I will just say that GC played Wash U surprisingly well yesterday. I did not read into his use of OK as being any Norm. I came away feeling like things are going to be better then a lot think, at GC this year.

A large number of conferences have their Coach's preseason picks posted by now... hoping we'll see the SLIAC picks soon....

EC 2013 version defeat EC Alumni (big lineup including Lessen, Zasada, Fritsch, Wagner) by 2 pts yesterday.

Webster plays its first game Saturday night, but for their opponent, Calumet College of St. Joseph an NAIA D2 school, it will be their fifth game.

The SLIAC SID informed me we'll be seeing the Coach's selections tomorrow and Wednesday...

Here's what will be fun to follow in the SLIAC this year....

I see Mac and Spalding being logical choices for the top two slots, and Blackburn and Iowa Wesleyan likely the bottom 2 slots .. with Prin at number 8... but what a log jam in spots 3-7... what two of Eureka, Fontbonne, Webster, Greenville and Westminster will make the conference playoffs....

VERY good point by Yjak....SJ Calumet beat Silver Lake 82-75, beat Goshen  71-66, and lost in double OT to Siena Heights......   they play Moody Bible Tuesday night...

With what Spalding shows on their roster right now. I don't see a logical top 2 spot there. Unless there has been some news on the board about others joining SC.

I feel pretty good about Spalding... every one of those names on the roster saw key minutes at one time or another last season.. and I'm assuming Spalding isn't even yet divulging new names....  will be interesting to see what the coaches think later today or tomorrow

well the old, but somewhat obsolete adage  'ladies before gentlemen' comes to play... the SLIAC released Coach's picks for the SLIAC women today... I'm assuming Men come tomorrow... I was going to post the ladies' standings over on the SLIAC women's site, but YJak has already done so... THANKS..

IWC is @ Drake tonite. I watched a horrible valley feed for about 4 mins. IWC is not horrible!

   Will make the conf all that much more interesting if IWC can be competitive at our level.....

About the same result as FU @ SLU. IWC broke 40+ points. I'm just saying. They have a chance to be a real tough road opponent. I don't think you can take it as a W. Curious to hear what the "Home" environment might be.

Fontbonne picked sixth in league.  That may be right.  Word is Gentry is out for the year.  Injury bug is making the rounds on this team but without Gentry, not sure how the team will gel.
