How in the basketball gods name, does EC beat Mac by 19 @ Mac. Haha

WU FAN

Was watching the live stream.  Crazy finish Hopefan!  You saw a great one.

As for the EC vs MC game......welcome to the SLIAC!!!!

Oh, I see Mac can't shoot at home. Why would Mac jack up 29 3's?

Denny McKinney

A guy off the bench takes 10 shots in 18 mins. 1-6 from 3's. D. Johnson plays 35 mins gets 11 shots. 15 and 17!!!! Give him the Damn ball. This season is one for the books.

9 of 20 vs Webster on Saturday. Credit the Webster defense for leaving them open. Maybe EC's defense wasn't as polite.

Remember guys, EC double downs gave Mac fits first time around too.  Perhaps the 3 point looks were so open, the Mac guards had too much time to think about each attempt, rather than letting it flow.  Whatever Coach Wilde concocted, it sure shut down the Mac offense both nights.

I wasn't there, but that is plausible.   EC is a dangerous team when hitting from 3, subpar when not.  1st half: EC 4/11 Mac 0/13 from 3.  Also, 50.9% vs. 29.9% from the field for the game--Saathoff, Kent, and Behrens combine for 55 pts. on 68% shooting. I'd be interested if Mac's low % was just an off night overall or a similarly employed strategy to the first game to clog the paint--Mac either missed those open 3s or EC closed out better.

Huge, huge win, obviously, for EC.  Big game home on Saturday against a GC team reeling a bit, dropping games to FU and BC.  Really a must-win for EC, considering they're two down to FU, having already lost to GC on the road.  Hoping for upset Saturday: Prin over FU and Webster dropping with a loss on the road to IWC.  We shall see.

I'm beginning to think there is no such thing as an "upset" in the SLIAC this year!!!  :o :o ;D ;D ;D

Heck IWC hosting Webster... if I were a betting man, I'd have to go with the home team...

Prin vs Fontbonne... well, tough to see Prin getting that one with the way Fontbonne has been playing, but teams riding high quickly forget how they got to those heights.. If Font comes out flat, Prin could easily compete... and GC coming up to EC, anything could happen..

it's kind of funny, the race for 3,4,5,6,7 is becoming so entertaining, I'm almost thinking seeing one of those games would be as much fun as seeing the big 1-2 game at Spalding... let's see, 3-4 hours to Louisville, 25 minutes to Fontbonne.. hmmmmm

Remember Hopefan team #3 is only a game behind 1 and 2 now.  The last week is going to be very entertaining!

Good point WU fan, but obviously we have to consider the other direction too... I'm really looking forward to the game with Fontbonne next Wednesday... unfortunately, I'll be out of commission from the 16th on, so will miss those last 3 games...

Well, you are a gambling man. Is that different from a betting man? I'm neither, but maybe someone else out there will engage you in a wager on the outcome of this game.

Let's hope for some good basketball tomorrow. Wednesday nite we enjoyed a couple upsets. BUT. Two mid pack teams went on the road to face two top teams. FU beats GC despite shooting only 34%. Grossly under sized EC goes on the road to face a Sliac top team. Mac shoots an unbelieveable 29% and gets beat bad. Parity makes for close race. But, tough basketball to watch. Good Luck to all.

A very quick look at tomorrow's games:

Mac at Spalding...  both teams coming off losses... I think Mac's size takes it to Spalding... Keltner/Guthrie match up fairly well vs Gabriel/Goeing   ... a loss just about kills Mac's shot at Conf Championship

Webster at IWC... Webster beat badly at home vs IWC, should be underdog in this game... which means they'll probably win... a loss puts them 2 behind someone, and probably tied for 3/4.... a win and they're still in very possible shot at 1st

Prin at Font...  Both teams playing with a lot of heart... trouble is, Fontbonne has more hearts... pressure defense will make it tough on Prin

GC at EC... geesh, who knows... EC only plays bad when I see them (3 for 3), and I won't be up there, so I guess they're the favorite... would love to see GC get a win, they're just really snake bit... They are really shooting poorly, need to make some now or never....EC win keeps them in it.. BIG GAME for both..

Westmin at BC... I'm thinking BC likes the friendly confines of their own gym, should get this one.....

I'll post a couple of times from Spalding... ECred, keep us up to date with whats going on up at Eureka... WUfan, any chance you could post on Webster game results?    Fontbonne scores will be available

EC has to get help from FU opponents. FU swept EC. Big game WU @ FU. FU hasn't beat WU in regular season play in about 10 years.

Topic of the week: GC has a had a ton of dual ball / track players. Why doesn't PC cultivate this. PC has great track program. If your a high Jumper. Chances are good you played HS basketball. They have a football team. PC @ WU. PC impressed me. I saw Ball driving the ball from half court right at Griffin. They did a great job attacking the basket after beating WU press. PC should broadcast the games on a CB trucker channel. So they could use the 'ol media time out for getting guys some rest. May be best first five. Their new match up zone looked good. They got the Ball in deep. And, ran their flex offense well. I'd take those 5 and take my chances. IMHO
