Metal...I came so close to coming down a couple of weeks ago... just couldn't handle the round trip in one day after a long week at work... maybe next year... I surely wish Spalding was eligible for the conference tourney (unless they were hosting  ;D ;D)..  would make the tourney that much better... certainly if you ever come up this direction for a Spalding game, let us know......

who gave me positive karma points?  >:( i am "up" to -15. i have worked very hard to establish myself as the bad karma king of this board. so what jerk gave me positive points? i am drawing the line in the sand. if i am not "up" to negative 20 by noon on sunday, then i am boycotting this board; and you know i am the one that keeps this forum pumping. and i just now learned how to use the smiley faces :-*

If your goal is negative supremacy in general, forget it!  "Touchdown Tommy" (MIAC football board) is at something like -2,000 - you should live so long! ;D

hope - I have read the board before jumping on this and I saw many times you were ready to pull the trigger to head down. It seems like you are an old timer who has visited a lot of gyms. If that is the case you will probably like Spalding's. Very old with a balcony across the top. Fans right on top of the court. Fun place to watch the game but I am sure with places like the KFC Yum center going up, the players would like a much newer arena.

Denny - my prayers are with your father and the family.

I have just finished researching this legendary master of the negative karma – this Touchdown Tommy – and all I can say is, OMG!!!

Over 1800 negative karma points!!! I am awestruck. I hastily am making plans to move to Minnesota and study at the knees of this genius.

His work is pure brilliance: the mastering of the art of sarcasm, the ability to lance sacred cows with no second thought to the civility of his attacks - all while maintaining the dignity of a Zen master  telling the world to "kiss my @$$." Seldom will the opportunity to study such genius avail itself in the lifetime of a mere mortal, a novice in the study of the ancient code of smart @$$.

Excuse me while I head to Wal-Mart to stock up on long johns and ice fishing gear.  When I return, you will marvel at all I have learned.

How big is tonight's game?  Webster will play arguably the league's hottest team, Spalding, in Grant Gym.  After a tough loss with one of it's best players trying to come back, how will Webster respond?  Looks like they might have looked past Blackburn somewhat with this game looming.  Or it could have just been an off night while adjusting to losing Jones.  Sounds like some key missed layups and free throws.  Looks like we will have a very interesting finish to the SLIAC.  The tourney has a good shot of going back to Fulton now.

Webster's remaining schedule:
Spalding
@ Westminster
Greenville
@ Fontbonne

Westminster's remaining schedule:
@ Blackburn
Webster
Eureka
@ Principia

If Webster can get through the rest with only one more loss, I'd expect them to host and they probably deserve it.  Unless of course the loss comes at the hands of Westminster and the Jays can win out.  I'd say they have a more favorable schedule than Webster, but you just never know.

No question about it Blue Westminster has the more favorable schedule, playing the bottom 3 and Webster, though the bottom 3 have proven formidable in the last 2 weeks..

But, let's assume this scenario:
Webster beats Greenville and Fontbonne, and Westminster beats Prin, BC and EC... I know... lots of assumptions in that statement..
if, that happens...
if Spalding beats Webster tonite, Webster and Westmin would go into Wednesday night each with 3 losses, and the winner is the conference champ
if Webster beats Spalding, then beats Westmin, Webster is 2 games ahead and champ
if Webster beats Spalding but loses to Westmin, Westmin and Webster would each have 3 losses, BUT, Spalding would be the next team in line... and Webster would have beaten them twice, while Westminster split with them.... tiebreaker to Webster

now then, less likely would be a Webster win over Westmin, but a loss to Spalding and to say, Greenville... Webster would take that tiebreaker as they would have beaten Westmin 2 times...

SO in summary.. Westmin needs to finish ahead of Webster in the standings to host...Webster appears to have all tiebreakers....  without other crazy happenings, a Westmin win over Webster and an additional Webster loss to Spalding or Gville puts Westmin in... but Westmin can't lose to the bottom 3....

Hope - this is actually incorrect. If Spalding beats Webster, they will be sitting with 2 losses while Westminster and Webster sit with 3...That would put Spalding in the drivers seat to the conference champ. After reading the SLIAC regulations, the conference champ is the winner of the regular season.

Now if you were just stating that the winner of WU/WC game would host, then you would be correct.

Preface: I have already picked my horse in this race. WU. And, I wanted them off the streak.

Hello Fulton!

Spalding comes into Gorlok Dome with the only thing they have to play for, A Conference Championship.

This isn't (1-11) BC with Obie Farmer (who didn't have the stamina to play 6 mins against FU) and Chris Williams (?). This is Spalding with POY McAffee and Brasher and Curtis.

I know from Hopefan's description it was a meaningless loss. But, WU should not of had a must win game to play. And it ranks up there with FU's 02 loss @ PC.

I hope Coach Bunch gets some miles out of that game. Anyone who played knows what I mean.

Gorlok's need a big bounce back. Get in their gear Coach Bunch.

you are absolutely right Metaljacket.. my thoughts were on who would host the tourney... in that situation,
spalding would be conference champ, and deserve to be recognized as such.....
I'm already at Webster... very early... as I had the day off... looking forward to both games... jacket... Webster does an internet audio broadcast,,,, you may be able to listen in......
