But, Diuom, Jenkins and Hamilton's pts in paint were earned.

PERCEPTION. Hmmmmmm.

against 4 Prin players under 6 feet and Syndness who at 6"3 may be fortunate to weigh 160 lbs...  MY PERCEPTION....   Hmmmmmmmmm

Can I get even money on ALL games cancelled Wednesday Nite?  :o :o ;D

Hopefan it was a fun win for a struggling team. I know you were entertained. FU women were down Big, also.

Back to the Gorlock Dome.

hopefan

No question entertaining Denny.....

Debating on trip to Fulton if things are cleared up by Wednesday.... or maybe to Rolla?

can Fontbonne compete against Westmin?  Well Lisch can shut down Tolson...

Question to the general readership... if a fan, a knowledgeable fan, has a reasonable thought that a player has a questionable eligibility status, what should they do?

1) nothing, it's none of the fan's business
2) yap about it on this site, accomplishing nothing
3) report it to the school's AD
4) report it to the SLIAC commissioner
5) call the NCAA and describe the situation to verify that it is outside of the rules, then proceed to number 3 or 4
6) keep it to themselves so as not to embarrass the player and create waves at the school....

Note, this has nothing... NOTHING to do with Big Red's accusations regarding Lou Dioum.

Denny... curious as to your response.... in fact, curious to anyone's response..... Does a fan have the right to want to see things running by the rules, or is their right simply to watch games????

Hope: accusation might be a little strong. All I am saying is that a five minute check on the internet seems to raises some questions. I like questions better than accusation.

He was on JC rosters in 2004, 2005, and 2006. He was listed on rosters with a college team in Canada in 2007 and 2008. Someone with his same name played in Europe in 2009. He doesn't show up anywhere last year, but if he is in this nation on a Student Visa, he had to be a full time student somewhere. In DIII, you are only eligable for 4 years which must come in the first 10 semesters as a full time student. If he is a citizin (which knowing the immagration laws like I do, I highly doubt), then he could not have been in Canada for two years. And Fontbonne lists him as a Jr.?

All I am saying is does not seem to add up. Maybe NAIA, but NCAA D III. But it might be as Dennis says, he has an older brother with the same first and last name ;)  Kind of like the 15 year old who pitched in the LL World Series as a 12 year old a few years ago.

And I do want to compliment the FC coach for finally giving Lisch a chance. Sounds like his defense averted what would have been the death loss for FC. I can't beleive no one else who watches the team ever thought of maybe giving Lisch a chance ;D But I guess that is why they are the coaches and as Dennis says, the rest of us are just fans ;)

Hopefan - Tough question. You would obviously have to be close enough to know all the details. Legibility is a tough call. It is based on Univ. rules. And that does very. WC and Wash U declare an athlete elgible for the year. FU is by semester. Mac I believe is tri.... That's if your discussing grades.

Other infractions very. Each school has a compliance officer that can be contacted.

I have never been in that situation. I'm sure you need to contact the athlete and confront them with your beliefs. How they reacted would probably help answer your question.

I don't think I would want to be in that situation.

Lisch has been a season and half project. JV has been very productive. His start was decided on a week ago. First half play in thursdays JV game almost derailed the plans. The defensive end has never been a problem. Saturday he played mostly under control. Dribble obsession put us in a few shot clock issues. 4 pts 6 rbs 2 assists and 3 turnovers. Foul trouble will always be an issue. He's a very physical defender. Plus is he only took 2 shots.

hopefan

I would think that if Lisch could hold the opposing lead guard, ie Zimmerman, Tolson to well below their average and give them a hard time starting their offense, that the assists and turnovers at 2 or 3 would be acceptable.. I agree, he doesn't get the offense started quickly enough... however, one of Fontbonne's faults as I see it is standing around, not moving without the ball... wings have to move to receive that first pass, Dan has to be ready to give it to them....

I get so sick of Dennis and his spin on here. Where do you get off calling out the Prin by name? The Prin Men's BB program has more respect around the league than FC could ever dream of. I will will never go to another FC game until changes are made.

As soon as anyone questions anything that goes on at FC you attack them and then you go into the sympathy mode. FC has been one drama after antoher for years. How could FC trail a team like Prin by 18 points?

And don't tell me about discipline problems. The worst behavior I ever saw at a basketball game was by arguable Fontbonne's best ever player when he went nuts on coach McKinney in a time out huddle with five seconds left in a one point game with Rose Hulman his junior year. He broke the locker room door after ripping off his jersey and throwing it in Coach McKinney's face and screaming "I will kill you you f****ng old man." All of this was in full view of the crowd. Coach McKinney was in the locker room with him when the game ended with a last second put back by a Fontbonne player to win the game, with the head coach in the locker room!

The whole crowd was in shock. It was eerie how quiet the crowd was as a last second game winning shot was made - but all the attention was on the yelling from the locker room. I have never have seen anything like it. I am not here to crucify this young man and I will not mention his name, but he should have been arrested that night. It was that bad. His penalty: he had to sit out one game. Would a bench warmer been given the same penalty? I lost all respect for the Fontbonne program that night.

Now Denny, deny that happened. And this was right when all the rumors about xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx? By having no consequences for behavior like the above, Fontbonne is its own worst enemy. Would Joe Bench Warmer been given the same treatment? Then (I have been told) there was an arrest of another key player on that team for drunk and disorderly conduct for pulling a fire alarm in a Maryville dorm, two nights before he played aganist Maryville! Who bailed him out of the Clayton jail?

Now Spin TAHT.

lisch has been a year and a half "project"? Give me a break. He spends a year with a great tactician like Rick Majerus, but it takes a year and a half of those 30 minute FC practices(consisting mostly of running three man weave layups) to get him ready to play in maybe the worst Conf in all the NCAA? What  a joke.

allamericanredhead

over the line? it is your board, but i do know the behavior was the worst I have ever seen at a sprots event and fueled a lot of the rumors that then went around. i stay with my original statement that if this had been a bench warmer (or a member of the women's team) they would have never wore a FC unirom again. A one game suspension? and you wonder why FC has the reputation they do?

The Webster game against Missouri S&T in Rolla is scheduled for Tuesday. If you go to see them play on Wednesday it will be because it was postponed. I would guess, however, that it is as likely to be canceled as postponed, especially if travel conditions on Wednesday are expected to be iffy.

hopefan

yikes, thanks yjak.....  Tuesday game however, sounds like 0 possibility with the weather....

And if you had only talked about the behavior, that would have been fine. When you started delving into activities that are illegal, that was far, far different.
