Well unless you really love SLIAC Hoops, it's a pretty drab night tonight...

Or if your whole fantasy team consists of SLIAC players!

Last night, Principia topped Fontbonne 87-72. Paulson had a subpar night with only 24 fpts with 15 pts and 5 rebounds while turning it over 5 times and going just 1-6 from 3. Davidson had another big game with 49 fpts. He scored 28 pts and grabbed 14 rebounds while shooting 12-18 from the floor and NO turnovers.

Tonight is a big night in Fantasy Land. These are the players I have going tonight.

Davis - MacMurray v Westminster
Dix - Greenville v Splading
Wilcox - Webster v Blackburn
Wands - Westminster v MacMurray
Feehan - Eureka v Iowa Wesleyan
Butler - Iowa Wesleyan v Eureka
Montgomery - Spalding v Greenville

Here's my All-SLIAC team for the final week. Scoring-wise, they are doing very well, but I'm not sure how an All-SLIAC team would fair for a whole season.

We have a roster of 12 players and play a weekly schedule of 18 games.

Paulson - Principia v Fontbonne - 24 fantasy points
Davidson - Principia v Fontbonne - 49
Davis - MacMurray v Westminster - 34
Dix - Greenville v Spalding - 44
Wands - Westminster v MacMurray - 46
Feehan - Eureka v Iowa Wesleyan - 21
Bennington - Eureka v Iowa Wesleyan - 41
Butler - Iowa Wesleyan - 30

Remaining games

Davis - MacMurray v Iowa Wesleyan
Dix - Greenville v Webster
Wilcox - Webster v Greenville
Wands - Westminster v Blackburn
Butler - Iowa Wesleyan v MacMurray
Paulson - Principia v Spalding
Davidson - Principia v Spalding

Both WU/BC games have gone to OT. As for tie breakers, each won at home. If Webster loses to Greenville they will have lost both to the Panthers, both to Westmin, and split with EC. That doesn't bode well.

I really expected better from you guys!

Greenville (13-4) v Webster
Eureka (12-5) v Fontbonne

Westminster (10-7) v Blackburn
Webster (10-7) at Greenville
Blackburn (9-8) at Westminster

Let's say Blackburn beats Westminster and Webster loses to Greenville. They all end up 10-8.

Assuming the SLIAC tie breakers are like other conference tie breakers...

Three-way tie would go to Blackburn 3-1 (2-0 v Westminster, 1-1 v Webster), Westminster 2-2 (2-0 v Webster, 0-2 v Blackburn) and Webster 1-3 (0-2 v Westminster, 1-1 v Blackburn)

Then you would go head to head of the remaining two, Westminster and Webster. Westminster swept Webster.

If this scenario happened, Greenville would beat Webster and be the top seed.

Greenville
Eureka
Blackburn
Westminster

If Greenville loses to Webster and Eureka wins, then I believe Eureka gets the tie breaker based on their 2-0 record v Westminster as Greenville was 1-1 and both Greenville and Eureka were 1-1 against Webster and Blackburn.

If this is the scenario, Webster would be 11-7. If Westminster beats Blackburn to finish 11-7, then Westminster gets the 3 seed based on the aforementioned sweep of Webster.

If Webster wins and Blackburn beat Westminster to finish 11-7, then I believe Blackburn gets the 3 seed as they were 2-0 against Westminster while both teams were 1-1 vs Greenville, Eureka, and each other.

Or...I could be completely wrong and wasted the last hour of my life...

That's precisely why I don't attempt to do what you did.  :)

Here's a question. If head to head between two teams is the first tie breaker, does margin of victory count if the two teams split? If so Webster beat Blackburn by three and lost by one. So in that case the tie breaker would go to Webster.

hopefan

ok  reviewed to make certain

Obviously, Blackburn has to beat Westminster to be in the picture, if BC loses, they are out, and Westmin and Webster are in 3rd and 4th
in that scenario WC gets 3rd no matter what, if WU beats Greenville both Webster and Westmin will have 11 wins and Westmin beat Webster twice... if Webster loses to Greenville and Westmin beats BC, Westmin would have 11 wins Webster 10

Now then if Blackburn beats Westmin, bang!!!
follow along

if Blackburn beats Westmin, and Webster loses to Greenville, the three are tied with 10 wins .... the results show that BC beat Westmin twice and split with Webster, westmin beat Webster twice,  so BC 3-1, Westmin 2-2, Webster 1-3... meaning BC 3rd, Westmin 4th, Webster out

if Blackburn beats Westmin, and Webster beats Greenville, Webster is 3rd with 11 wins, Blackburn tied with Westmin at 10 wins, but BC swept Westmin, so they are in 4th, Westmin out

SO STUDENTS...
What has to happen for each to be in?
Blackburn is in with a win over Westmin
Webster is in with a win over Greenville, OR a loss by Blackburn to Westmin
Westmin is in with a win over Blackburn, or a loss by Webster to Greenville

NOW then, what about Greenville/Eureka   obviously Greenville finishes 1st with a win over Webster
If Greenville loses to Webster, and Eureka beats Fontbonne, they will be tied with 13 wins   and WOW!!!
Eureka split with Webster, so did Greenville
Eureka split with Blackburn so did Greenville
Eureka SWEPT Westmin, Greenville split with Westmin
Eureka would steal the host position away from Greenville, no mattter what scenario played out for 3rd/4th/5th

if that happens, Webster could be in 3rd alone, or Westmin could be 3rd if they beat BC and Webster would be 4th...

Now then, I'll preface this with this is the LOGICAL tiebreaker system.... the SLIAC Manual does not get so specific as to break 3 way ties as I did... they go to a quality of wins index which has never made any sense to me, nor do I believe has ever been used, at least for basketball....

Sounds like the old Dunkel Rating system the NAIA used. I remember when Stevens Point was in the NAIA and we were playing Eau Claire. We were winning but they were stalling because they beat us by more up at their place...

So in the tiebreaker scenario I will be rooting for Webster and Westminster to win on Saturday and hope that at least one of those happens. If neither does, Webster is out.
