Blackburn won two conference championships, (one tourney, and the following year's regular season) after Ramsey with Kaneshiro as coach too. And would have competed for many more if he hadn't gone back to Hawaii after his third year.  Ramsey hired Kaneshiro, I would say he stepped down.  I highly doubt he fired himself

right guard... do you know anything of the status of the current Blackburn search? Also women's coach Williams... will he be back?  As I said before, with the loss of some very good seniors from other SLIAC schools, and what BC returns next year (if all underclassmen return), BC could/should emerge as competitive for a top 4 spot in 2011-2012.

Just got back from vacation out of the country to celebrate my wife's 60th, and have learned of Coach McKinney's passing.....  I'm so sorry, I so enjoyed talking hoops with him, and loved how he'd give me the needle when the Griffs would win one when I had predicted a loss... " You didn't think we get this one, did ya??!!" with a glint in his eye.... Gob bless you, Coach....

Thank you All so much. Long, But incredible weekend,

Thanks to So many. Coach Barber and the entire GC team was there friday nite, such a special relationship we've had.

Pops is gone. Basketball will go on. As a poster said "Dad didn;t invent the game." With a career that span 7 different decades, I got think he left a mark.

Hopefan - Wonderful gift for your wife.
Yjak - You were the only one who got IT.
Pat- Mom was a faithful follower. You have been tremendous to Dad's programs.

I will hope that Denny and Mom continue to be faithful followers and contributors to these pages.... Coach McKinney contributed much to the SLIAC, he loved the game and the kids who play it....  his passing doesn't mean the game is over... Denny, you and I can keep this thing going, but I can't do it myself... I've found that out the last two months... please consider

From the St. Louis Post today

"The NCAA has placed Fontbonne University on probation for two years for "major violations" in its financial aid process.

The school, which competes in Division III, was using high school athletic participation as one of the criteria in awarding merit-based scholarships. Also, two former coaches (women's basketball and men's lacrosse) were on the school's committee that recommended financial aid for incoming students.

More than $48,000 was awarded to 23 student-athletes. The NCAA does not allow consideration of athletic participation in awarding aid in Division III.

The violations were ruled unintentional, and the sanctions are public censure."

Unintentional?????

Interesting that The St Louis Post can't post a single score from the SLIAC most days, but they caught this info...

But it is VERY disappointing to receive this kind of publicity....   I'll wonder aloud (note I use the verb wonder, not speculate) if this ties into Women's Coach Keith Quigley's surprise resignation???

I asked the NCAA a follow-up question that I would be really interested to get the answer to. Hope they are able to answer.
