night.  I wonder if any of them will make the trek to see the battle of the big bend tonight.

Im sure theyre busy getting ready for three very big games in a row as well....

Into_the_Blue

Who am I kidding?  Every game is a big game in the SLIAC.  But two games against the two teams threatening for the top spot in the standings and one against FU who always seems to be better after the break.

These games will either serve as the "log jam" everyone talks about almost every year or put WC out front with a solid cushion as the team to catch.  I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens tonight as well before we start looking at Saturdays implications.

buncheriffic

Webster crushed Fontbonne tonight. 72-48.
Coach Bunch stays classy as always and doesn't run it up on the poor kids.

One of the best games I've ever seen any Webster team play. Taking good care of the ball, crisp passing, finding the guy with the open shot, not forcing the ball down low too much, not a lot of turnovers. I'd need to see a box score but I'm guessing the shooting percentage was pretty good as well, and I suspect a healthy plus margin in rebounds. Nice going players and coaches.

Still no news on Blackburn and Mac?

I figured Webster might win but by that much?  Whats going on with Fontbonne?

Does PantherPride post here anymore?

Into_the_Blue:

I drop in occasionally and leave notes.  I am two schools removed from Greenville now.  I still try to keep up with the ball club, but have done a poor job of it this year as my role at Mesa State (NCAA II) has kept me quite a bit busier than my previous job at Puget Sound.

Great to see all the updates though on the SLIAC.  Lots of eye opening teams with Fontbonne below .500 and MacMurray right there on the doorstep.  Great job for Spalding to come in the league in year one and showing they are a contender.

I'm pulling for my Panthers hard, just seems like we are always falling just a few points short.  Still bleeding black and orange!  Keep fighting Coach Barber and the Panthers!!!!

Glad things are going well for you Panther.

It does seem like a crazy year in the SLIAC.  Dont be a stranger

BUT...  if Webster plays aggressively like they did vs Eureka, and Fontbonne doesn't look at themselves and say hey it's time to step up and quit playing soft, this could be a 70-50 game.   This game will be won around the basket, not from 25 feet, and it's going to be rough....

uhhh not bad, eh?

WC over Prin
Spalding over GC
Gorloks over FU
Mac over Black in a barnburner

EC will prob beat LC but not a conf game

Westminster (Mo.)  85  Principia  67  Final
Greenville  67  Spalding  77  Final
Fontbonne  48  Webster  72  Final
Blackburn  65  MacMurray  85  Final
Eureka  86  Lincoln Christian  84  Final

Dont know if 85-65 qualifies as a barn burner but also not bad, right?....   :D

Into_the_Blue

Eureka at Westminster ...game of the week.  Westminster can keep a 1 game lead on Webster or fall into a three way tie with WU and EC.

Also Mac @ Greenville is a big game for Mac to stay near the top of the pack.  A loss would result in a jumble below the top 3...
