No I appreciate any interjection, I missed the latest round off cciw chat, did yall ever decide whos the tougher conference: the CCIW or Big Ten?

No such debate, ever.  Though there have been years when the top CCIW team would have stood a very good chance against the worst Big Ten team!  (IWU did beat Arizona some 20+ years ago; not sure if the CCIW has any other wins against a quality d1 team.)

Though there are probably many years where (for their level) the CCIW is harder to win than the Big Ten. ;D

Reality. I believe in Santa, Easter Bunny and for sure Cinderella. Mr. Lloyd's firm insures her Golde Slipper.

And, No one has given me a response to my question. Why Not Webster?

It could happen.  That's why they play the games.

But a few reasons why it probably won't: Ziemnik, Davis, Overstreet, Nelson, Sodemann, Mayberger, Dortch ....

My bad I said I missed that topic, it was the CCIW vs the NBA east conference. . . Discuss. . . I knew I was off base.

Well, in 1996 we beat Roanoke (#1 in the South, and the game on their home court) so badly that a Roanoke fan told our coach that with the green jerseys, he thought they were playing the Celtics (we were up 47 at the half)!  But otherwise, I'm not sure the CCIW has ever been compared to the NBA. ;D

Arizona was not "a quality D1 team" that year, Chuck. The Wildcats went 4-24 and won only one Pac-10 game. It was the worst season in Arizona history, and led to the school hiring a new coach at the end of the season -- a guy named Lute Olson.

North Park has three wins over D1 opponents in the school's D3 era. The second North Park national championship team (1978-79) beat Jacksonville, 78-68, on the home floor of the Dolphins down in Florida. The Dolphins, led by 6'8 future Denver Nugget James Ray, went on that year to win the Sun Belt Conference and appear in the D1 tourney, losing to Virginia Tech in the opening round. It is the only time that a D3 team has ever defeated a D1 team that then went on to participate in March Madness.

Yeah, I knew that Arizona was garbage that year - but with their recent success, I bet I could have slipped it by, if you didn't come along! ::)

I didn't know about NPU's (was it NPC at the time?) win over Jacksonville being the ONLY time a d3 team has beaten a d1 who went on to the Dance.  Now if you had beaten the Artis Gilmore, et. al., Jacksonville team, I would be REALLY impressed! ;D

LOL! What a joke of a game.  Glad I drove to Bloomington to watch the zebras to still the show!  Hahaha!!! Yay, Titans!

Gregory Sager

You play the game to win, so I'm sure that the Gorloks are hanging their heads right now, their season done. But as a fan watching the game, I can't help but tip my cap to Webster. The Gorloks came back from 18 down in the second half to come within a whisker of pulling off the biggest upset in D3 tournament history. And I am not indulging in hyperbole by saying that; I've been following this tourney since the late '70s, and there's never been a bigger upset than this one would've been.

Shameful. I'd be embarrassed to be a Titan right now. Handed the game.
