Hope the stats I got were from the press article. Cranky? I just asked if you'd share some observations. Wow

Ok. found box score. Sorry for that. But, thanks for your observations? Wonder if Gentry and Doerhaur were in street clothes?

Well EC. Looks like Degeare, Jackson and Haywood got 24+ minutes. Two freshmen and a transfer. Looks like they may be front runners for major components. The kid from out hey 44, Ettinger, had 5 pts in just 4 mins. Not sure when those minutes were played. The 3 new Vegas freshmen got reasonable PT. Maybe we'll get some remarks from JoeVegas, if he was in attendance. Like mentioned in previous post, everyone played. Be interesting to know who played strong and who were just getting in the game for the "Fun".

JoeVegas if you were there or watching the Live Feed (which I couldn't get at all) your opinions would be greatly appreciated. SLU will probably be a pick to battle for A-10 title. So it was expected to see this kind of result. Surprised in the just 14 pts in second half.

Oh well, hopefully there was a good contingent for FU were in attendance. Be interesting to see how EC does in next contest. Again EC thanks for your game views. +1K for effort.

ouch.. TQ  thanks for the info... I'm sure I would have found that out one way or another.. but imagine my 'chagrin' had I driven all the way to Elmhurst only to find an empty gym... would have been an ultimate senior citizen moment.....  Well nice to know my trip on Friday gets cut in half, and a little more energy to watch Saturday DH at Webster or Fontbonne...    also didn't realize the ladies were playing too.. can hopefan sit through 4 games on Friday??;D ;D ;D

Denny... cranky?  me?    what makes you think that?  In fact in your latest mish mash of mush, you rip me for contributing exactly what EC asked for.. a game report... my post just letting you know there was a boxscore, and accepting your apology up front for saying I had not supplied a boxscore when I had...  you are something else Denny.. I never know when to ignore you, get angry at you, laugh at you, pity you, or just give up on what I do here.. you certainly take the fun out of it....

CCIW/SLIAC Challenge moved to Westminster...

http://www.elmhurstbluejays.com/news/2013/11/1/MBB_1101132312.aspx?path=mbball

This means a change needs to be made on the SLIAC schedule reflecting Westminster as the home team for the games versus Elmhurst and Millikin and as the site of the games between Greenville and Elmhurst & Millikin. Probably a bit much to ask that it would already show up that way.

Joevegas

You know I was able to watch fontbonne game online.  Had to stay in town to see unlv lose to a D2 school.   Fontbonne was dead in the water with Gentry out.  A freshman point Guard against thAt defense us very difficult.  The two Vegas kids from Gorman did well   They had a better first half than the other two big guys.  Overal,  I think fontbonne will still be a good team this year.  If I had to say anything it would be that there were way too many subs by coaches in first five mins. But that was the result of terrific defense by St. Louis   I will talk to the dads of the Gorman kids soon to find out how the atmosphere was down there.

In a way the change is disappointing to me, as I've never been to Elmhurst before... always nice to see a different place... wonder what the schedule conflict was that generated the change?  With 4 games on Friday, hope Coach Mitchell is out there grilling up some dogs and burgers!!!!

Vegs... the competition level is SO different .. Certainly Coach Shafer was just giving everyone some minutes... substitutions will be quite different in two weeks... the cream will quickly rise to the top....   Fontbonne has the talent level to be a top four team in the SLIAC this year... just a matter as to whether all the youth can learn how to win that quickly...  I strongly feel that will be dictated by point guard play.. Gentry is the key.. he has to get better than he was last year.. it may be easier for him as the talent level surrounding him gets better....

Lots of people got to play last night for the Griffs... a couple of key people missing..injury?  A night to remember, and hopefully a learning experience that Coach can put to use for the regular season...

How did it end up?  Can we get a game report?

I do believe he was asking for your report. The ones you do well. And, have always done.

Hopefan no comments? Wow. All we get is a link, with no boxscore. Who were the players that are injured. Dallas Hayward had good stats. Is he a PG of the future? Grant Tucker, hit a 3pt. Is he a 6'8 wing? Jared Greenlee, how did he look? Or, Welch? How is FU's size? Did any newcomers impress you? I've never known you to attend an early season Sliac game and not give us an insightful take. Good Crowd?

On my phone. With the small print for these old eyes. I did not catch the box score icon.

Well Denny, there was a box score within the link  Guess that is how you got some of those stats... apology accepted...  Gentry and Dorauer did not play... I said injuries?in previous post.... Don't know for sure....

You got your apology. Since we got nothing from you. I tried taking what I could from box score. Mish, Mash, Mush. Maybe! That's why you are complimented for your reports.

Cranky, may have been a poor choice of words. My Bad. I still don't understand why you refused to answer any questions or give us any eye ball test on the came.

I don't need your pity. I'm not wanting you to give up or trample on your fun. I just don't understand why this particular game was chose by you, to not comment on. You may have very good reasons.

Thank you Joe Vegas for your response. Hopefan, it appears that it could just be that it was ME. Your response to JoeVegas came quick and with details. Just my opinion.

In football, Greenville leads Westmin big and St. Scholastica leads Minnesota Morris big... if that holds, it sets up a conference championship game between Greenville and St Scho next Saturday afternoon at Greenville... both will come in undefeated in conference... should be a heck of an atmosphere..... I imagine the winner will get an automatic NCAA bid... also imagine that just like basketball, the UMAC leader will be matched against a high seed....

Since hopefan introduced a sport other than basketball I will comment that I noticed in the box score of the WU vs IWC men's soccer game that IWC only had 8 players, including the goalie, listed. If that's not a mistake then it's no wonder WU won 11-0.

That doesn't bode well For IWC's introductory year in D3 sports.......

I just noticed Elmhurst has a top ten ranked women's volleyball team.. and their conference tourney is the weekend of Nov 9... which would put the NCAA's first matchups the following weekend... I imagine Elmhurst is assuming a host opportunity.. pushing the hoops out to Westminster.....

Just noticed that Webster has an exhibition game this Friday (11/8) at Drury in Springfield, MO. Drury won the D2 national championship last season and yesterday played an exhibition game against Duke, losing 81-65. Will be interesting to see how Webster does.

hopefan

Wonder if Drury - Webster might be on the internet?
