The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Webster blows it open in the final five minutes... looked very good doing it...makes for a big move in the hopefan standings...BIG BIG win for Webster, killer loss for Principia....I saw the last 7 minutes... Tankins and Wilcox were the keys, huge 3 by Austin Nation...

You might have seen the best part of the game for Webster, except the first six minutes when they were shooting well and led 22-8. Box score not available yet, but four Webster players were in double figures on the scoreboard at then end and I think Crespo was as well, so a balanced game offensively.

Here's a breakdown from Fantasy Land.

Below are the last six game totals for fantasy points. I think everyone got to play Greenville in that stretch. Edit: Butler didn't.

Butler: 44, 24, 47, 45, 33, 30 = 223 aver-37.16

Goodman: 41, 16, 23, 62, 30, 26 = 198 aver-33.00

Paulson: 25, 41, 28, 36, 45, 30 = 205 aver-34.16

Davidson: 35, 22, 21, 52, 23, 36 = 189 aver-31.5

Feehan: 59, 48, 39, 25, 40, 42 = 253 aver-42.16

Long: 22, 29, 9, 28, 42, 45 = 175 aver-29.16

The Bolded scores are the ones against Greenville. It's pretty hard to drop Butler, even though I did, when he's 2nd in average the last 6 games and he didn't even play against Greenville. I believe I dropped him around the holiday break because he had about 3 weeks off. So that was prior to this 6-game stretch.

Of the Big 3 Principia guys, Paulson averages the best and he had a mediocre game against Greenville. If you take away Goodman's 62 and Davidson's 52 for that game, they both average right above 27 fpts a game for the other 5.

No need to explain Feehan. The guy is a monster, even with that 25 in there when Bennington went off.

You can see why I dumped Long. He had two real solid games, one against Greenville, but then had a below average 28. If you take the average of the last 4 games, Long averaged 22 fpts a game. Ouch.

I went back to Paulson after adding Adrian Thomas from Sewanee. He was playing Rhodes this weekend, a System team. But, Paulson probably has better long-term value. Paulson does get Greenville again and Thomas only averaged just a hair over 30 fpts a game in the last 6 outings.

Interesting, as I was looking to call up the livestats that Greek had already found, I run into a seemingly live broadcast of a Principia Women's game, against
Lewis and Clark (a 2 year school)... I had no idea that Prin had already gotten the women's program together... and looking a little further, I find evidence that they have already played 3 games against Wash U Club, Millikin (their real team?) and Robert Morris Springfield....
Congrats to Prin for getting the program restarted... wonder what the projection is for elevating back to a full SLIAC and D3 schedule?

. Big question here, will Prin be patient enough to penetrate the Webster zone, find easy hoops, or will they resort to 3 pointers, where an off night could beat them....

Micah Paulson 1 for 8 from 3 point land, 6 turnovers.... I guess the answer was painfully obvious

4 games tonight..

the big one is Greenville at Westminster...   so Westmin shocks most of us by beating Webster easily, then Webster does the same by coming right back and beating Prin.... does Westminster have it in them again... it will be an even bigger surprise if they can beat Greenville... and yet, Westmin is just the kind of team that can do it, savvy guards who take care of the ball pretty well... do they have the finishers at the other end... keys are Hollinsworth, Brandt, both had good games in first matchup, won by GC, 118-112....   Greenville is really on a roll, getting consistent play from more players than even last year with an outstanding senior group...They have decreased 3 point attempts significantly, and I like the better shots going to the basket....look for Kobe Wands to get some minutes tonight, tough game to come back from an injury...

Eureka hosts Mac... EC needs a nice bounce back form the loss to Greenville... important because if GC does lose again, EC would be back in a tie with them...GC and EC split, so tiebreaker would get interesting...I'm sure someone at Mac still has dreams of a turn around the rest of the way, finish at 11-7, make the tourney... but if it's to happen, they must win tonight...we won't even think of Greenville down the road...

Spalding at Iowa Wesleyan....  did Spalding go home after the Greenville game, or just take classes at the Holiday Inn... one way or the other, prep for this matchup had to be impossible... I really think this game will be it for Spalding, Iowa Wez gets the upset, Spalding starts looking to next year....

Fontbonne at Blackburn... I think the loss of Luke DeLine is really killing the Griffs... BC's tough D is going to make it tough for the Griffs to score, and BC needs this one big time.....

Yes, but insignificant... with Goodman out with foul trouble, Micah Paulson totally controls the tempo of the game... In the short time I watched, he came down 3 times and juked, and pulled up for a 3... no one else touched the ball... Parker Davidson gets 11 shots.. why oh why isn't he getting the ball in the paint more often.... incidentally, Davidson another double double.... he may be most improved player in the  league because he no longer just hangs around the arc....

Webster played man most of the game. They used the zone sparingly.

Fine, man or zone, but my point was work for the better shots, get the ball inside... maybe they couldn't because Goodman was on the bench... my problem with Goodman is, he's a lefty, but if forced to drive right, he ATTEMPTS to use his right hand, and OFTEN flips it from the shoulder or hip, usually an unmakeable  wild shot..for instance, right after he came off bench at crunch time, 5 or 6 minutes left, that is exactly what he did... he needs to pull up and shoot the 10 footer rather than an out of control, off hand flip with negligible chance... I've seen it all season... the other thing that kills them is Davidson is only other go to guy inside, Ross has all but disappeared... Ross a huge disappointment to me... sorry, tell it like it is...when he and Davidson came in as frosh, I viewed them as near equals, byt as time marched on, not even close....

I didn't forget him with (my savvy guards quote)... thing is, against the system, more often or not the back line guys end up with the ball for uncontested or semi contested layups... that's why I think Hollingsworth , Brandt are the criticals...
