AC - AARH and my discussion about the state of officiating in our conference, is that we are all losers. He stated his wife was a ref. I would give him credence in knowing the situation we have.

I stated clearly that WC benefitted from adjusting to the approach of the way Monday nites game was called. Or, not called.

You've been a player or friend of a player for your period of time on this board. How many games have you seen the same officials? FU has one that has called 7 games already (more then 1/3). That's not right.

Most of this has just been two old heads, doing a little chalk talk and remembering.

I have brought up severap pertinent topics regarding this year, for discussion. Or, tried to get a discussion going. It is a case of lack of posters. Or, not juicy enough topics. But, no response.

Today was just some old time talk between 2 guys who have seen a lot of the same things through the years. AARH has me beat by a vouple of years, but great memwey when it comes to the PHL and players who have come thru it.

Sorry if this has bored anyone. Or, got the impression of sour grapes. It used to be called getting "Homered".

AARH - Pollards were from the Troy area, I believe. Mr. Hightower has called alot of games for Dad when Mr. Hightower was younger. Thru this tough time Dad has received numerous emails, cards and phone calls. He is a very nice individual and a great bigtime official.

Prin 101  Greenville  89

Great win for Prin, bad loss for Greenville
Zimmerman goes for 33....  Prin has no size at all, yet the boxscore suggests that Greenville failed to take advantage... Greenville goes 6-26 from 3 point range... why have that many 3's when the ball seemingly could have gone inside on most possessions....This loss solidifies Greenville in the 4 spot in the tourney, unless they could turn things around at Mac on Saturday....

This is Prin's first significant win in a long time.... great job ... they won it doing what they do best .. the perimeter game.. 13-23 from 3's , Zimmerman 6-7, Macdonald 4-7

That game was at Principia, which is a tough place for a visiting team to shoot and a place where Prin shoots well when they have players who can shoot -- which hasn't always been the case.

Hopefan, you need to put a trip to Prin on your bucket list.

Agree that Hopefan needs to get to Principia.

Also think that it was nice to see Denny and allamerican have a good conversation no matter what the subject was.

Heard that Fontbonne JV played last night....if in fact that is correct, anybody know how the game went?

Mac at Prin next Tuesday....? except next Wednesday is must see Webster at Westmin....  don't know if I can handle back to back and still be at work the next morn......

UGH loss to Prin really hurts.  Appears that this was one of those guts games where you need to change things up and do whatever you can to pull it out.  Didnt happen.

Hopefully a better game in store Sat as I'm still attempting to make that one.

Officiating was not good when I played either. 98-01  If I remember correctly my Jr year our staff actually formally protested enough to get one crew banned from returning to conference action.  Sure didnt seem to help our cause the rest of the year.

I said put it on your bucket list -- along with the 300+ other D3 venues I know you want to visit. Doesn't mean you have to scratch it off right away.

Greenville 01   at Mac.....look for an old guy with a Hope sweatshirt!!!!

Yjak... that game Mac at Prin does look like a good opportunity... that's why I brought it up... and if Prin can beat Greenville there, they'll give Mac a good game too... because I view Mac and Greenville as similar teams... not much size, very quick point, a couple of good jumpers, not great outside shooting, though Mac is a little better than Gville in that catagory. 

Tonite's games.... BC at Webster ladies is clearly the game to watch... stay for the men's game, but if it is a dog early and we hear from Denny that Mac at fontbonne is competitive, may be worth a quick trip over to Fontbonne to see second half of that game....

GC 01 - Surely you jest. Poor officiating. Impossible.  

Were you there the year GC won the SLIAC Tourney on the most embarassing moment in refereeing history. Was what caused the front row rail. House was so packed that the students were 2 deep on the sidelines. FC had a 1 point lead and 5 seconds to go. Ball on the stands side at center court. FC player had a dressed up GC student standing on both sides. FC entered the ball and the player was tackled (to the floor). GC trying to stop clock and make FC shoot Free Throws. FC player hits the floor and the ball rolls loose. GC player picks it up and makes a running layup from FT Line to win.

GC fans stormed the floor. Refs disappear in the maylay. Only Championship game FC has ever loss. Next year the railing was installed. FC inbounder had physical contact with fan. Not blatant. Just trying to get the ball inbounds.

No AQ that year or it would of been nuts.

Denny 1998.  I was there but not dressed, had to make my way through the JV ranks early on. 
Yes it was ridiclious and fortunate that it didnt decide the AQ.  I want to say it was Barry Payne that hit the layup.....but memory isnt QUITE that sharp.

I haven't heard anything regarding Nick Jone's status and how bad the hand/wrist is...   ANYBODY ANYBODY?  Guess we'll just have to wait until tonite........
