Question to the general readership... if a fan, a knowledgeable fan, has a reasonable thought that a player has a questionable eligibility status, what should they do?

1) nothing, it's none of the fan's business
2) yap about it on this site, accomplishing nothing
3) report it to the school's AD
4) report it to the SLIAC commissioner
5) call the NCAA and describe the situation to verify that it is outside of the rules, then proceed to number 3 or 4
6) keep it to themselves so as not to embarrass the player and create waves at the school....

In response to this question from yesterday.....in my opinion if the fan is reasonably sure then I would think they should do #5 to verify and then call the schools AD #3 and then if not satisfied with the answer proceed to #4...again just my opinion.

I think number 2, Hope.   ??? ::) :o ::)

Your suggestion was to arrest the player. Really? For improper language? Then what?

Threatening to kill your coach? So out of control that you destroy school property by breaking a door in half while knocking it off its hinges? Doing it all in front of a whole gym full of people? Try that in the airport when they tell you your flight has been delayed. See what happens? Life's lesson, right.  And this is far from an isolated incedent, just the worst.

Q: What would constitute a two game suspension at FC?

AARH - Your new goal should be to get as many negative karma as actual posts.  You're well on your way!

With the three teams tied at 3 losses, what games remain for each?  Who has the most difficult path to avoid being the 4th seed in the conference tourney?

Greenville must play each of the other 4 top teams... They have Westmin at home, are at Mac, at Webster, and have Spalding at home  (vs top 5 teams)

Mac has already played Westminster twice....  they are at Spalding (if they beat the weather tonight), at Webster, and have Greenville at home..(vs top 5 teams)

Westmin has already played Mac and Spalding twice, so have only a game at Greenville and home vs Webster left (vs top 5 teams)

Clearly Westmin has the easiest path, and should finish with 4 losses for 2nd, while Mac and Greenville both have two road games against top 5 teams....  Mac has shown they can win on the road against a top team, but hard to imagine a win at spaulding, or at Webster...    I think though, that gville has so many tough games left, that they may lose a home game and finish 10-6 for fourth, Mac 11-5, Westmin 12-4  of course this assumes noone loses to Fontbonne or the other 3... not a given as people begin to tire.....

The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

I appreciate an active room... +1 for everyone!!!!!

Hope I havent had a ton of time at work to look at all the schedules but do agree WC has the easiest road.
It's hard to see Eureka not winning so they might get someone, but maybe not one of the top 4-5 teams...
Looks like Prin might trip someone up, and I never wanted to go to Carlinville late in the year...

I think the Carlinville factor is the most likely, along with a possible Fontbonne win.... as bad as Fonbonne looked in the first 30 minutes, they did have a great comeback to beat Prin... maybe they'll enjoy that win enough to ride the wave and score an upset.....

not a bad idea. i would still be interested in hearing just where Dennis has coached. he refer to me as "just a fan." Dennis, where have you coached?

If Greenville or Mac go on a skid and FU "rides the wave" they're right back in it with Spalding not being able to play post-season.

I know Denny less than you do I'm sure.  Never met him, don't know what he looks like, maybe could spot him since he'd be around FU's bench?

From what I have read on here he's been a lifelong fan of his Father's.  I don't know if he's ever assisted.  It's not that I'm not interested, but I don't make a point of coming on here to figure out everyone's past.  I come on here to talk SLIAC hoops and the relationships that develop out of that are a bonus.

What's your story AA?  Like I said, it doesn't really matter to me that much but if you want to call everyone out on their history, fill us in on how you're such a big part of it all.

over the line? it is your board, but i do know the behavior was the worst I have ever seen at a sprots event and fueled a lot of the rumors that then went around. i stay with my original statement that if this had been a bench warmer (or a member of the women's team) they would have never wore a FC unirom again. A one game suspension? and you wonder why FC has the reputation they do?

I know I have gone on record with my suspicions before, but I really think that AARH is something who at some point in the time was or attempted to be involved in the program.  He just seems to be too bitter, and only focuses on 3 main issues.  I just get the feeling that he was directly affected or had a friend who was affected negatively because of these issues.  If you'll notice, he tries to hide this by occassionally posting about games, but always coming back to this issue.

I just think he cares too much about these issues to be a casual fan as he claims.  Again, I have no proof whatsoever to substantiate these claims, but I just get that feeling.  I only comment on this again because Denny seems to be concerned that it was something he did.  I would put money on it that he or one of his friends played or used to play for the program.

Interesting.  Maybe the hypothetical bench warmer was a family member, friend, etc who got fed up with playing behind someone....nahhhh, I'll just let it be, and watch this play out!    8-)

It is starting in KC.  The forecast looks bad.  We are out of school an hour early.  All activities canceled in KC area that I know of.

Mr. Ypsi

Y'all stay safe out there!

It's not supposed to start here (SE Michigan) until tomorrow late afternoon, and is expected to be bitterly cold so we will probably miss the freezing rain/ice and go straight to 10-15 inches of snow.  THAT we can handle - ice NOBODY can handle! :P
