Spalding University sits at 9-1. The schedule shows they have. vs Prin, @ IWC, vs EC, vs BC. That gets them thru 2/15. Then they welcome Webster to Louisville. They should be 13-1 going into the Webster game. And, that's time for others to play each other. Might be Louisville, Again.

As for as the FU at Principia game. Not much experience on FU playing a nite game on the Bluffs and in a gym known to be the worst shooting environment League. If Patterson and Wilgus get Hot at Home against FU's zone. Syndess will get his and PC's Big Man can keep the paint honest.

Can't believe I'm looking at a PC game this much. I have seen strange things happen up there. Ask Millikin. 8-)

And your so right Coach. Hopefan hit the lottery.

Denny, you're not mentioning that Spalding still has to play at MacMurray and at Greenville... probably the two toughest road games of the season...  Mac only has to play at Webster..  I think this gives Mac a slight advantage... of course the Spalding at Mac game is huge, and Spalding took it to them over in Louisville

I was giving some thought to candidates for most Outsanding Player... I see a total logjam..

IF you rule out anybody from the bottom 5 teams (EC, FU, BC, PC, IWC) here are the candidates from top 5   stats from Conf games

Spalding - Blakemore   15.1 PPG, 2.1 APG, 1.8 A/T ratio
Webster - Miller     15.4 PPG,  9 RPG
Webster - Smith     15.4 PPG,  3.6 APR,  2.9 A/T Ratio
Westmin   -  Lee    16.2 PPG  4.5 RPG
Westmin   -  James   13.1 PPG  5.4 RPG  2.6 APG   .9 A/t Ratio
Greenville   -  Harris   14.4 PPG  10.1  RPG
Greenville  -  Mumphard  14.6  PPG   3.6 APG   1.7 A/T Ratio
Mac   -  Slagle    13.8 PPG  7.9 RPG  3.8 APG  2.0 A/T  ratio

Best from bootom 5
Prin - Sydness   17.6 ppg,   5.6 rpg,   2.7 Apgs,  1.0 A/T ratio

CLEARLY nobody obvious statistically so far

Congrats Griff's. Now ride the streak!

With Eureka and Iowa Wesleyan up next, that streak should go to four... the game after that is hosting Westminster, and while Westmin could just about be packing it in by then in the race for the conference tourney, I'd still have to say a Fontbonne win in that one would be a mild upset.

I was too beat to go over to Prin last night, but good to see DeGeare have a big game.. he's been down in numbers recently, and when I saw him play, he looked tired and sore....but as I mentioned earlier, will we see the level of production from DeGeare, Greenlee, and, Rucker against top 5 teams that we see against Prin last night.... that's what Fontbonne needs to move to the next level in the SLIAC...

An interesting stat line might be to examine how each of these players did against the other top 4 teams...I might try to work on that after next Friday  ;D ;D

I Keep watching Nick Trisko's Stats for Greenville...

last 6 games, more and more minutes...  averaging  17 mins/game  14 ppg...very similar in size to Webster's Kevin Miller, getting almost as many ppg than Miller in far less minutes

there have been at least two other kids with this kind of size in the last two years...  The big kid from Borgia last yeat that went to Fontbonne, Jacob Martin, showed great potential, but lasted only one semester.... and Jacob Ball at Principia got off to a quick start, but has yet to show the aggressiveness with the ball that Trisko has shown, and his numbers and time has fallen off in the second semester.

Interesting part of the WU/BC box score from last night -- Hunter Ward and Jarrod Huskey start in place of Aaron Griffin and Jonathan Odjo. Other WU starters were the usual -- Miller, Smith and Edwards. Griffin and Odjo both saw double digit minutes.

Hunter Ward gives Coach Bunch some nice flexibility... If he's facing a team with quick guards who penetrate, he can go with Edwards and Odjo, and Smith can go against a small forward...  against a bigger team, Smith goes to the two spot in place of Odjo, and Ward can be at the 3.  Ward is really beginning to fit in... he ran a backdoor cut the other night that was a thing of beauty...

I'm sure all that is correct. I don't recall Blackburn's players well enough to know if what you say is the reason for the change in starting lineup. Of course the lineup configuration doesn't necessarily have to play out in who starts and who doesn't. Seems just as likely to be determined by who the other team has on the floor at any given time. I thought perhaps Coach Bunch was trying to give Ward more time and get him more integrated against a team where a win was the likely outcome. If so, then I'd expect to see Ward start tomorrow against IWC. But, what do I know.  :)
