For people who enjoy comparative score speculation. Like Webster, WashU opens its season vs Illinois College (though at home, not at IC) on Saturday, giving a chance to predict the outcome when WashU plays at Webster on Wednesday.

I watched for that very reason.

It is so crazy to look at these two teams, Webster and WUSTL, today, just one season removed, only three players between the two teams played in the last game two seasons ago.  A game in which Tankins was fouled with 0:01 left.

Tankins went to the line for free throws.  Miss.  Miss.

Washington University inbounds and leaves Grant Gymnasium with a 60-59 win.  Holy cow!

Tankins was the only Webster player to play in that game (22 min, 7 points, 4 rebounds).  Nester and Meyer played a combined 9 minutes (2 rebounds, 1 assist combined).

I remember that game. Hoping for another close one Wednesday night.

Evansville 60 Illinois 99       Shea Feehan 28 minutes, Gets 12 points, 1 for 5 from 3s, 4 for 8 overall... 4 turnovers (the team had an abysmal 26)...

Greenville puts up a good fight but their bad 2nd half coupled with Loras' hot 2nd half dooms them. Dix with only 10 points.

Principia with a big win.

Goodman with 32 and 12.

And also see Micah Paulson.... AND frosh Clark (what older brother?) Davidson...

A related story... at a road game at least two years ago, a Prin fan (lady), went out of her way to start a conversation with me.. it was very basketball oriented, went to the fact that we were both avid D3hoops.com users, that she was a reader only, and that she was a big fan of "hopefan".. this was Ms. Davidson..mom of Parker and Clark....certainly helped me to be a little bit more of a Prin fan as well as a Davidson fan... (though I never cut him any slack in my postings ;D)

I don't expect Blackburn or Iowa Wesleyan to win... the other games should be good ones... very curious about Fontbonne-Pharma...Pharma score a boatload of points vs BC, Fontbonne may be vulnerable to that too... but some of us think Fontbonne has a wealth of young talent....

Obviously I'm excited to see what Eureka can do against last season's MWC champs Monmouth. They're picked just 4th this year after losing their top two guys, but they still managed three 1st place votes

Thanks Woo.. would have forgotten about this with all the SLIAC action yesterday... Incredible performance by Evansville...this team lost everyone from last year... leading returning scorer is at 6 PPg... they got trashed by Illinois... but come back to lose to Xavier by only 5!!!... Shea Feehan goes 6 for 15 from the field, 4 for 9 from 3's, 4 for 5 from the line, 20 points, 3 rebs, 3 assts, NO turnovers in 38 minutes!!!
Really from SLIAC to D1... Fantastic....

Very disappointing day for the SLIAC..

quick comments

Impressive that Fontbonne stomps Pharma, but what does that say about Blackburn?   Tristan Baker, Fontbonne, another SLIAC one and done?  Fontbonne also missing Noh Coddington, but he is on roster, assuming he's injured... Deline 30, Woodcock 20 looking good... 6 frosh play for Fontbonne with pretty positive contribution...hoping Coddington will be playing, great potential..

Blackburn game was an exhibition... EVERYONE (16 players) played...stat of the night for Blackburn, frosh Sebastian Seiller (France).. 3 minutes, 4 fouls... Hoops must have been a rough and tumble game in his neighborhood!!!

Eureka disappointing.. Basic play 6 men, thought we'd see more of new faces... I saw a lot of bad shots from Hank Thomas... Bennington foul trouble hurt...

Greenville... horrible night shooting, 25 % from 3's, that's 44 missed 3's... good news is they generated 35 turnovers from Dubuque, bad news is they also put Dubuque on the line for 51 fts.... if Dubuque could shoot FTs, Greenville loses by 20... (24-51 from the line)

Iowa Wesleyan down by 20 to Coe, expected... not sure who IWU will beat...

Prin beat badly by Millikin.. tied at half, run out of gas and hurt with foul trouble in the 2nd half... this could be the story of their season...
Prin outrebounded 37-14... little hope when that happens..Paulson and Goodman 55 points between them, but also 11 turnovers...

Can't be all bad news for Eureka. Granted Monmouth lost a ton of players, but they did win the MWC last year. Eureka lead at HT and only loss by 10. Bennington and Weigand both fouled out only playing 19 and 24 minutes, respectively. Lots of bad shots from Hank? I didn't see the game, but he did hit nearly 50% of his shota on 11-23 shooting. Bennington was just 5-16. For the team, I hope they don't become another Principia, relying too much on just two or three players and only player basically 6 guys. Fantasy-wise, I have Thomas and Bennington on my team.

After a nice win over Knox, I wasn't expecting Millikin to win by 20, though as you stated, it was close at halftime. Both coughed up the rock 3 times each be Knox, so I was hoping that was a positive sign, but they reaorted back to their old selves last night. 7 from Paulson?? Ouch. I think Clark Davidson and Brennan Paulson will be serviceable.
