Two games tonight... Eureka @ Knox; Greenville @ St. Louis Pharma

GCBball tells us that Andy Traeger and Rashod Seaton return for Greenville... both were listed as seniors last year... their return certainly improves Greenville's outlook from my original writeup... wonder how long Hilliard might be out....

Eureka should get a good test at Knox...  might try to find it on the internet...

Sager you are completely correct. I was explained it by Dad today. it's not a clock it is an accumulation of 10 semesters. I would give a plus K, if I could. Will you be making the trip down to the STL for the game against fontbonne?

Gregory Sager

Wish I could, Denny. Alas, I have to keep score for the NPU women's team that day as they host Aurora here in Chicago.

Eureka getting hammered at Knox....Down 20 with 7 minutes left.....  The few minutes that came through on the net out here in the sticks, I never heard Eureka's Andy Leppard's name...??  Wonder if he's out with injury?   With no one else writing much, these first games are surprise after surprise with who is playing, and who is mysteriously out.....

Oh and for you lady fans, the Gorlassies were routing Logan Chiro at half(yes, there is a lady's team at Logan)  thanks to our Webster correspondent YJak....

I had the day off and went down to watch Fontbonne practice....Despite a number of guys who have left the program, the Griffs seem to have tremendous depth, but also lots of inexperience...  the question in my mind is can they get enough consistent scoring from 3 or 4 people to stay in games... who will emerge as go to guys.... the leader on the floor seems to be Jarrod McCoy, but he has not been a scorer in the past..... New faces may man 2 or 3 starting spots.....  It was great to see Coach Mckinney....

The Greenville at STL Pharma game was rescheduled for tonight - don't know if something went wrong at the gym or what, because the ladies game was played last night as scheduled, with Greenville winning easily.....  the Stl Pharma website notes the reschedule...

Other game tonite is Fontbonne at Central Mo...  this one likely won't be close, but may serve to show how some of the new faces (and the old ones too) will do against superior talent....

Central Mo's Home Opener Tonite. Get the check.... Get out without injuries....... See what we have to work with this year.......

Well, I learned one critical thing about Fonbonne yesterday -   how they get all those recruits...
Per Denny the male to female ratio of the student body is... 1:11 !!!!   If you are a guy, how can you go wrong!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Fontbonne game ends down to Central Mo, 79-52.....bright spot is debut performance  of frosh Tyler Garner who finishes 3 for 3 from 3's, 14 points, 4 rebounds....  Fontbonne has 26 tunovers, with anybody that made the box score contributing at least 1 turnover....   I'd imagine pressure D from good athletes at D2 level contributed, but that stat has to get much better -  Griffs also outrebounded 40-27, Central gets 20 offensive rebounds!!...

Things will get better.....

Greenville game at Pharma, scheduled for Tuesday, resched for Wednesday, now reads CANCELLED

No one injured..... Got the check........ FU played 10 players double didgit minutes. Total of 12 saw time. FU played with CMU the first 20 mins. First ten mins. of 2nd half was all CMU and then pretty much even the last 10.

Hopefan mentioned Tyler Garner. Jared McCoy also played extremeley well. CMU was not bigger then FU, just stronger and more talented. Full court pressure and nerves resulted in FU's massive turnovers. Turnovers were a team effort and will need to be cut in half.

Dad played a lot of combinations. Look for FU to play 10-12 most of the season. All in all their were positives. FU played some good defense, but need to hit the boards.
