I totally TOTALLY disagree with your statement about Fontbonne lacking energy and conviction...They got beat up physically... augie beats up CCIW teams physically... but I thought Fontbonne played VERY hard down to the last possession...

I would agree that they worked hard.  Let me walk back what I said and just say that it comes down to making good decisions and working smart. 

I do think Fontbonne fans have reason to be excited.  I would like to know what the anti-McKinney poster from two years ago thinks about the new coach and new look Griffins.

Mac kept it close against Augie for 30 minutes... climbed the mountain a couple of times, never could quite get over the top....  tied it at 38 after being down 12 in the first half....fell behind quickly in 2nd half but cut it to 4 with 10 minutes left.. finished down 12....Dylan Burton returns, had a couple of very good plays, but looked awkward on others... ankle bothered him seriously, but it was time to give it a shot...  hopefully he'll be 100% for January.... these kind of games are great preparation for the conference matchups to come.....  Thanks to Mulligans on the square for good food, lots of diet coke, and all the football games... it was a fun day in Jacksonville, and no deer tried to get me either!!!

Still, a very commendable effort by Eureka. D3 teams have not made a habit out of taking D1 teams down to the wire in recent years, much less actually beating them.

Eureka finally has everyone playing again after suffering injuries, illness, football absence and suspension...  They started conference 0-2, but I certainly think they'll still make top 3 or better in the SLIAC.
