Washington University, and I suppose everyone in the UAA, plays the Men's game second on Friday and first on Sunday. The SLIAC tried that for a year or two but there was a howl from most of the Women's coaches about that because they played to pretty empty gyms if they were playing the second game, and it was embarrassing.

As someone has already pointed out, the 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m start times are so that the teams that play on Friday (Men one year, Women one year) have a little more rest time between games. The 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m start times are also so that if the Tournament is held at two sites, and one school has both teams playing, its fans could attend both games. It's the same philosophy and system that has been in place since the Post Season Tournaments were brought back. This year's weather made it prudent to change the start times but I have no idea why the 1:00 p.m and 7:00 p.m. times weren't publicized early on. They should have been.

Coach, I got a question for Coach not Commish. Would you ever agree to adding "T"'s as any type of tie-breaker system? You can chose not to answer. I understand that. A curious mind wants to know what that Coach over at UMSL thinks. :)

Thank you.

Well today I will be rooting hard for the Gorlocks. They were my horse from Early. But, I think SU will be as good as it needs to be. Noticed a few games back. They have another gear that they go to if needed. SU is a very confident team. One I haven't seen rattled this year. They feel like they have the players to be there in the end. I like their flow. Probably the most athletic team I've seen in the SLIAC. Barber, Sangester, Blakemore and Hamilton could all be 1st teamers.

To both teams, Enjoy. Lets go Webster!!!

Good looking turn out considering weather scares. Great Atmosphere for the boys. Kudos!

Denny - NO!

The simple solution, which you and others have pointed out, is to put another three game week on the schedule and leave the Tuesday of Tournament Week open for a playoff between the two teams tied for fourth, if indeed there are. The playoff would not be held if one team had swept both games but otherwise it would, on a neutral site.

The SLIAC is already playing a couple of three game weeks and it would be easy to add another. The "good old days" of Wednesday-Saturday games is gone forever due to travel, religious, and calendar concerns.

Webster up 2 at half.. play is ugly, but Kevin Miller got it going in the last couple minutes...I Don't think the crowd is any more than Thursday night... and while I appreciate the effort, Mr announcer needs some work ;D ;D ;D
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

BunchTime

How about them Gorloks, folks!! So happy for Coach Bunch and his squad.

Predictions on who WU will play next week?

hopefan

High likelihood IWU, but who knows....always a big ? due to the geography.. also wonder where Wash U will go...

Enjoy Bunchtime. It's an Awsome feeling as You Know. Congrats Yjak.

Bunchtime - We know it's not at Wash U. Draw a 600 mile circle. WU will be a hypothetical #15 or #16. South if they need one. I'm hoping East and not North. IMO

BunchTime

You got that right, Denny.  Went to 1 tourney in my career and boy is it sweet!  Like I said, happy for Coach and his guys!  I'll ask the obligatory annual question: is this the year that the SLIAC shocks the D3 hoops world. First step is believing!

Let's see where they go first, then speculate about that.

ouch.. seems we were steered wrong concerning Wash U... Men have priority, and will obviously host... IWU, despite losing, may also host.... another writer had Webster to Centre, in Kentucky... and anther to Whitewater in Wisconsin... as we said, SLIAC always a pod filler and a big question mark...
