So after 36 hours in comes down to this. AAredhead has a problem with the FU coach's team building skills and use of personel (ie. Transfers, 2nd semester players..). Simple difference in philosophies. No problem.

What a blue sky we have today. Thank God for Basketball. It is a fruit off the tree of Life.

In DI and DII, a permission-to-contact letter from the first school is required before a new school can talk to a potential transfer (or her parents) which is why "a friend of the family" is often involved prior to obtaining a release. In DIII, a player can self-release.

Here is the best link I have found:  http://www.ncaa.org/library/general/transfer_guide/

This is true and has been true for several years now. Fontbonne, or any other Division III school, does not have to grant a player anything. They get it themselves.

I have went back and re read my post on Jett. I don't see savior mentioned anywhere. FU has tried everyone at the pointed. Buford, McCoy, Dioum....... The turnovers have been brutal and no scoring. Granted against tough competition.

So you suggest we try who at the point? That gives us a chance to finish in top four. Remember last year was pretty much all returning squad. We know how that went.

Revolving door? Let's see. King, Fischer, Thomas, Tillett, Grasle, Horton..... Pretty good run during the days of no SLIAC Tournament. McCoy, Fogerty, Storandt, Fournie, Branch, Forrest, Dressler...... Three straight trips? I'll agree a few rough years between.

Sir, you went from a casual fan of small college Stl basketball. To a two day rip on me. You have devoted alot of time and energy. This exceeds a difference in coaching philosophies. My only conclusion that I can draw is this is personal. If you have an ax to grind with me. So be it. I have been known as a "Homer" on here for years.
Denny says!

No assists in that game. Lol

Hopefan - The way you asked the question was asinine. Not the question. Either way you'll have to wait for an answer. I know its been a long time. But, now days student - athletes have a Right of Privacy. A parent can not see their childs grades unless he/she signs a release. Same way that a families financial situation is protected, hours taken, GPA, ACT score.........

With that being said, why would I come on a public forum and break this rule. Just because Hopefan asked? LMAO. I tried to give you as much info as I could without details. If you can't respect that, TO BAD. So now are you happy with what got offered up? Who cares.

True colors are being shown. Do I need to go back 100 pages and pull up someones Rant over why FU went to Hawaii. Instead of playing a couple of good D3 schools here at home. It will be a tough road game for WC @ Mac. I remember the blast FU took because of timing scheduling Grinnell, during conference season. Although someone mentioned earlier this year how much they enjoyed getting a chance to see them play. Nice soft toss on this one. Carelton loses by 6, but this was a 37 point tune up for the SLIAC's preseason pick?

Keep those Karma point friendly posts coming. You'll have enough for that rubber snake soon.

Lets talk about asinine posts, because this really takes the cake.
Denny-  Of course Hopefan wanted to see Grinell play.  Who wouldn't want to see that style of basketball?  I sure wanted to watch them.  That doesn't change the fact that it was a horribly scheduled game that FU lost by 50 in the midst of a tight Sliac conference race.  Do you consider that good scheduling Denny?  -Asinine

Hopefan obviously thought the Westminster trip to Hawaii was not the smartest decision.  He has brought it up twice now.  He probably didn't rip on WC because there weren't crowing about the great team building when three regulars were mysteriously absent.

I'm curious too.  Where were those regulars?
And I'm also curious as to what "privacy laws" are being broken by you telling the board who is returning.  Where can I find these rules?  I understand the administrative privacy but come on, you can't tell us who is playing on Tuesday?  -Asinine

And to threaten Karma points, not only asinine must just plain childish.  Grow up.

As far as a point guard goes, didn't Lisch play point...would he have double digit turn-overs in 25 minutes like Flemming did?  Get Flemming back to the 2-3 spot where he belongs.

Denny McKinney

Forgot.

I asked the JV coach about games. Kaskaskia @ home was the other game. The same person also refreshed my mind on the Hawaii trip. FU did indeed play Chaminade University. That year Chaminade had a contract with FU, but over scheduled. The remedy was that they had one exhibition contest remaining. That's why FU only played 24 regular season games. The amount that had to be raised that year for the trip was $1200 per player.

