Hopefan - he shut down some of the Best. Never forget the Sliac Tourney game against WU. Spinner's Sr. Year. Dad told Chad the he didn't want Scott to touch the ball. Chad said, Coach he's the PG. Dad said, I don't want him to touch it. Chad denied Scott all over the floor. Tough to run an offense when the PG can't touch the ball. Haha Chad would of run thru a brick wall for my Dad.

Conference Coach's never gave Chad his due!!!

I remember telling you I thought he should be first team All conference.....

Yes you did. The year after he graduated they started an All Defensive Team.

Another player of the week for Hunter Ward. I think we overlook the other things he does for that team. Without miller in the middle he is getting some crucial rebounds and he also has great hands and finds a way to get several steals every game as well. Maybe we are giving him the Matt Holliday treatment. We nag and nag about his game all year but at the end of the season he is hitting .285 and up with 20 homers and a gang of RBI's. Regardless congrats to Ward. Big second half of the season for that kid

To me this is such and under-recognized and under-appreciated part of the game at least in the sense that it doesn't get commented on hardly ever here. There is no stat that measures how an ability to effectively catch a good pass and take advantage of it, or hang onto a rebound, affects the dynamic of a game.

Spalding plays Hope tonight at Wooster.... wish last year's Spalding team could have played Hope... I think it would have been a very competitive game.... but this year, with Spalding coming in inexperienced and young, I don't expect a close game... good experience for Spalding though..

Assuming Spalding plays UW Lacrosse tomorrow (if Wooster beats UW-L and it's a tourney format), they may have a good competitive game for 3rd place....

FU Griffins are back in California. They play a tough Cal Lutheran tonite in the first game. IWU plays Nazerth (?) in the second game. Hopefan do you think FU can come with a split?

And Hope beats Spalding, 77 - 58....  Goeing and Gabriel are a combined 7 for 30 from the field... a thirty point game cut to twenty against Hope's last 5 in the last couple of minutes... was hoping for a better performance by Spalding, maybe tomorrow...

Fontbonne loses to Cal Lutheran, 82-60.   Game was never really close...

Gentry doesn't play?

Rucker time increases... 19 minutes...17 points, 13 rebounds, 10 offensive....  with that kind of production, easy to overlook 4 turnovers...
On the other hand, Kissing one for 7, 2 points, 4 bounds, in 22 minutes.... hard to understand, he looked very good the first time I saw him, but seems to just be roaming the perimeter lately

Greenlee.... SOLID...15 points (with 5 misses from Free throw line), 7 boards, no turnover... the kid comes to work every night..

Guard play pretty much down the drain...

Fontbonne gets Nazareth tonight... should be competitive.... Naz got thrashed by Illinois Wesleyan last night...  don't be fooled, Naz has beaten or stayed close to some decent teams out east....

Middlin' team from middlin' conference vs less than middlin' team from less than middlin' conference... Naz should get a win tonight...

Well, well, well... happy New Year    EARLY    the Griffs get a win over Nazareth, big games AGAIN for Greenlee and Rucker, but the difference is 29 points from the guard combo of Evan Johnson and Blake Welch....  Nice win coming into League play for Fontbonne....

Wonder if Gentry is gone, or simply not playing due to Coach's decision.....

Eureka loses at home in OT to Monmouth: http://eurekareddevils.com/news/2014/12/31/MBB_1231141000.aspx

Webster lost at Monmouth by 18 the first game of the season. Webster plays at Eureka on Saturday. I hope the Gorloks are ready.

Here's what would be fun..
Eureka beats Webster on Saturday
Greenville takes the long trip to Iowa Wesleyan and gets beat

THEN tell me who is the favorite in the conference...

Of course, I really think Webster and Greenville should win on Saturday and the conference champ will remain a two horse race....

Webster lost at Eureka last season (mid December) so it could happen again. I have no idea what kind of student support Eureka gets but perhaps on Saturday there won't be many students in attendance, which could help Webster.

The last time I was up at Eureka (2 or 3 years ago when Eureka was challenging for the conference championship), the crowd support was fantastic.. lots of students, AND lots of townspeople and kids.... Coach Wilde hosts a camp for the local kids in the summer, and I'm sure it lends itself to the great support....
