Redhead, Glad you got out to a game. I'm really surprised we didn't hear about you and Hopefan's conversation. I know how big of a fan of his you are. I also heard that the game had a strange feel to it.

I loved the "revolving door" comment. Always gives me a good chuckle.

By the way, what is "Trooper" Howard doing these days?

Denny.. we're both up in the middle of the night?   old age....

I'm mystified... I had a conversation with the redhead???  Who?  unless Redhead is former Wash U Asst, Head Maryville  etc... whom I sat with entire Women's game... Help me out here...

Hey Old Man. That was sarcasm. I know this poster wasn't going to meet up with you. It would blow their cover.

It is tough when your required getting up at odd hours. Sucks!

I was nervous at the Webster game, but I only felt nervous in the last minute or so of the Fontbonne game.  Even then, I thought the game was more or less in the books.

I am usually the first to complain about the officials, but I thought they did a great job Thursday night.

It's amazing that when you have no horse in the race, officiating doesn't stand out in your mind... that's the position I've been in since adopting the SLIAC as a whole, rather than having one favorite team... I never have to go home bemoaning MY team's loss, officiating etc..  And I will say, the officials got the play that I wrote in depth about (Font vs Wash U) absolutely correct... only thing is, in a complicated situation like that, the officials should explain to the public address announcer, so that the fans can receive an explanation of why both teams are shooting, and who got possession of the ball....

Incidentally, if there is a SLIAC player of the week in this very thin week of games, I would think Cody Ettinger would be the lead candidate, unless someone from Mac or Webster has a monster weekend down south....

Hopefan. If that was called a flagrant 1 on the Wash U player, what does it take to get a flagrant 2. Just going off your description of the play. As I didn't see it.

Good question.. perhaps because it (the elbow) didn't seem to connect, though that obviously shouldn't matter...  I'm almost as big of a Wash U fan as I am SLIAC fan (though generally root for the underdog SLIAC when playing Wash U), but this play really upset me.  Someone could have gotten hurt, OR, it could have escalated badly...  and in reality, I don't know what the ultimate call was, as it was never explained over the public address system....

The fellow I sat with during the ladies' game was Dennis Kruse - as I said former Head coach at Maryville, former asst at Wash U.. the man talked hoops the whole game... a little distracting from the game, but interesting to hear all the names he brought up and to discuss some opinions on different players and teams.... He's in Florida quite a bit now, but in the area for the holidays...

Thanks for your observation. And, yes Coach Kruse can talk. ;D My interpretation of the rule, is the intent. Maybe it was an accident. But, the player had to know FU was going to be fouling in that situation. And, it didn't sound like it was that hard of a foul. I'm glad for your eyes on the games.

Spalding gets crushed by Southern Indiana 84-55... this game must have been scheduled very late in the fall... I didn't have it on my spreadsheet, didn't know it was happening...   two things caught my eye... the continued downturn in Brandon Goeing's senior year, First Team All conference last year, 3 points in 18 minutes today, 11 ppg, 32% shooting this season, I've loved waching him play in the past, never stops running.. hope he gets it turned around...
The other thing... It's the Screamin' Eagles of Southern Indiana... which brings back memories of my favorite show, maybe ever, "Coach" and the Screaming Eagles of Minnesota State....  Hayden Fox, Luther, Dauber, Christine and Kelly...All great characters in the funniest show ever.... (oh goodness, Luther spilling the grape juice (or was it blueberries) on the white carpet....

Sorry Dennis. I don't know a Trooper Howard. Keep fishing. I am glad you agree that it is nice to see FC getting kids that are there to go to school and staying more than just for one semester of basketball. Any word on any mass insertion of "street" free agents coming with the start of the new semester? Hopefan, Dennis was a successful high school coach for many years at Webster Groves unitl he got cross ways with the administration. Ask him sometimes about winning a state championship at a small catholic high school and then the next week getting drafted into the Army.

The above is in reference of Dennis Kruse, not Dennis, aka Denny.

Redhead- I thought you girls that played for that team were pretty close. But, if you don't know one of the longtime StL residents that actually did player for your user name, I guess you girls weren't that tight.

How would I know the coming and goings of FU players now?

Christmas comes early to the SLIAC!!!

Webster over Trinity Baptist (Trinity with 3 techs??!!)

MacMurray beats host Rhodes  --Brent Long 8 for 10 from the field, 10 for 10 from the line....They'll play Maryville Tenn. tomorrow... a quick jaunt down to Memphis for hopefan?

Blackburn beats Rose-Hulman... 4 in double figures... BC goes 20 for 24 from the line to win it.....
