My only observation about these teams is that you've cited predominantly offensive statistics, except for rebounding which tends to be more of a defensive stat. Did you factor any "intangibles" or defensive strengths into your thought process? If not why not?
I'll let the coaches come up with the All Defensive team.. I thought of a couple people for their defensive prowess... ie Greg Kent, Kolin Keltner, Evan Milligan.. but no one made an impression on me to have it elevate them above those I've chosen, though Kent and Keltner were on my original list of 26 original pulls, but not in the top 3 teams.... if I started thinking about intangibles, heck, there's probably another ten names whom I admired for playing hard having a great attitude..but that doesn't make them an All Conference player.... I could name 4 players on Greenville alone that would have admirable intangibles but did not make my All Conference teams....

^^^ Good. Just wanted to make sure you weren't slacking off and relying on the stats alone.  :) :)

Ahhh faithful readers.. the All Conference team has caught your fancy.. LOTS of readers today!!!

Wonder how hopefan picks will compare to the Coach's picks... I haven't agreed too well in the past... don't remember if I actually printed my selections out on these pages before though...

Tomorrow.. I'll take a look at the Tourney matchups
Spalding at Mac
GC vs WC

Four veteran coaches  (yeah, Creal, you qualify too) will have their teams ready....

I thought this was interesting: SLIAC administered a Twitter poll asking who would win the championship.  241 people voted and MacMurray was declared the winner receiving 59% of the vote.  Greenville received 18% while Spalding received 16% and Westminster received 7%.

Interesting indeed. Meaningless, but interesting. Any indication how many people responded to the poll? I don't have a Twitter account so I wasn't even aware of the poll. If I did have a Twitter account I'd have predicted Spalding to be the winner.

Very astute.

Twitter polls are definitely meaningless and surely say more about the social media usage of the MacMurray community more than anything else.  For example, if you look at the 31 people that Retweeted the poll, many of them have MacMurray or Jacksonville in their biography.  241 people voted overall.

I am going with MacMurray over Spalding, Westminster over Greenville and Westminster over MacMurray.

MacMurray impressed me in their loss at Augustana, but that is the only game I have seen them play.

Westminster was the only team to win in Jacksonville this year.  I am going with the Blue Jays over the Highlanders for the title and the NCAA bid.

hopefan referred to my previous post as astute, but I'm not sure what part of what I said he found to be so. I'm hoping it's my Spalding pick.