Your knowledge of what "Higher ups" felt about this way exceeds mine. Coach Quigley does the womens scheduling. I don't know the reason behind there scrimmage that year.

That should just about wrap up the Q and A's.

HS pg - Who threatened Karma points? I do not even have that power at my disposal. Fleming did not play point. Dioum and Hamilton took care of that for most of the game. Lisch did not play point in HS and has not played alot at FU. And, has not had a lot of luck at it last year or this.

Not as bad of scheduling as this year. :) How did FU end up that year?

As for the three regulars who did not make the trip. You can ask them yourself Tueday nite. I've already stated my position on the matter. No comment. Asinine was what thought of how he phrased the 10 questions. He called it humurous. I'll take the man's word on it.

Denny McKinney

Hopefan - Other than Lessen on EC, help me put a face to the remaining group.

I'm sorry, I interpreted this line as a blackmail to hopefan that if he wrote anything that you disagreed with, his karma would suffer.

As far as the EC FU game this Tuesday, unless Coach McKinney makes some drastic changes, I really don't want to see the two worst teams in the Sliac play.
Anyone know where Stl Pharm is playing? Probably a better game.

Denny McKinney

Your right. St. Louis Pharm has a website.... Or the FU JV vs. Concordia on Thursday nite.

To clarify. The first thing that came to mind when I saw my friend "Hopefan's" post was Asinine. It was a personal thought. Considering he does not mind calling me personally when he wants to attend a practice, get a score update, discuss his latest hobby trip.......... But My Friend picked this time and picked this item to air in his glamarmous post. Intead of just calling an inquiring about the box score.

My responses wouldn't of changed. But thought it would be what a friend would do,
My Bad for choice of words.

Denny and I are getting along!!! ??? ???

Well at least you guys got through Christmas this season.  Maybe next year you can make it until mid-January or so, and then, who knows, maybe 2-3 years from now you'll get through the SLIAC tournament!

Everyone loves progress.

hs_pg_qb

Denny-

I guess I don't understand.  This is a board about D3hoops and the Sliac.  Why does he have to call you personally to get that information which we would all love to know?

And a bit hypocritical of you to chastise him asking about FU on the board, when just not three posts ago, you asked him about EC.  I mean, you had a question about a sliac team.  By your own logic, you should have never posted and just called him.  Explain that one to me.

Denny-  I do enjoy what you contribute to this board.  It wouldn't be the same without you.  But it just seems that you talk out of both sides of your mouth.  Just my opinion.

Denny McKinney

I'm glad I have entertained a few. Apples and Oranges. I asked him about this years EC squad, regarding a game in less then 48 hours. He gives pretty good comparisons. Are we not discussing this weeks game now?

He asked a question that he knew I wouldn't answer. And, used the personal lives of 3 youngmen as Humor.

hopefan

Wow, go to Chucky Cheese with the grandkids, watch the Rams (ugh) with kids and inlaws, and return to read D3hoops to find myself slandered up and down the page, all for asking where 3 missing regular Fontbonne players are?   Wouldnt it have been a tad saner just to have used one of the obvious reasons I gave and say yeah, there was a problem...

I signed on with the idea of forgetting about the disappointing football game and posting my thoughts on Tuesday's games, but this crap once again makes me want to puke...
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Try Tums.  ;D

You could of chose to except my first response, that I would not comment on that. I don't think I'm required to. I don't know of reading to many press releases pretaining to mid - year player status.

Who discussed not posting. That's Lee with a capital L.

Denny McKinney

And He still has better hair even after a tanker full of Chemo. And now it's back to the real world. Next treatment all day Tuesday. And a big nite for Pops. I'm sure you will have the oppurtunity to see a lot of FC Alumni.

And to think he was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in the 91-92 season. All these years at Fontbonne have just been a bonus.

Know matter what peoples opinions maybe, I wouldn't change places with a single one of you. I got the chance to call my Idol, Dad.
