The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

I can see why ur baffled about dornhauer. This team needs a point guard.   Not one that scores a lot but runs the offense.  Dornhauer at least has more experience than Dallas.   I would even try kody at point.  But ur right.  Kody is carrying the team in scoring but they will struggle rest of year if they don't get others more involved in scoring

I was saying this summer to move Ettinger to PG. We had Gentry last year who was a score first PG. That didn't work to well. I have a hard time playing a PG that can't shoot it. There have been a couple in this conference. And one team just left a man in the paint. Till PG tried to drive. I'm still trying to replace Ettinger's scoring and rebounding.

Nathan Riechert - good size out of Springfield, MO. Good production. That Half.

Hopefan.   Is there a game on griffins schedule that they can win.

I think Fontbonne can still finish in the middle of the SLIAC pack... win 6 vs the bottom 3, learn, get some confidence, they could get wins vs Eureka/Westmin/ .... even Webster...  but they have to get better....

Funny, Webster has 4 frosh who have impressed ....3 guards and a strong 6'4" forward.... not forced to play, getting 5-10, even 15 minutes, good experience, all have flowed right in....

Webster winning somewhat ugly today.. playing the zone the whole way very effective.. and the four frosh I mentioned got 30 points combined.....

I watched Eureka-Rockford on the internet for awhile... frustrating because it wasn't being announced, so you didn't know who the players were.. Eureka got a lot of points from a tall kid who must have been Sam James....  team defense was pourous.. Rockford got SO Many hoops around the basket... Eureka was always down, but hung around within 8 or 9 the whole game...I would think they're still a legit contender for a conference tourney shot... Fontbonne however, may be falling off that list, they have to show something soon....

Josh Fenoglia (6' 6") went 23/13 and Sam James 20/9.  Defense is a huge concern for this EC team.  Conceding way too many easy baskets and allowing 47 FT attempts.  NPU is @ EC tomorrow and I think it's almost a must win to get some momentum going into the Mac game next week.  Otherwise, this club could very quickly find themselves 0-9 or 1-8 after the Westmin game.

honestly, EC could just as easily win their next 4 games.. no easy chore, but four in a row at home... no one in the SLIAC can be considered unbeatable.....  NP, Mac, LCC, and Webster.. it could happen

Possible, of course, but I think Mac is a really bad match up for this iteration of EC unless their post defense dramatically improves.  Slagle could be in line for a monster game.

NPU is a mess right now. I have no idea what Eureka looks like, and I'd still bet on the Red Devils. Aside from a seven-minute stretch in the Wisconsin Lutheran game in which the NPU defense went steal-happy, the Vikings aren't stopping anybody on defense; they aren't even slowing them down. And their inside game is nonexistent.

Looking forward to Webster - Elmhurst.... could be a very telling game for this prognosticator as to just who should be favored to make the SLIAC tourney... CCIW pundits were surprised to see Elmhurst lost two to the SLIAC at Westminster... My opinion is that Westmin beat them in the first game of the season because it was THE FIRST GAME OF THE  SEASON...glaring weaknesses showed for Westmin that game, which future opponents have taken advantage of.. would they beat Elmhurst in a rematch?  I'm not so sure...

Greenville on the other hand, has been pretty consistent and has moved ahead of the pack in the SLIAC to be considered a top four likelihood.... So I use this game to compare Webster with Greenville.. Two totally different styles... Will Webster's zone force hurried perimeter shots from Elmhurst, and will it be able to keep the ball out of the hands of Nick Sanford around the basket... and note Elmhurst shot poorly from the perimeter at Westmin, but since then have had two very good shooting games from Guards Kyle Wuest and Bryant Ackerman in wins over Benedictine and Lawrence....   I think Webster's quickness at Guard might hurt those guys if Webster throws in a little man to man....

Like I said, hoping for a good one... and NOTE... the game is at 4:00!!!!    Some places, including Webster programs have shown it at 8:00.

Great game, tough loss for Webster, 71-70 Elmhurst win... Elmhurst shoots out to an early double digit lead hitting 3s against the zone... man to man makes things more difficult and Webster storms back... most of the 2nd half was a 5 point differential or less.. Webster fouls with 14 seconds left down 1, Elmhurst misses, Webster brings it down and gets it to Ahmad Smith, but he gets an off balance runner from the wing that isn't close and it's over....player of the game clearly Kevin Miller , keeping Webster in the game with key hoops and dominating the boards.  Three frosh guards again make a huge difference for Webster, scoring 21 off the bench and not making freshman errors... VERY impressive
