Colon cancer has become what they refer to as a chronic disease. Terminal is very rarely mentioned. 16 years ago when he had the origonal tumor and 12 infected lymphnodes removed it was a lot different. Eight years ago, when it returned to his right lung, it was removed and two chemo treatments. He walked 36 holes of golf in Scotland 3 months later. This time should of been the same.

His origonal cancer doctor retired. The one that treated him for lung cancer must have not read his file very long. He would of been 12 weeks into recovery, IF.

Colon and prostrate will be the first to have cures. If there isn't one already! You have to control the population some how.  ???

Denny, don't take any questions about fontbonne's lack of basketball success as personal against your dad. I just don't agree with what seems to me to be the philosphy of the program over there. Too many short cuts and quick fixes. And I have felt that way for years.

It's tough to not take it personally. The success and philosphy are directly on his shoulders. I still wonder what part of success I'm missing.

Tongue in cheek, Pat. Wrong smiley I guess. Just busted me two karma points. Ouch. Note to self: Proper use of smiley faces.

Denny, we have got to be able to seperate someone's health and the success (or lack of) by a basketball team. Come on, get real here. No one on this board, I hope, wishes your dad anything but the best in health. For sure, that is my sincere wish. If you can't seperate those two, then you should save yourself the torture and not read this board.

But that doesn't mean we can't state our opinion about how the team is playing. Fontbonne has driven me nuts over the years. How can you in 09 play a team like Wash U, on the road, who would later win the national championship, to the wire (and it took several total crap calls by a biased officiating crew, or FC would have won) and then be down 45 in the first half of a first round playoff game!

My opinion: too many quick fixes and too many heads turning the other way over the years.
So this breaks down to getting stomped by Wheaton. What quick fixes and short cuts are you refering to. That's what I'm trying to figure. And by lack of success are you referring totaly to NCAA Tournament games?

AA - I have no problem seperating the two topics.

Hopefan - You failed to mention in your post game of WC v Mac, that Pettyjohn did not play for Mac. Was there any reason you heard?

hopefan

Pettyjohn had some sort of leg injury... he was in regular clothes on bench... not sure when He'll be back... didn't look serious...

I remember the nite and the player. I remember he was sat out the next game against Webster at home. I remember how the player / coach relationship turned out. I know how successful he is now in life. Dad is part psychologist with his coaching duties. He has never given up on a player, unless they burn an irreplaceable bridge. If that's what you are reffering to. It was handled in much more ways then you'll ever know.

If that's it. I got no problems with your blanket statements.

Denny McKinney

I see Schreck didn't play again for EC. Must of been a practice injury?

hopefan

and I remember that night AAred... bad night for Fontbonne....  but why digging up 5 or 6 years later?  enjoy today, leave the past in the past.....  I'll be there for the ladies too if you stop in

The same player Hopefan lobbyed for as All American on this site. And, Hopefan has a pretty high moral standard. His post on the youngman probably open more eyes then anything, because his reputation on here is stellar.

McaFee has monster game... 35 points..... Cutsinger has 21  3 for 3 from 3's..... Spalding goes 9 for 14 from 3's.... spalding 20 of 21 from free throw line!!!!....  If Spalding can win at MacMurray, they can win anywhere in this league....(except at Westmin, which already handled them by containing McAfee and outrebounding Spalding badly)....

Spalding isn't eligible for the NCAA playoffs yet, so no AQ.

Big win for Spalding. I asked earlier, are they playing for the AQ this year?

Let's see how they do today. Back to back on he road for college kids no use to it, is a challenge. Esp. if they had same game travel yesteday. They will wear down today. I think the schools that play them on the second day of the trip have a huge advatage. When the conf. schedule was set up I would have been lobbying hard for seeing them at my place on Saturday. Anybody eles see validity in that arguement?

I agree with the basic premise, but I think they will have enough gas left in the tank to win at Blackburn today. The women's game, however, could be a different story.
