No problem. I was hoping my comment you bolded would be some kind of heretofore undiscovered truth that would establish my brilliance once and for all. Sadly, I'm not the first person to realize that games are won on the court. Having said that, I think there is a tendency for some of us observers to put games in a won or lost column in our minds before they occur. I try very hard not to do that.

Long time poster Mr. Ypsi brought up an interesting point in another room:

16 games in tourney played by the 4 teams reaching the final four.... 15 won in double digits.....

Hmmm... I think we know the one exception.... Gorlockian, uhhh sorry, Gorlokian fever has struck me again...

Apparently, the fever affects one's ability to spell the names of the conference mascots properly.  You better edit that quickly before Mr. McKinney returns.

Jan month    8 games    5.2 points/game    started last game in Jan

Feb 1 - Feb 15      5 games 10.2 points/game   now a starter

Feb 16 - end of season   6 games    18.2 points/game   perhaps the best player in the conference

That's an interesting point Yjack... I was under the impression he had not played at Ashford or a JC he attended... wonder what circumstance affected his eligibility... and if he has 3 full years of eligibility remaining?   (I just checked Ashford stats for the last several years... Hunter's name never appears)...

Hey new coach for Fontbonne.  Hope he can turn things around

As expected, Anthony Hall it is for FU.  A few people I know said good things about him.

I am in agreement with WUH that WashU will be rebuilding to replace three tremendous starters who likewise were a part of a successful rebuild after Aaron Thompson, Sean Wallis, Cam Smith, Ross Kelley, and Zach Kelly graduated as the last players from the back-to-back national championship seasons. 

I think if Fatoki can develop a consistent 3-point shot, then the Bears' level of play may be better than what is anticipated.  And, keep an eye on Mitch Styzcynski.  He showed flashes of strong play in the few times that he got in the game, and had a thunderous slam vs. Wilmington.  I got a feeling that he could provide some unexpectedly good minutes in the upcoming season.

Any thoughts from anyone on the new hire?  There are obvious advantages for Fontbonne...and disadvantages.. to hiring in house....  I've never met Anthony Hall.. hope I'll have the opportunity....  Let's hope a key advantage of the inhouse hire is that he already has a great relationship with returning players and can retain the nucleus that Coach Schafer brought in... I really believe there is enough there for Fontbonne to be a top 4 team in the conference next season, but the first step is for the players to believe in the newly hired Coach Hall....
